Reward offered in Lauren Giddings slaying
Macon police announced a $12,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the Lauren Giddings slaying.
Does this mean they are now offering reward money for info because they have no leads?
Unfortunatly that's what I'm thinking too.
Chief Burns has said that he doesn't expect an arrest today, so whatever evidence they've collected last night and last week must not have given them enough for a solid suspect. At least not until all the results come back from Quantico, VA
FWIW, My understanding from listening to the live televised audio of the press conference and seeing local anchor Frank Malloy explain it is that the man who heads up Macon Regional Crimestoppers ordinarily has a fund that would allow a $1000 reward to anyone who provides tips to solve any local, unsolved crime. In this situation, my understanding is that the public has donated money to the fund (total of 11k) in order that they may offer more money for a person who comes forth with info leading to an arrest/charge.
I've never heard of the public "chipping in" for MRCS reward money, but whatever works (if it works), right??
