I don't have any problem with the family or anyone else wanting to know why newspaper was used in Kendricks body instead of cotton or sawdust. A simple answer from the funeral home would settle that question. There are other things that they have presented that could be answered as well and some things that most likely will never be answered but can only be speculated on.

I don't know if people have tried to answer some of the questions in professional terms and they don't want to trust or believe them. It's extremely hard for me to believe that neither of the ME's, or anyone else for that matter, explained why Kendricks face looked like it did. But they are still referring to Emmett Till and saying that KJ was lynched. I know the attorneys know better than this, so why the hype?

I'm not sure why, there have been various "credentialed" people giving opinions on MSM, when they haven't done any research. The one guy went on and on about KJ changing his pants and wearing shorts, but he obviously didn't bother to look at more photos or read the report on what KJ was wearing when found.

The false accusations of racism and murder (naming innocent people) that have no fact or evidence base, are out of control. I'm afraid someone's going to get hurt! Regardless of whether some believe it was murder or accident, how horrible would it be, if someone were harmed or killed because of the way some adults are acting? (I've banned myself from the MSM comments. I can't take the violence! It's scary!)

Everyone looks at a case differently. Some feel it was a murder, some feel it was an accident and some want to know answers for why newspaper was used, etc.

The family has stated that this was a murder. They have stated that they will not stop until someone is behind bars. That's their goal. Therefore, I'm choosing to look at this case as either a murder or accident and cutting through the hype, that has nothing to do with determining whether it was a murder or accident.

So far, IMO, I've yet to see anything that indicates this was a murder.

We all look at things in our own way and that's a good thing. Otherwise, we would have little to discuss. lol

You do understand this, right? The history, The circumstances, The seemingly rush to accident judgment and then the lack of information. The contradictory Autopsy reports. IT looks like people are trying to cover something up. IT looks bad.. And then on top of it their baby was stuffed with newspaper and his organs were, Who knows what happened to them.

First their Child is dead. And in a way I have never ever heard of before. He was left hanging upside down in a gym mat.
It is odd, And the way it has been handled has left this family feeling jaded and defensive and scared that this may be something way more than an ordinary accident.

I can not fault them. With the history in this country, and with recent events, It is a lot to ask them to just take the word of the police and move on.

I think the best thing is for it to be completely transparent. The feds need to come in and really investigate and make sure this is done right.

Kendrick deserves that. His family deserves that.

Respectfully, I have not seen one article stating the parents said KJ was "lynched". AFAIK, even Emmett Till was not lynched, but beaten to death and his body disposed of in the water.

Can you provide a MSM link for the "lynching" accusation?

This is a perfect example of why I believe this case is not being given proper consideration. "Lynching" is hyperbole and NOT on the parts of Kendrick's family.....

But on the part of people trying to discredit his family. :(.

From 2:00 ...Crump carrying on about how this was murder. The only thing it can be likened to is when Till was lynched, etc. etc.

Crump does use the word lynch when comparing this case to Till's. He also mentions that the ME "ignored" several blunt force injuries to KJ's head and just decided to call it an accident.

:waiting:

THIS is the type of misinformation being put out by not only the media, but the family's attorney.

We know, because we have followed the facts of the case, that KJ did not have ANY blunt force trauma to his head. But others who just listen to and trust Crump do not.

It's maddening really, and blatant lies such as this should be illegal. Especially coming from an attorney who seems more interested in his own agenda than finding facts about his clients' son's death.

Why the lies?

Right "blunt force trauma to his head and many places." Yeah, no. Not at all. I don't know how Crump justifies what he does in his mind.

Search the words "emmett till lynching" and you will get a lot of hits. Many people refer to his murder as a "lynching."

The family has repeatedly compared KJ's and Till's pictures. Here is a link to the RIP Kendrick Johnson FB page which shows the images side by side. Scroll down to the April 9 post:

Also, an observation about the videos and the perception that people are appearing and disappearing randomly. The cameras are motion activated upon entering the door of the gym. When someone enters, the camera is triggered. If they remain in the gym but not in range of the motion sensor, they can seem to magically "appear" when someone ELSE later enters the gym triggering the camera. You can see this very clearly in one of the videos. A boy with a backpack enters and walks along the right side of the frame with at least one other person. In one of the next shots that same boy seems to magically appear without his backpack on the basketball court. But if you watch carefully, you'll see that in the shot where he "magically" appears, another boy wearing a blue shirt has just entered the door and is walking toward the boy playing basketball. Here's how I think that happened. The backpack boy triggers the camera when he enters the gym. He then moves out of camera range and/or the camera shuts itself off automatically several seconds after the motion triggers it. He sets his backpack down in the gym but off camera and heads to the basketball floor all without triggering the camera again because he's not in range of the motion sensor. Then a DIFFERENT boy enters the door triggering the motion sensor and the camera and now all of a sudden you can see him AND the backpack boy because while the backpack boy is in CAMERA range, he's not in MOTION SENSOR range. It's very hard to explain what I mean, but I'm sure that's the deal.

