That also my experience serving on a GJ in Alabama. Now I live in Georgia, not quite in podunk, but I love to visit there! :floorlaugh:

And here's a call out to Amos's BBQ in Ball Ground--best Brunswick stew anywhere!

Oh YEAH! i stop there every week when I go visit my parents!

I really, really dislike the hateful vitriol and threats of violence that arise in the wake of crimes against children. That is not serving the cause of justice in any way. The anger is understandable--I feel it, too! In fact, I support the death penalty in cases such as this. And yet, I would never under any circumstances threaten a family member of an alleged or even a convicted perpetrator. It is almost as if some people thrive on the opportunity to express violent thoughts and hatred against others in a 'socially acceptable' set of circumstances.

LE appears to have this case well in hand, why not give the justice system at least a chance to work??

ETA: stilettos, we drive up to Chattanooga once a month or so and usually stop there going both ways!

Sadly, I have lived in Ball Ground for two years and have yet to eat there!! I drive down 372 each day on my commute from work. I need to stop one day and try it out!

Hi neighbors! I live in Cherokee County, Ball Ground which is just outside of Canton. Here is a link to the Cherokee Co. Court Calander...

http://www.cherokeega.com/departments/department.cfm?displayForms=true&departmentid=6

:seeya: Hi to you too neighbor. What a small world. I have frequented World Harvest Church in Ballground. Hard to believe that such a beautiful place as Cherokee Co. can have this kind of meanness. I guess I have alwlays thought that these things can't happen so close by. but only in the big cities.. Very sad.

Yes, it is a small world! World Harvest is a stone's throw away and I went there a few times myself before it went kaput!

The brother Conner, I believe said in the video I saw today that the LE had been at their home for days and also the LE had been questioning RB many times. A neighbor said LE had been camped out his apartment for a couple days also. I think they did get DNA already and were on to him asap even though Keenan made the statement they recieved a tip Tuesday night. That might just have been the nail for RB's coffin so to say. With a witness saying he saw RB going into that vacant apartment, seeing him at the trash compactor using a stick and poking at it, is pretty solid testimony from an eyewitness. Add that to the neighbor Heather's statement about what he said to her about vacant apartments and all, I feel they have their guy. jmo

Hey news people! There's a Sunshine Law in your state. Hope they are asking to see search warrants etc...soon. I know...if it's still needed for the investigation we won't be seeing it right away.

Ryan's appointed attorney David Cannon is actually a very good attorney who has been practicing law for a long time. He's probably one of the best in the county.

Yes, I am pleased to know Ryan has an experienced criminal lawyer.

Based on what I heard the Judge say, David Cannon was not appointed by the Court to represent Ryan so does anyone know if Mr. Cannon was hired by Ryan's family or did David Cannon contact Ryan and offer to represent him. TIA

They had to have something very substantial to lay the murder charge and I am surmising it wasn't circumstantial to arrest him this fast. I am leaning toward, bloody clothing, shoes, maybe the suspected knife, plastic straps or whatever the term was. Remember the FBI is involved here too. I think when the forensics are all back, it will be icing on the cake causing it to topple. All JMO.

If they have DNA evidence then all Mr. Cannon will be doing is trying to save his client from the DP. I bet they end up moving the trial to another place.....

To be clear... you trust that this time the sociopath Ted Bundy was telling the truth?

http://www.familysafemedia.com/pornography_statistics.html

According to the link above, in the US alone the porn industry generates over 13 billion anually in revenue. 12% of the internet is dedicated to just this. Forty MILLION American's admit to being regular visitors to porn websites, and porn accounts for 25% of all search engine traffic. 70% of adult men admit to visiting porn websites every month. 20% of men and 13% of women even view it at work. In other words, damn near the entire world looks at porn.

Porn didn't make Ted Bundy a monster. Nor did rock and roll devil music, new coke, or anything else. Ted Bundy was being Ted Bundy, playing a con, telling James Dobson what he wanted to hear, and it was music to that clown's ears.

Porn played an important part in bundy's hatred of women. Like it or not.

Psst. there is also an amazing BBQ place on the way to 85 in Toccoa. We always stop there on the way to SC. Will get the name for you from Hub. These are the only two places we frequent for BBQ in the state. We are BBQ snobs...FIL wrote a BBQ book. LOL, we make our own. Oh yeah, Dreamland in AL is good too.

This kid's pretty naive.

I think he took his lawyer's advice, as you say, and the lawyer at this point has no idea what LE has, or even whether Ryan is guilty.I'm a little put off by the fact that they have pretty much announced this is a done deal, but they won't have enough even to take before a GJ Monday.

If that's true.

I do understand the enormous pressure LE was under to find whoever did this horrible thing - the community is panicked. But it just seems like they've a bit jumped the gun here. IMHO.
I disagree. LE already stated they have a huge amount of evidence--per yesterday's press conference. They're waiting on forensics. This punk is guilty as sin.

Did you know there is a Dreamland BBQ in Roswell? Or there used to be anyway!

I am curious about when Cannon was hired or consulted. Just my suspicious nature thinking that the mother making a bankrupt filiing on Friday makes me go hmmm. Does Cannon do "legal aid"? Not sure what it is called there as I am from Canada.

I know a family here that had consulted a big criminal defense lawyer and had him on retainer long before the suspect was ever charged.

Ch 2 Action News at 5

Huh. Kind of teasers for the 6 o'clock news.

Says they've (the ch 2 reporters) been digging today and made it sound like they have found history of the Brunn family's "brushes with the law." :waitasec:

And then they followed with the Rivera custody case ... and said that according to some papers they've found in the Rivera DFCS file, Jorelys had been reported missing before, and that once the school bus driver had to bring Jorelys back to school because no one picked her up at the bus stop. Implied there was more to the file... will continue on story at 6, so just more :waitasec:

Sorry, that's all I got. Off to clean a toilet....

That post was where I was still trying to figure out what happened today (but you posted a really good link and so did ColdPizza that helped me to figure out)

Today was the reading of the warrants. So no plea needed. It was discussed quite a few pages back that other members were wondering about him appearing in court and not entering a plea. Not the time for a plea yet.

:)

I found it difficult to understand everything the Judge told Ryan at today's hearing. The Judge was talking about commitment hearings and filing motions for bond etc etc and he lost me so I can't blame Ryan for not paying strict attention to everything the Judge told him today; it was over my head.

Ryan must have been biting his lower lip during today's court proceedings because he was nervous. IMO Ryan handled himself quite well in Court and was compliant.
