Kenneth Lumpkin and the sketch in the Kristi Cornwell/other Georgia cases

Long County Chief Deputy Keith Moran noted Wednesday afternoon he had requested the GBI take part in the investigation by late Monday evening.

"We began interviewing everyone who had come in contact with Lori that day to include Kenneth Lumpkin," Moran said, "and found inconsistencies with his story."

Lumpkin, a Liberty County corrections officer, had done some repair work for Arrowood that afternoon and was the last to see her, Moran said.

Ward said Lumpkin was brought to the GBI office in Statesboro, where he was arrested and charged with Arrowood's murder late Tuesday night.

"We arrested Lumpkin based on interviews we conducted and an examination of the residence," Ward said.

Moran said Lumpkin has been with the Long County Sheriff's Office for 14 years. He has been suspended without pay pending the investigation.

Lumpkin was a friend of Arrowood, the chief deputy noted, but how well the two knew each other is unknown. He is scheduled to appear before a magistrate this morning at the Liberty County jail.

Kenneth is actually with the LIBERTY County Sheriff. Where Lori lived, not where she was found. They called in the GBI as soon as they suspected Kenneth...so, that was Monday night apparently.

I have gone back to 1988 in Georgia, females listed on The Charley Project,
1-29. The one that jumps out from that group is Kristi Leigh Cornwell.

I did SC via Charley Project. I still don't know what dates Kenneth Lumpkin lived in Sumter, but there are only 2 women on CP that lived there at the time of their disappearance.

Moody's mother, Melanie Clark, tells WTOC that Lumpkin also knew her daughter. Moody and Lumpkin are actually related by marriage. She says Moody's ex husband is related to Lumpkin's wife, and that Moody spent a great deal of time with them. Clark says Moody has stayed the night at the Lumpkin's house several times and even at one point lived right next door.

But what really gets Clark is the similarities between her daughter and Arrowood. Clark says when she saw the two women's pictures side by side, she about fell on the floor. She says both women were the same age, about the same weight, close to the same height, and of course both women knew Lumpkin and his wife.

If he is resposible for moodys disappearance too...( I have a bad feeling he may be).
The I have no doubt he had killed before. From looking at dates and such I can possibly put him in SC from 90-96

right moody was not his first..... thats for sure and if u look at the kristi girl SAME THING she went missing with her purse but the car was in the driveway...


i believe he could be a serial killer, just one question, is he hiding the bodies all in one area, and dumped Arrowoods to keep the LE from finding his stash, obviously he has moved around a LOT, is that because he keeps killing and doesnt wanna get caught, seems age has caught up with him he left evidence being on this case, & he hasnt done in a while from what it looked like... 14 yrs at the same jail... who knows what kind of sickos he could have let sneak from there. he cant be doing this alone, maybe shellys in it with him? she commented on both arrowood pages when she went missing but has nothing to say now that her husband? brother? is charged... shes guilty..

Nice job on the maps. It clearly shows how close together all these missing people are and what could be the route of a serial killer. IMO

I think it's pretty reasonable that she isn't on there. I would certainly not want to be. I would immediately think people are going to say "she had to have known...how could you NOT know??" I would be blaming myself because my husband killed my friend.

I stayed out of the media when my cousin was arrested... I can only imagine my husband. She likely just lost pretty much everything... and I imagine she's a tiny bit upset to find out her husband killed anyone, much less her friend. :twocents:

Hello from australia....oh my goodness girls...I really do think this time we are dealing with a serial killer...

First of all RIP Lori

I read this case from day one and as soon as I read that there had been a handyman/family friend in the house I was immediately suspicious.........dont they keep saying that with a high percentage of murder cases it is the last person who saw the victim and they are known to the victim........I do also think he was there when the lady called (I thought she actually dropped by the house, but have read that she phoned).....I feel for this friend as Lori was more than likely fobbing her off bcause he was there or she was protecting her.......I hope she does not feel guilty that she could have done more......how are you to know.

when I went thru his facebook page it is just full of him in death games.....and keeps repeating "Kenneth is Ice Cold"......I think that may be a very true description.....

now that I have read he also knew Ms Moody very well and was related by marriage and she had even stayed with them, I would be very surprised if it is NOT this guy that killed her as well.......and I think you are right in the other cases you are looking into....they are all so similar looking....

I hope they get the best of the best detective drilling this guy as I think he has a lot to tell...

am confused as to whether he is a corrections officer or works in the LE...

if he is a corrections officer lets hope they put him right back in the jail with the inmates he has taunted and bossed for years....

The friend reportedly knocked on the door and got no answer.... so she called and that's when Lori told her she was in pain and to come back later.

Kenneth is a corrections officer, has been for 14 years in the county Lori lived in.

The 4 women who resemble each other...

I think Tara, Debora (Gail) Moody and Lori all fit a very tight profile.

Tara was 10 years younger, that's the big difference. The age with the other two could be because he knew them and so they were around his age. It may not be anything to do with what he preferred. He may have gotten gutsy after getting away with a few strangers and started targeting people he knew.

Tara matches them on almost everything else... it also makes sense that she was before the other two and there was more evidence in her case. There was reportedly DNA in that latex glove and a fingerprint. They need to test that glove ("the kind that cops often use.")

Kristi is right in the middle on the age, doesn't fit the physical profile as well...she also doesn't fit the abduction from the house as well. However, I'm not sure exactly how picky he would have been. If he was driving and saw Kristi, she may have been a victim of opportunity. Same thing with any other ones in close proximity like Savannah.

Debora (Gail) Moody and Tara though... I would be looking at very closely. Those are just too close and too similar for me. Especially since there supposedly is evidence to test in Tara's case. :twocents:

One-time killers are shocked and stunned when they get caught. Serial killers are triumphant.

I hope LE holds a press confrence or at least keeps us up to date on this. Cornwell was the one I was thinking of, anyone have an idea how close she was to Lori?

A little over 5 hours from Gumbranch Ga to Blairsville Ga (Kristi Cornwell) Also christi went missing while walking on Jones Creek Road In UNION county
I am with you on the obsessed part. Went to bed at 2 last thing I checked was this thread and first thing I checked at 7 am ...

Tara was last seen at approximately 11:00pm at an acquaintance's residence in the vicinity of the 700 block of W. 3rd St. in Ocilla, GA. She left the residence and arrived at her home in the vicinity of S. Alder St. and W. Park St. in Ocilla, GA.
