Isn't the family usually in disbelief? We will probably hear from more people that knew him. In the Tori Stafford case, her killer was 27-28, no criminal background, g/f's were shocked, no indication. She was 7 IIRC, brutally murdered seemingly on a whim, has't gone to trial yet, but it will be interesting to see if there are any insights.

I say this with respect and complete understanding of the emotions behind the question. Anyone looking at a case like this one finds it is EASY to feel that this person or that one deserves terror and torture and perhaps even death. I understand. I also know this:

As humans and as a society we are not diminished by our compassion. When we can look upon our worst, our most deserving, and treat them with kindness, we are demonstrating that we believe such behavior is always wrong, that there can be no justification for it. It is this difference that defines and elevates us.

Well said Chris! We must always remember this. If we don't, then we are no better than the scumbags that commit these crimes. I have to believe that JUSTICE will be served, if not in this life, in the next.

I have a question about the dumpster.

You don't need a key to put something in it, do you? I know you need a key to turn it on and compact the trash, but can't any resident actually put stuff in?

And then, someone with a key later could come by routinely and run the compactor, having no idea what was in there? It doesn't seem to me that whoever put her remains in there had to be the person who turned the compactor on.

So true! That's not how it's being reported though. I thought I was the only one who is sitting here :waitasec: I have faith in LE so I'm gonna wait it out and see what develops from here...

I've seen a lot of dismay from families. And yes, Moms and Dads often say it can't be true but you don't really sense they're speaking rationally.

When I see two brothers express this level of sincere surprise - it catches my attention.

Honestly, though, usually when someone is arrested for a horrific crime like this I see family members saying "I wish we would have taken the symptoms more seriously", or they blame themselves for not stepping in sooner. That kind of thing. Or they are heartsick and don't make a public comment.

No you do not need a key to put trash into the dumpster, anybody can put stuff into it. A key is needed to compact the trash. It is probably done routinely by the maintenance people (i.e. once a day, every other day, on Mondays and Thursdays) or it could be that they run the compactor when it gets to a certain level of full.

Didn't strike my nerves - I just pass by/ignore posts that have no merit for me ! People talk about people to make themselves feel better about themselves . . . IMHO of course

Now, where could the manager & her son be?!

Did they search? When did he "go missing"?

Is there an official report from LE stating that either is missing? Have police put out an official Bolo on them? Has there been any statement from credible sources that they are in fact missing or have fled town? By credible, I mean official...not some perp's family...

They are starting to require keys in commercial dumpsters in my area. I think it needs to be done everywhere now. That's my personal opinion, anyway.

Are these little girls with thier mother? They really need to be.Especially now.
The article says the family REGAINED custody, I'd feel more sure if they said 'mom' instead of 'family'. Confusing article-seems to be a few days of articles in one.

I just saw this, so excuse me if it's a repost.

Her mouth was duct-taped, her hands and feet bound with plastic ties, and her body had been compacted by the mechanical dumpster only operable by maintenance staff.

“I used to hang out at his house," said Young. “He always seemed kind of weird ... He always seemed like he had a lot in his head but didn’t want to talk about it."

There are some other good "facts" in that article, if we trust that MSM is giving true facts.

E.J. Y, who met Brunn while playing basketball at the Dahlonega Y.M.C.A. some years ago, said he was shocked by the arrest. EJY said Brunn was homeschooled by his mother and also went to what he called “a Christian school.” A 2006 team roster from War Hill Christian Academy in Dawsonville lists Brunn as a member of the school's football team. **Ryan would have been about 15

EJY said Brunn also moved to Virginia for a while to live with family and came back. **Maybe started causing trouble and was sent to a relative?

Brunn worked at a Krystal before taking the job at River Ridge last month. **What is a Krystal?

Dahlonega neighbors said they had called police on Brunn and his brothers at various times, with one neighbor saying the boys were fighting and another neighbor reporting she watched one of the boys punch a dog.

**Aren't there often reports of animal abuse in the history of people who later go on to murder?**

Doesn't it seem that whoever would do this, those closest to them would have seen this fetish before?

And girlfriends? Truthfully, I don't think I've seen a "true" girlfriend yet express surprise, but I haven't heard any former girlfriends come out and say yep, that's the guy.

Heck, do we even know if he's ever had a serious girlfriend? Perhaps that makes him internally rageful. (Is that even a word?)

OT shots fired at Virginia Tech campus. Police officer shot. Another victim as well. stay in doors if on campus!

O/T VaTech is currently under lock down. Shots have been fired and its been reported that a policeman has been shot. Suspect is on foot - telling everyone to stay inside and lock your doors.

Krystal is a fast food hamburger place, similar to White Castle. They sell the mini burgers and hot dogs.

Krystal is a burger joint like White Castle. Little teeny tiny servings of grease....

And yeah, I thought the same thing on the dog.

I've been pondering the relationship Ryan had with his mother. I'm assuming it was she who was homeschooling him. His sister seemed a little overbearing/bossy with him for some reason. It definitely did not seem like he had a good relationship with the sister. We've heard from the brothers, but neither his mother nor his sister have said a word.

The little conversation I saw with the sister on Facebook seemed extremely snotty on her part. I'm all for spay and neuter too, but there was an unnecessarily condescending tone to her posts.
