OMG, I don’t recall reading this (bolded, in next italicized section) before, but from this Crime Watch Daily article (link at bottom of post), one of mom’s stories was:

Janell's 7-year-old sister who was with Tanya at the U-Haul place in Atlanta when Leon Tripp was arrested is now living with her aunt and uncle.
Pastor Harden says the community has bonded together to help them heal, and they will continue to help search for Janell's body so she can get a proper burial.

I really feel that the investigators and the DA heavily dislike this couple. I have no doubts that the DA is going to try and find a way to give this 'sorry excuse for a mother- the harshest penalties they can come up with. :jail: :jail:

Making up story after story, to cover up for her no good ex-con husband/stepfather-- allowing him to kidnap her sweet child on her 16th birthday, then pretending to have 2 forms of cancer, as an excuse for letting him take her innocent child on a nightmare road trip---the DA is going to be all over this couple. JMO

This is a great article that gives detailed info of the case.....

"Investigators soon discover that when Leon met Tanya, he was behind bars doing time for aggravated assault. Leon and Tanya corresponded with one another and struck up a relationship. They even got married while Leon was in prison and made future plans.

UPDATE | Bond set for stepfather accused in murder of Janell Carwell
Tanya Tripp bond set

Bond has been set at $500,000 for Leon Tripp, stepfather and someone investigators say is partly responsible for the disappearance and death of Janell Carwell.

In a bond hearing on Friday, a judge ruled that if Leon Tripp does make bond he will have to wear a GPS tracking device and live in either Richmond or Columbia County.

Back in September, Janell Carwell's mother Tanya Tripp was granted bond for $500,000. As of Friday, she is still listed in Richmond County jail.

This was Leon Tripp's second bond hearing for his kidnapping charge. Tripp still hasn't been granted bond on a murder charge.

Because he has been in jail for more than 90 days without indictment, the man accused of kidnap and murder in his stepdaughter’s disappearance was entitled to bond, and one for $500,000 was set Friday.

Leon Lamar Tripp, 38, is expected to be indicted imminently, District Attorney Natalie Paine said during his Richmond County Superior Court bond hearing. The reason she has delayed seeking an indictment was in hope he would give authorities LaTania Janell Carwell’s location, the prosecutor said.

LaTania hasn’t been seen since Tripp left the family’s Tate Road rental home with her in the early morning hours of April 17, her 16th birthday.

Tripp gave various accounts of what happened to her, but in June, Tripp called for sheriff investigators and his attorney. He said he wanted to see his mother and his two children then he would show investigators the location of LaTania’s body, Paine said. But Tripp changed his mind.

Because it has been more than 90 days since she was charged but has not been indicted yet, Tripp was entitled to bond. Judge Ashley Wright set a $300,000 bond for her in Richmond County Superior Court. Tripp cannot have any contact with her husband or her 7-year-old daughter if she is able to post bond.

A $500,000 bond was set for Tripp in September on the hindering charge.
