Tuesday, May 28th:
*Jury Trial Calendar Call Hearing (@ 9am ET) - GA - LaTania 'Janell' Carwell (16) (Apr. 17, 2017, Augusta; found Mar. 8, 2018) – only for *Tanya Faye Tripp (35) "mom" indicted (3/13/18) of 2nd degree murder, concealing a death & harboring a fugitive. Plead not guilty. $500K bond. Richmond County
Failed to provide accurate info regarding the circumstances of her daughter’s abduction.
Trial was set for 1/28/19, delayed.
2/7/19 Update: Trial has NOT started. It’s on the Jury Trial list along with dozens of other cases, according to Court clerks.
4/3/19: Application for "Leave of Court" on 7/22 to 7/25/19. (Leave of Court: Permission obtained from a court to take some action which, without such permission, would not be allowable; as, to sue a receiver, to file an amended pleading, to plead several pleas.
5/3/19 Update: Trial Jury Calendar call hearing on 5/28.
5/10/19 Update: Tanya's lawyer appeared in court this morning for a pre-trial hearing & requested that trial be postponed. Judge Michael Annis accepted that continuance request.
*Leon Lamarr Tripp (38) step-dad indicted (3/13/18) of 2 counts of murder, kidnapping with bodily injury, cruelty to children in the 1st degree & concealing a death. Plead not guilty. Bond $500K.
Indictment states Tripp accused of murder between 4/16/17 & 5/23/17. Leon had bond hearing on kidnapping on 12/22/17 – bond set at $500K, if released on bond must wear GPS tracking device & to stay in Richmond or Columbia County & no contact w/victims family; no bond set yet for murder charges.

4/3/19 Update: Notice Leave of Absence filed (In pertinent part, Rule 16.1 entitles an attorney to a leave of absence for 30 days or less by submitting a written notice, a copy of which is sent to the judge and all opposing counsel).
4/25/19: Order allowing Peter Johnson to withdraw as counsel of record. No further info since 5/28/19.

Well I googled "what is "in-camera inspection in trial" and came up with this:

"In Camera" is latin and means they are talking to the judge in private/in chambers: In camera - Wikipedia

I'm not sure what the "inspection" part means but I think we probably won't find out what the private conversation with the judge is about. MOO.

Hi everyone! A friendly reminder that I don't regularly practice criminal law and I am not licensed in GA.

However, I can say generally that an "in-camera inspection" means the Judge is reviewing important pieces of evidence to determine whether or not they should be able to be presented at trial and therefore provided to all relevant parties in the case. Typically this means the Judge is looking at evidence that is both "relevant" to the prosecution, but "prejudicial" to the defense (or vice versa) and weighing the relevance versus the prejudicial effect to determine whether it is admissible at trial.

The variety of evidence being considered could be vast. Anything from criminal history (of the perpetrator, any witness, or the victim) to as much as a recent conversation that could be deemed attorney-client privilege. It could be something highly relevant to the key players, or something as small as a perjury charge on a minor witness someone is trying to exclude.
