After reading all I could, I have two questions. What are the dimensions of the framed comforter/tapestry/quilt?
And how big was the suitcase?

[h=1]Family slams police report allegedly calling their missing daughter a prositute[/h]
It’s been nearly 2 weeks of anguish for the Van Gelderan family. But right now, they want to eliminate all distractions and what they say is inaccurate information that has been circulated. And it all starts with the police report that indicates that she is a prostitute

“My son never said his sister was a prostitute – never,” Leon said. “It was a disgruntled ex-boyfriend that said that.”

The report also indicates that she has gone missing before.

“Never, absolutely never - never disappeared,” Leon said. “If she ever went to South Carolina, that’s the furthest she's ever gone. We knew where she was going, who she was going to be with and she was always in contact with us.”

While the family said the investigation did not start off the way they wanted, they do now believe police have a vested interest in helping find Jenna.
The family said Jenna is on the autism spectrum and is highly functioning - but vulnerable.

“She's very gullible, susceptible, enticed very easily and she doesn't perceive danger the same way the rest of us do,” Leon said.

Subie_climber, you stated that you were misquoted and had simply said that you had heard earlier this year that she *may* have been involved with prostitution. Was it from the disgruntled ex-boyfriend your dad speaks of that you heard that? Or did this ex-boyfriend speak directly to the press or LE about this? Your statement made it seem it was a misinterpretation/misquote of you that led to the line in the AJC about Jenna being involved with prostitution but your dad is suggesting it was the ex-boyfriend. Perhaps I'm reading this wrong and I know the past week has been a flurry of heartache, confusion, and stress for your family so I wouldn't be surprised in the least for there to be some inconsistencies, but I was hoping you could clarify this for us?

Yes. I would like to know that too. It seems that a lot of information has been given out about this young woman, most of it quite negative.

There is a photo posted some pages back of the empty frame on the wall and it looks approx 4 feet by 1.5 feet I would estimate. However, as it was no longer in its frame it could easily be rolled or folded up. I don't think we know the size of the suitcase.
I have had a thought. If the parents report Jenna as the suspected thief, then couldn't that give police the reason to go to the apartment to retrieve stolen property? Especially with this other theft still apparently open in the court records it could be a way to gain legal access to that apartment. JMO.

No one knows if Jenna is a thief. We only have her brother's word for it and he has hinted that she is a prostitute or involved with drugs. If my sister was missing, I am not sure that I would suggest those things with no proof.

I said a "suspected thief" as she was in the premises with no sign of forced entry and the doors locked. It is suggested only as a means to an end to access the apartment. Jenna does have the prior misdemeanour on record and was sacked because of it according to the verified insider, which we are allowed to take as fact.

I believe our LE has made contact with roommate and should be hearing soon if he is going to visit the apt finally!

Any progress/news on that today?

We have clarified with the press, according to what we are getting is that the ex boyfriend was the one who said all of this and the police wrote it down as me for some reason. There are a lot more mistakes in the report. Things I supposedly said but rather my parents said days later.

Were you able to confirm whether or not a search of the apartment has been performed?

It was , we got her stuff back yesterday. Doesn't sound like they got anything of interest out of going over there

Bittersweet news, I would say. They at least verified that she wasn't in the home! Soooo glad to hear they actually followed through with the search of the apt. However, only makes me wonder what exactly was there the first time your parents requested to look there & were denied.

I know this must be absolutely heartbreaking for you & your family. I hope there is a break very soon!! Hugs!

Who packed it up? Did she only keep clothes there? Or are there furnishings, kitchen items, decorations Etc?
What is happening with the lease?

So they're not bringing in the roommate for questioning?

Not aware of it, sounds like she just had some clothes there and thats it. But again who knows at this point. I could speculate that the roommate got rid of stuff .
Working to find out more this a.m . Still sounds so fishy to me

So were any personal items retrieved like electronic devices ( phones, ipad, laptop etc), purse, bags, spectacles (if worn) etc. Were any clothes missing? Had her bed been made? Was her room locked? Did they have to break in? Car keys or documents retrieved? Who was the friend that saw her last on that Friday at 11 p.m. and where was that? Have LE interviewed that friend to find these things out? Sorry for all the questions but I don't understand the seeming lack of urgency by LE.

Hey guys sorry for the silence this morning. We have gotten access to her emails and Facebook through some nifty work with T-Mobile. Google has a handy feature now called time line in Google maps. If anyone has used before it's creepy but very handy

Do you know for sure she had a roommate? Did anyone confirm she was living with this guy? Or could your parents have gone there the one time he just happened to be in there, looking for something?

It's horrible to think anyone would tell the worried parents of a missing person that they need a "search warrant" to enter her apartment. I could understand maybe telling them to come back later but not completely shutting them out. At least let them do a quick walk through. She was on the lease and she went missing from their house, unexpectedly.

Do police know who he is and where he is now?
