OT, but everytime I see your tagline, and Eleanor Roosevelt's comment that small minds discuss people, and I think of all of us sitting here whiling away hours discussing people . . . and I read that quote . . . I get up and take a break and do stuff other than sitting here talking endlessly about people with everyone. ;D

Like that hourglass in the opening scene of Days of our Lives. Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives. THAT image got me shot up right off the couch doing something meaningful.

Anyway, your quote reminds me of that hourglass, and makes me rethink all the time I spend here. Very convicting. :)

I'm glad you get up and do things, but I have to say that I don't think what we do here is the kind of "discussing people" that that quote refers to. I have taken it to mean on the sense of gossip--who's dating whom, what this one said about that one, what is she wearing this year, etc. Otherwise I would have to think that sociology, psychology, child development, criminology, and much of history and literature were the domain of small minds, as well!

I think it was his first major crime. He is only 20 and just moved out on his own a month ago. So I can believe it was his first assault/murder. But I bet he has been fantasizing about it for a long while. And he probably broke other laws, like child 🤬🤬🤬🤬, drugs, etc, to fuel his fantasy life.

or maybe this is his roommate's life & he is just an innocent bystander . . .

devil's advocate . . .

Feel for everyone involved . . . where is the manager of this complex & her son (RBs roommate) ?

:maddening: :maddening: :maddening: :maddening: :maddening:

I would love an answer to that question. Something just isn't sitting right with me.

Bait and switch?
That would be a doozy! Highly unlikely however...

He might well have dropped out of sight while he tried to wrap his brain around the idea that his roomate was a dangerous murdering psychopath. And his dropping out of sight might have been nothing more than hiding and talking to the police.

Exactly. Just because a family member is saying so-n-so is on the run or whatever means nothing. How would he know?
I wouldn't want to go back to the apartment I shared with a child rapist/murderer. I hope this is the case and the roommate is staying with family/friends and helping the police as much as he can.

That video also made me sad. This poor teenager trying to deal with something so horrific. It certainly put a doubt in my mind.

Does anybody here think that maybe LE has the wrong person? I think the arrest was made on evidence such as finger prints and they are still waiting for DNA results.

I would like to know what they have, too.

It's funny the level of surprise here among his brothers.

Reading through his stuff on Facebook, and his friends comments, etc., I haven't seen any girlfriends come out and say yeah I believe it.

Whoever did this is heavily into torment and bondage - I just would think someone would have seen it before this.

There doesn't seem to be any indication that they've taken his DNA or prints prior to his arrest.

Finally some good news from this. Isn't the dad's family here from PR? IMO I believe that once this is over mom and kids move back there. I know I would.

Glad those other children will be back in the loving arms of their family.

Days after 7-year-old Jorelys Rivera was murdered and her sisters were taken out of her mother's custody, the young girls are back with their family.

A family court judge awarded the family custody Thursday afternoon.

I think that's a good move. I hope CPS continues to monitor the mother and get her hooked up with services that will supervise her children, but the kids need their mom right now.

I think CA getting away with murder made a big impact on the perp. IMO he would have become a murderer/rapist eventually but maybe not at such a young age. CA was not much older than him. When I read about the duct tape, the first thing I thought of was poor little Caylee.

I found the level of surprise normal considering.....:twocents: jmhoo

This morning on TV, they kept saying "the 20 year old man ...." and every time I cringed. He is not a man. A MAN would not rape and kill a 7 year old. IMO, they should be saying "the 20 year old suspect ...". He's not worthy of being called a MAN.

I have a question about the dumpster.

You don't need a key to put something in it, do you? I know you need a key to turn it on and compact the trash, but can't any resident actually put stuff in?

And then, someone with a key later could come by routinely and run the compactor, having no idea what was in there? It doesn't seem to me that whoever put her remains in there had to be the person who turned the compactor on.

Doesn't it seem that whoever would do this, those closest to them would have seen this fetish before?

And girlfriends? Truthfully, I don't think I've seen a "true" girlfriend yet express surprise, but I haven't heard any former girlfriends come out and say yep, that's the guy.

With regards to the woman who appeared on NG last night and said she contacted LE to report the conversation she had with R.G. after a boy was reported missing from the complex because it connects him to the murder and proves the murder was premeditated, well, I have a different point of view.

Ryan was the groundskeeper who lived there, so he would know there were vacant apartments in the complex and since he followed the CA case, he knew about crimes committed against children like we do.

After a child went missing from the complex before JR was murdered, RG's comment that the child could have been abducted and harmed in one of those apartments is completely appropriate and makes perfect sense to me. IMO this danger exposed by RG should have been taken seriously and used to caution parents and their caregivers to be extra vigilant and never leave their children unattended for any reason.

IDK if LE were involved when this boy went missing, but if they were they might have known there were vacant apartments located throughout the complex and they should have realized this situation threatened the safety of all the women and children living there.

I understand why the Management Co wouldn't want to inform the tenants about this "problem" that existed in the complex but it is unfortunate if LE was involved when the boy went missing they didn't step up and issue a warning to the residents to be extra cautious from hereon.

Sorry, I haven't had time to read everything. Who is RG? BBM above
