GUILTY GA - Laila Daniel, 2, beaten to death, McDonough, 17 Nov 2015 *foster parents arrested*

Really - really - damning testimony against them yesterday. If I get time later I'll post a more detailed summary.

Gist of it is to do with Laila's broken leg in October. There is NO WAY this was sustained as and when Jennifer R says it was. Testimony from the specialist who saw her, and the people who run the gymnastics club, and another parent who was there with Jennifer R. I think this was the day the tide changed against them, with absolute proof she was lying.
Grandmas testimony did it for me. Heartbreaking for those precious babies .

I personally felt that Jordan Hall's testimony provided the motive for the abuse...

Thanks, very interesting.
What do you think, because she spoke so contemptuously about the mother of the girls?

Thanks:)
All very evasive and downplaying.
The prosecutor is very good.

Day 12 Part 4
3 min
Fatalities from Pancreas injuries are very rare.
Pancreas injuries, the doctor`s example: a motorcycle accident.
And it´s very painful because there are a lot of nerves in that area.
Laila, only two years old:(

yes, to the point that after the first time she met Jennifer she felt uncomfortable because of what she said.

Amazing, right? This young woman had the feeling to protect herself from this woman.

I'm so glad to finally see an update on this. I'd always wondered what happened after hearing of this poor child's death. I hope these people spend a long time in jail. It's always especially sickening to me to see children harmed or killed after being taken from family. I never did see or read why they were taken from family. Testimony above seems to indicate the parents were using meth? Apparently meth heads could do a better job taking care of their children than the Rosenbaums?

What do you guys make of the ladder Jennifer's sister testified to? That was pretty damning in my opinion. Who allows a 2 yr old & 4 yr old play outside around a ladder like that unsupervised? Also if dfacs had completed an appropriate home study, I don't think they'd be allowed to have foster children until that was removed. Who leaves a ladder like that for 4 yrs anyway?
I'm not sure I believe the witness. Seems dodgy to me that this wasn't mentioned before. I heard mention of a claim that one of the girls was climbing the wall-ladder at gym tech and workers denied that this happened under their watch. I'd like to see the metadata on the photo to see when it was taken, it doesn't seem to me to be a photo someone would just happen to have in their pictures ordinarily. What would be the point in photographing a ladder?

This morning the defense tried to get more photos into evidence that had not been provided to the state before. I heard Ms Young, the prosecutor, objecting and telling the judge that the photo of the ladder they produced yesterday was not in discovery - in the 2000+ pictures the defense provided on a thumb drive to the state before trial.

I just went back and listened to Ms Mull cross-examining detective Maher about the crime scene photographs that were taken (trial day 7) and she tells him they did not take any photos of the back yard.

Smells fishy.

Defense case has closed. They have now sent the jury for a 15 minute break while they discuss legal matters.

Last witness was Jennifer's sister. The live feed was awful and kept cutting out but I caught the odd minute here and there. I heard under cross-exam she stayed at Jennifer and Joseph's last night even though she lives in the locality, but she didn't speak to them either last night or in the car on their way to court this morning.

She claims her son went to day care with Laila and Millie and Jennifer on Wednesdays, and didn't blush when the prosecutor pointed out that the court has heard that the Wednesday group is for teenagers.

Closing arguments at 1pm. Limited to two hours (each) I think. I may have misheard because my headphones are on the blink.

I was able to catch a little of the sister's cross exam. After being shown photos, she made little crying noises as the prosecutor walked away, and she reached for some tissues. But she looked over at the jury before she did that, and she held the tissues up in front of her eyes for a minute or two, but didnt produce any tears.

“All (Laila) did was cry because she didn’t know how to speak,” Millie, told detectives at the time.

Justice for Laila Daniels!
And Millie!

I'm not sure about the ladder unless she brought it up to prove or draw doubt about where Millie's hip bruise came from. I think it hurt the defense case some because the sister said her & FM were in the kitchen while the girls were playing in the yard alone.

Do you guys feel mull is being underhanded by bringing evidence that the state wasn't aware of, such as the slides, the pictures & videos? Or do you feel it was just an oversight?

I'm hoping with all the problems with the jury from the sleeping one, to dentist/doctors appointmets, that they are taking the case seriously. It kind of makes me nervous.
