Yeah, they couldn't test the vomit but they DID test his brain tissue, my dude. No drugs.

I think he meant to say "the tail is still a tail" there. Messed up his own story.

Making DY's lack of custody into a character flaw and a proof he's a liar.

Or maybe Quinton going missing was a massive wakeup call and he realised he had to get away and out of that environment or he'd never be able to be a father to his daughter.

"His timeline only works if it happened exactly the way he said it did."

And? That's how a theory of the crime works? It's the totality of possibilities narrowed down to what likely happened?

Cranky "I don't want to put words into your mouth" lawyer clearly is good at this.

Attorney is casting shade on others' expectations of leilani's reaction.

Did I miss that the drug dealer actually testified he didn't see her at all on the 4th/5th in person???? They didn't hook up that night at all? I thought prosecution said she went and was "banging her drug dealer"- actual quote?

He's trying the old "if there is any doubt at all you have to find not guilty".

Um no.

Oh boy he's done :)

He's saying basically "normally the mother's boyfriend did it, and he helped out the cops, so he obviously did it"

When he said “I don’t care about the marijuana” my teacher soul left my body! If you love your babies you’re not banging the dealer.
I really can’t vibe with that defence attorney

Prosecution says "were not trying to sl*t shame" anyone... it's 2024

Whoa, coming for officer Zurkee.

"The only reason they had her up was to have her cry."

I think that's not going to go down well.

Prosecution stating

We're not mentioning the 3 kids with 3 dads to sl*@ shame her.

I really dislike they said this at all. Why say it if you're not doing it. I get it she goes on with a whole tirade about LS needing male attention...

She didn't really intend to kill herself in that video

She killed her child because she felt sad and didn't get attention from her drug dealer that night

I'm sorry but this part to me above sounds unconvincing...

I would have gone with:

Bubba was the one that got away for Leilani and she held a torch for him.... she told friends that she would have been with Bubba if it weren't for Q being born. She saw so much of Bubba in Q and every day it made her sad and angry. We saw it in her web search.

She hated Q for being a reminder of Bubba. She wanted to punish Bubba one way or another. Having Danny there to jump in as dad for all 3 kids wasn't enough.

Miss Parker for the conclusion.

She's talking about Quinton.

Quinton Simon was a human being a real live little boy. Affectionate. Loved to play. Funny. Good eater. Loved cheese and cartoons. Loved Danny.

Talking about LS's state of mind as motivation for the crime. LS was deeply unhappy with her life and three young children under four. Talking about how she didn't have good support, her relationship with DY was falling apart. She was living in one room of her mother's house. Nobody is trying to sl*tshame the defendant in 2024. Her self esteem came from men, and that's why her relationship falling apart made her feel so bad.

Describes the 'suicide note' video as manipulation, not intent to harm herself.

On the night DY rejected her, she was on drugs and possibly alcohol, goes to Arkwright and Craig's not there. That's why CM not being there matters. She goes home and kills Quinton. Then she got DY's attention back as the mother of a missing child.

"Quinton was her disposable child."

Z was her ride or die, S was DY's child.

Describing the way she differently treated Quinton compared to the others.

Prosecution heavy on attacking LS 's reaction and response. Making generalizations like this don't peg the crime on LS. She was on drugs, high, whatever, she doesn't react like a clear headed mom with support of friends and family.

Admits they cannot show how Q was killed. Law doesn't require they show how he was killed.

(I can't help but think of Christopher Gregor not getting murder in Corey's case)

I still think the prosecutor is off the mark on a lot of this. She isn't delving into the premise of the relationship between LS and Q. The babysitter shared that they kept him for so many overnights, LS was happy to just let him stay with the babysitters family.

No indication of drugs in brain matter= the awesome lab director said she didn't find it. She didn't say it was negative. She made that clear. It was also a portion of the brain matter. Not the entire brain itself.

I thought she brought up “sl… shaming” because her own attorney called her one

Rejects Hilliard statement that 'the state hates the burden of proof'. She says they welcome it with open arms because they want the right person convicted.

She's also destroying his statement that any doubt counts as a reasonable doubt.

They're asking the jury to find her guilty based on all the evidence presented, not on emotion.
