The judge thanks the jury for their service very sincerely before the weekend break.

But even that... The one witness he was really sarcastic with was the second to last from yesterday, and she was every bit as sharp back to him. And I think his approach was not unreasonable with her. It worked, and it didn't feel like it was unwarranted.

I think it's a tool for him, every bit as much as his politeness and his 'explain it to me like I'm five' approaches, and he seems to default to those carrots more than he does the stick.
Very true.

The defense Attorney is not doing Leilani or himself any favors. I'll bet the jury already dislikes him, his witness cross examination style is very offensive.

I didn't read back today to see all your opinions on Michelle the babysitter. My thought - she came across as overly dramatic, which lessened my confidence in her testimony a little. But I don't doubt she loved sweet Quinton.

If Mr. Hilliard could make it through a witness without saying "now, I'm not trying to put words in your mouth" I would be impressed.

Cameras and flashlight activity on her phone around 1 am
I can’t believe that information is able to be found….wild….. Yay indeed for technology!

  • #606
Flashlight at 1am could be when she was going to the car. She definitely murdered that poor baby at 1am. I don’t see how the jury could not find it conclusive but there’s always that doubt

Q's remains consisted of four small paper bags :( that is heartbreaking.
Beyond heartbreaking, yet LS sat out there in her lawn chair blasting music and taunting people while poor LE and volunteers searched through a massive landfill in the heat of summer to find those small remains of that precious baby boy.

Karma is coming for you Leilani and Justice for little Simon.

She sure is memorized by all of this cellphone info and gps data :D Starting to look a little worried!
I've been waiting for something to wipe that smugness from her face. Woohoo!

I'm glad you guys are commenting on this case, I have just had enough of mom & gm, the whole shebang. Yuck how terrible these people are.

Still trying to figure out ... how did LS manage to do this? About 1 hr to 30 min before 1:30am when she was seen at the dumpster... but no blood found in the car or her clothing ? (Please correct me if I'm wrong?) No physical evidence of the crime, no weapon (just like Corey Micciolo)... TRIGGER alert ⚠️ .... just parts of his skeleton remain.

A 20 month old.. practically still a baby.. my mind can't even go there and I wish she would just admit what she did.

The snotty snide dismissive rude defense attorney is just so offensive to watch. He ignored Michelle when she asked "how are you"- peak rude behavior.

LS could have suffocated little Quinton, no noise, no blood. Wouldn't leave anything easy to classify a COD either. Or she could have given him some type of drug that OD'd him. Same thing, no blood, no noise too late for a toxicology screen probably.

It makes me sad to have to even contemplate what she did. :( I just want her found guilty and locked away, she is a habitual liar, drug and child abuse offender IMO and should never be around any children again. Even now in Court she still maintains her "Couldn't care less, prove it" attitude.

He’s so tiny one hit could have done it. The vomit in the crib makes me think head injury. I’m so angry the police never took that bedding!!!!!

Good morning! I'm starting my notes a bit later today, so I'll be lagging behind the live feed for a bit until after the lunch break. So if what I'm saying doesn't seem to match what's happening live, that's why.

First witness: Special Agent Robert Corley

  • #615
Analysed phone records for this case as part of CAST.

  • #616
He analyses phone records in combination with other information to show people's movements for criminal investigations. They also use those techniques to track people in real time, such as fugitives, missing children, and deceased persons.

Talking through his training.

  • #617
Agent Corley is accepted as an expert witness.

  • #618
He received records for a number of people connected to this case including LS, DY, PS, and BM.

Agent Corley's report is accepted as an exhibit.

  • #619
He's giving a basic primer of cell phone towers. Most are divided into three sectors. Each sector covers a certain section of the circle, roughly 120 degrees.

I'm finding these diagrams useful for understanding the subject matter; hopefully the jury is, too.
