I wish all judges were like this. Common sense and matter of fact.....

They were living together at the time. But their ill gotten drugs made them too sick to get up and take care of the babies.
I'm looking for my links on this one. I'll be back with them.

Tells of the pills and the methadone and the father admitting that they just laid in bed most days.

Oh my.. those poor babies. Seeing the photos really puts things into perspective. Babies should have round plump arms and legs. :( Not all do because of genetics.. but still.. it's obvious just how ill these children were.

Shame on those parents.

Those photos are so sad... I am not even sure how someone is biologically capable of allowing their offspring to come to that if there is any way on earth to get them food. They remind me of photos taken of children in the Warsaw ghetto.

Poor babies - rickets and malnourished brains... horrible.

She deserves every day of that 70 years.

That part made me feel ill. What the heck?!?! Nature gives us grandmas and grandpas as a safeguard when the moms and dads fail - as much as my mum loves me, nothing would save my azz from her fury if I was doing anything like this to her grandbaby.

If you can't trust grandma, who can you trust?

My thoughts exactly!!!!!!
Its bad enough the "parents" were selfish, abusive addicts but to be let down by other adults makes it 10 times as worse.

I also have a major issue with the Father getting off so lightly!!!!!!!:furious:

In one of the articles I read, I'm not sure if I linked it above, it talked about the court bringing the boys in during her sentencing, and them running right past her, no recognition.
The article said she "sobbed quietly", and all I could do was laugh.
As a mother, the thought of my child or children not recognizing me is horrible. It's fully what she deserves.

After reading these articles I am still wondering how the father got off so easily. Something is wrong there.

Those poor babies. They were probably born drug-addicted, and now to have been almost starved to death. I hope they now thrive and can rise above this horror.

She was probably sobbing because she is in withdrawal and can't get her drugs....

I haven't been able to figure out why the father got off as easily as he did.
I know in some states, if the parents aren't married, the legal right and responsibility of the children automatically falls on the mother, until it is legally challenged.
I'm not sure if that is the way GA does it, but if so, then she is more responsible for their neglect than he is, since she is overall more responsible for the kids.
Legally. I don't mean morally. As far as I'm concerned they and the grandmother are all responsible, and they all should be swinging in the wind.