This, to me is the problem. This family has every right to ask questions, to want to know why the videos look all edited and weird, why the coroner was not called within the prescribed time limit as per GEORGIA LAW.

And while maybe not illegal, the way Kendrick's body was handled was very disrespectful. Newspaper is NOT an acceptable stuffing for a dead body.

For all of those people who keep saying this is no biggie, I just ask "What if this were YOUR child?" Would you just say "Well, shucks, they told me it was an accident, so I guess it was...." Or would you question every hinky discrepancy?

For me, it isn't that I don't believe this could not have been an accident, it is the shifty handling of the case post-mortem.

And if it were MY child, I daggum promise you I would demand answers.

Heck, this is NOT my child and I think there is some stuff that requires clarification!!!!!

Agree completely.

I don't know this kid but I am angry as heck at how this has been handled and seemingly brushed off. This child and his family deserve the truth and all the information they can find.

Thank you! Kendrick's parents are victims and have met with many misrepresentations from the authorities in seeking to find out what really happened to their son. And no, after all the inconsistencies/lies/stonewalling from LE, I don't believe the official version either. They are only doing what any of us parents would do in the same situation if we felt we were not getting the truth about our child's death. If you read a little about this history of this county/region it is much more understandable.

I don't know if this audio interview has been posted before but if so, it really should be listened to more than once, although it is 2 hours long. I was impressed with the reasonableness of the parents and Mr. King in this discussion. A very different impression of them than some are trying to pass off. I would be screaming!

Really brings out the way the parents have been jerked around in the simple quest of: what happened to our son? Some things that stood out to me:

*The sheriff first told the father Kendrick was 'feet first' in the mat, then a few days later told him that he was 'head first'. He couldn't even get the story straight from the beginning?

*It's not even a question of which pants Kendrick was found in, but where are all of his clothes? They disappeared being transported from the GBI autopsy back to Macon. Were they disposed of since possibly contained DNA or other evidence?

*The EMT report backs up the 'bruises to the jaw' finding of the second autopsy by Dr. Anderson but were ignored by the GBI pathologist, who did not quote them as being even considered, nor did she do a section of that area to verify their statement.

*When Mr. Johnson was finally allowed to identify his son on Sun. after Kendrick was found on Friday, he found the Macon forensic lab to be very warm, and said that when the body shelf was pulled out, heat came out of it also. Why did the lab not take the proper means to preserve the body? This is also one reason he thinks his son's face was in such horrible shape. Were they trying to make it decompose more in order to disguise any damage to Kendrick's face/neck?

I found it. Yes, the official report states he was wearing "DENIM JEANS", not shorts. That's the kind of misinformation that gets people all riled up for no good reason.

I don't consider asking a legitimate question about Kendrick's clothing to be trying to get people riled up for no reason. And it is a good question since now all of the clothing is missing! When the parents asked for the personal effects after the GBI autopsy, the only thing they were given were the ear buds Kendrick had in his hand.

And it is a good question by the blogger because in the investigation interviews one of the students said he saw Kendrick wearing khaki short pants when he was found.

For myself, although they appear to be blue jeans in the photo, they don't seem to be 'bunched up' that much. The jeans Kendrick is shown wearing going into the gym are long enough to almost cover his shoes. The ones in the mat are pulled up some but not enough to indicate the same length. IMO

Has anyone been able to find a copy of the EMT report? If so, please share. I have searched but can only find it mentioned in a few articles:

http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/03/us/georgia-teen-death-autopsy/

Anderson's finding supports the narrative of the initial patient care report, written by EMTs with the South Georgia Medical Center Mobile Healthcare Service on January 11, the day Johnson's body was discovered. That report said, "bruising noted to the right side jaw."

However, a January 25 report by the Valdosta - Lowndes County Regional Crime Laboratory cited "no signs of blunt force trauma on Johnson's face or body."

The autopsy results released by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation May 2 identified "no significant injuries."

http://www.examiner.com/article/paramedic-report-comes-to-light-kendrick-johnson-case-feds-listening

On Thursday, May 23, attorneys representing Ken and Jackie Johnson have come forth with information from a paramedic report which confirms that there were significant injuries on the body--specifically the face-- of 17 year-old Kendrick Johnson that contributed to his death in early January.

The paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) on the scene had written in the report that the Old Gymnasium at Lowndes County High School should be considered a crime scene.

