Gilmer County John Doe has been unidentified for 38 years today.
The agency said Clary grew up in Charlotte, N.C. and at the time of his death, he made frequent trips to metro Atlanta and north Georgia. He was last seen in Gwinnett County, according to the GBI.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Cleveland at 706-348-4866, the GBI Cold Case Unit at 404 239-2106 or the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office at 706 635-4646.
UP11115 has been removed. UP4703 is still up at the moment. It appears that this John Doe, now known to be David Clary, had two separate NamUs entries (both of which are still up as of 3/24/2025)? UP4703 and UP11115 share the same date of discovery, characteristics, were found in the same location, and have the exact same clothing down to the unique belt buckle! I see no indication that these are meant to be different individuals discovered on the same day.
