Okay, the LE representative does say "an arrest" (it was the local news that put an "s" on the end).

Wow, just wow. I assume the weapon was likely obtained inside the house.

The 17 year old daughter faces two counts of homicide (presumably first degree) and two counts of aggravated assault.

The front door was open a crack, IIRC, which still makes me wonder if a boyfriend or other person was involved.

It always stood out to me that the dog(s) didn't bark, no neighbors heard them that night. So, it had to be someone they knew well.
And Sarah (the accused) was in the house with the five year-old if I remember correctly.
Really awful that she killed them and the little one discovered them.
What on earth caused her to do this?

The 17-year-old daughter of the February Carroll County double homicide has been arrested and charged with her parents murder. The investigation is still ongoing.

Authorities announced Tuesday that Sarah Patrick is accused of the death of her mother, Kristin Brocks, and stepfather, Antonio Brocks. She is facing two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault. Patrick turned herself in earlier in the day, accompanied by her father, after learning there was a warrant for her arrest, according to investigators.

Her tik tok is unbelievable. Also feeding to the gossip mills is that her ex boyfriend (from 2023) was arrested for drugs and weapons charges a day before.

I sort of thought this case would be resolved quickly - whoever killed them, was someone who had been to their home and knew the family.

The second part of your sentence turned out to be correct, at least if they arrested the right person.

Authorities have made an arrest in the February murder of a Carroll County couple that left a quiet community in shock and devastated those who knew them.

How terribly sad. Based on what we knew about how the house was accessed, the rural location, the dogs, and the fact others in the home didn’t wake up. I suspected it would be someone they knew

But not their own daughter. Suspected a boyfriend of the teen, but not her involvement.

My thoughts are with this family. The arrest of Sarah doubled down on the effect of this horrible nightmare for them all.