The paramedic had refused to move the body, which was in a pool of blood along with vomit, after inspecting the injuries of an already deceased Johnson.

and

By clearly defying state law and the informed, professional observation of the EMT who considered what happened inside the Old Gymnasium on January 11, 2013 was indeed a crime scene, the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office made a calculated move to delay contacting the coroner.

and

So Prine's statement about the involvement of members of law enforcement not being involved in compromising the death scene is disingenuous. Prine's 'investigators' do include members of the Lowndes County-Valdosta Crime Lab.

EMTs examined the body initially and made a determination there were bruises on Johnson's body and this should be considered a crime scene.

However, who corrupted the death scene and other forensic evidence?

This is where the timeline needs to be completed in regard to when was the Lowndes County-Valdosta Crime Lab first summoned prior to the coroner being notified.

Sorry to quote myself but I wanted to address this question again since I found some more information/documentation:

This is a good point made by Dr. Anderson:

The GBI autopsy, released May 2, backed him up. That is until Dr. William Anderson performed a second autopsy in June, which showed he died from one terrific blow to his neck that caused his heart to stop. As for the GBI's assertion that KJ died from positional asphyxia, their report contradicted their conclusion. Anderson points out that if KJ died from positional asphyxia, his lungs would have filled with fluid. But the report stated, "Kendrick's lungs only weighed, 200 or 240 grams. If Kendrick died from positional asphyxia, how do we explain the absence of pulmonary adema?" Anderson wonders.

Read more at EBONY http://www.ebony.com/news-views/exc...to-kendrick-johnsons-murder-304#ixzz2k6J2cqHj

I completely agree with you on the positional asphyxia statement. That can happen in two ways - a drowning through positional asphyxia like what happens in a crucifixion. Due to the body's position, the chest cavity fills with bodily fluids and the person drowns.

In the second type, something is pressing on the lungs and causing them to be unable to expand and breathe. In this case, the lungs are compressed and would not, in fact, fill with any fluid at all.

The second type is what the coroner is aledging happened to Kendrick. Thus, no fluid in the lungs.

It is my understanding that because KJ was in an inverted position, his body fluids began draining out of him. That's why his dreads were covered in blood. IOW, he was not in a position that water would get trapped in his lungs. Because he was upside down, gravity would cause it to leak out. JMO. OMO. MOO.

The following links by medical professionals verifies that pulmonary edema is present in these types of deaths:

A study of a ME of 30 deaths by positional asphyxia. Most are adults but Kendrick was adult in size:

Signs of mehanical asphyxiation (petechiae and/or combined lung weights > (over) 900g were present in 93% of cases.......

While petechiae were seen in less than half of our cases, pulmonary edema or congestion (as manifested by increased lung weights) was almost invariably present.

http://www.charlydmiller.com/LIB06/1992Broward30PADeaths.pdf

-------

General Autopsy Findings in Asphyxial Deaths:

The following are general findings in death by asphyxia. Their prominence will vary with individual cases and petechial hemorrhages, in particular, may be completely absent, or extremely rare. It is also important to note that all of the findings in asphyxial deaths may be found, on occasion, in other circumstances.

1. Pulmonary edema, with froth in trachea and bronchi.
2. Bulky, crepitant and over‑distended lungs.
3. Right ventricular dilatation.
4. Petechial hemorrhages on the conjunctival and facial tissue, usually above the level of the airway obstruction in strangulation cases.

Red by me.
I don't think that is true.

I saw the evidence log (or whatever that document is called) and several things said "released to father".

I'll see if I can find it again.

ETA:

Just scrolling through real quick, I noticed these things were released to father:
Black and white Adidas Shoes
Yellow Folder
Text Book
Grey Sweater
White, grey & orange Nike shoes
LG Cell phone

Only earbuds? Nope.

Just because his clothes have not been returned to the Johnsons, does not mean they are "missing".

Maybe they are in evidence?

Is this another one of Crumps twists on words?

Maybe they are.. But why would they say they are missing if they aren't? I think something makes them think that.. I am curious what.

I wish Crump was not involved but it is what it is.

Who said they were missing? I mean besides Crump.

He also said KJ had blunt force trauma to his head and other places and the ME just ignored that and "decided" to call it an accident. We know that's not true.

Why would he say that?

To inflame, incite, rile up the people who trust him without looking into the FACTS.

That's why this is crazy beyond belief.
He can just say whatever he wants to. Blatant lies.

I can only go off of facts, and those are presented in the official documentation. I can't go off of what some kid thinks they saw KJ wearing.

ETA: The blogger wasn't asking questions, he was stating as a fact that the long pants were missing when KJ was found, and they simply weren't. It was blatant misinformation and it was presented in a way that would cause an emotional reaction.
