state has to believe DY, their case depends on it.

Of course we can't ask Mr. Owens if he believes his client, and he couldn't answer if we did. But we pretty much know he answer to that.

Parading witness after witness. Bringing up an affair was character assassination.

And here it comes, throwing Daniel under the bus.
Won't work imo Danny was very likeable!

Implies police witnesses are inherently unreliable because they're paid and they might "put their fingers on the scale".

Tl;dr, all of the different kinds of witnesses are unreliable for one reason or another.

It's funny that he's going on about how horrendous it was that the state was going on about her sexual affairs, when HE opened the door!

He's hinting it was an accident or suffocation..

Calling the States case wild speculation

about the state "they have to believe that, they have to, they have to".

Yes Sir, they do because that is where the evidence took them.

"But I don't have to believe it."

yes dear, we know you got a stinker of a client and your job is to steadfastly not believe it.

Basically, IMO he's got nothing here that's going to convince the jury she's not guilty. All I hear is Bla bla bla bla
(moo!)

I think he’s doing his best, trying to make lemonade out of rotten lemons. All he can really do is attack everything Dean said and provide some sort of counter argument. Face it, he’s representing a guilty client and I think he knows it.

Saying that DY cooperating with the police shows he's guilty? IDK.

Hilliard straight up literally called his client a sl*t. Using that word.

well, at least he got something right JMO

This entire closing argument seems to be 'grand conspiracy by LE, DA, and every witness'.

I am underwhelmed.

I wonder if he did this so that when she is convicted she can claim he was not representing his client as he should.
Like a hail mary just in case?

“There’s no evidence it was a homicide. You cannot speculate someone into a guilty verdict.”

Still beatin' up Danny smh

"If someone is craving that much attention and they get that attention, wouldn't that take away the struggle and the strain?"

Sir, I think you misunderstand high maintenance narcissists on a fundamental level.

The problem with his whole DY as alternative suspect thing is they know he went straight to work that day.

  • #1,060
I don't even know what he means by his "snowing in Denver" thing. It's meaningless.
