Melanie Steele, 24, was last seen in the 10600 block of Abercorn Street. She is 5’7”, 150 lbs, unknown clothing description. If seen, call 911!

Police continue to look for a missing Georgia mom who vanished from the Savannah area on Friday.

Authorities found Melanie’s vehicle “on the other side of town” from a Motel 6 room she was staying in with her husband. Johnson said the motel is located off of Stephenson Street in Midtown Savannah.

Johnson recalled speaking to Melanie on September 10, when her daughter contacted her and asked her for $160. Johnson was candid about her daughter’s drug use and said she likely used the money for meth.

Court records show that Melanie was arrested on September 4 for drug possession in Cobb County, Georgia, and made bail the following day.

So, she gets arrested, bails out, gets married, goes to the opposite end of the state, and disappears. All in the span of 9 days.

Her phone last pinged in Carrolton, GA, from what I've read, and that is local to me. Bad, bad meth problem out this way. Her husband is from Marietta, so I'm curious as to which state/city they were married in.
I have a bad feeling about this and I hope I'm wrong.

If I add that to the map this doesn't look good. It would be nice to know when the last ping occurred. If it is before she allegedly went to Savannah then there had better be an eyewitness to her at that Motel 6 other than her husband.

Exactly, too many locations and Carrolton and Savannah are so far away from each other. Also, and this is via me looking around FB, the husband hasn't shared ANY of her mother's frantic posts. Not one. The one comment from him was, well, red-flaggish to me, but I could be reading too much into it. We've all seen so much of this type of thing and it's hard not to become jaded.

In MOO people know things that were involved in her life and around her the weeks before she went missing that are remaining silent.
I wonder if the motel 6 where she and newly married husband have CCTV in areas.
Was her car when found have any issues as to not starting?
Any evidence she broke down in her car and left on foot?
Her poor mother is begging for help from anyone who could bring answers to locating Melanie.

I'm afraid that her case is falling through the cracks, and that makes me sad.

JMO if LE is working with a possible informant say someone with pending charges, they may get inside info and leads to go on.
This would all be shush and off the record while they investigate.
I can only hope this is the case.

Nobody deserves to disappear unless they want to.
And in this case I do not get the feeling Melanie disappeared on her own.
