Amber Alert: Georgia mother, 6-year-old girl believed to have been taken by father, police say

CUMMING, Ga. - Police have issued an alert for a missing 6-year-old Forsyth County girl and her mother who investigators believe was taken against their will the day after Christmas. A Levi's Call, Georgia's Amber Alert System for missing and abducted children, has since been issued.

Balvanera Esperanz Parada-Olivas and her daughter, Rachel Zecena, are believed to have been taken against their wills by the child’s father, 55-year-old Alexis R. Zecena-Lopez, investigators said. The last known contact by the mother and child to other family members was on Sunday just after 5 p.m., investigators said.

Zecena-Lopez may be armed, investigators said, stemming from an earlier domestic incident.

The trio could be traveling in a 2016 black Ford Focus with Georgia tag RVX9470.

The mother of the child, Balvanera Esperanz Parada-Olivas, 45, around 150 pounds, 5'2" tall, black hair, brown eyes, and her daughter, Rachel Zecena, are believed to have been taken against their will by the father of the child, according to the alert.

The last time anyone was known to be in contact with the missing pair was from 5 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26. At the time, the mom “was picking her daughter up from the father’s home in Cumming,” roughly 40 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.

Law enforcement determined the two were missing Monday after receiving two missing person calls. Cumming Police were dispatched to Northside Forsyth Hospital Monday at 2:27 p.m. in reference to a missing person but didn't find anyone there, according to a department incident report.

Police said Parada-Olivas's boyfriend made the call but was not at the hospital. A report shows officers believed the man was at his home in Flowery Branch, Georgia.

CPD records show they received another call from Parada-Olivas's son. He reported she and Zecena were missing, a report reads.

Parada-Olivas's son told officers his mother was dropping off her boyfriend at the hospital so he can pick up his truck, records show. She was then supposed to drive to her ex-husband's house to pick up Zecena and take her to the hospital due to COVID, a CPD police report reads.

CPD said Alexis Zecena-Lopez, the child's father, is currently out on bond for an incident involving Parada-Olivas. It seems he removed an ankle monitor somewhere in Cobb County, in the area of Six Flags, according to police.

Cumming police told CBS46 they believe Alexis and Balvanera were involved in a domestic dispute shortly before the three disappeared.

Neighbors say the pair were previously married until a domestic dispute led to divorce and jail time for Zacena-Lopez.

”Balvanera left and that was probably a year ago. But then a couple months ago, there was another little altercation. He was arrested.” said neighbor Scott Walters.

Cumming police told CBS46 Zecena-Lopez was involved in a violent domestic dispute case in August with his ex-wife and a protective order was put in place.

”The real concern, of course, because of his history in August, he was arrested for the kidnap and rape of his ex-wife and that was a very violent encounter," Cumming Police Chief David Marsh shared. "In fact he actually stabbed himself to make it look like she was the aggressor in that particular case.”

Cumming police say they believe this time Zecena-Lopez, who does not have lawful custody of the child, actually took the mother and daughter, after removing his ankle monitor.

So confusing! I'm driving across Georgia (in Macon for the night) and I got no less than 4 amber alerts on my phone today!

First, if I'm understanding correctly, doesn't mom have a restraining order against this guy? Why was little Rachel with the man? Visitation order?

Very fearful what he will do.
Because of his previous violent domestic abuse against the mom, and subsequent arrest, and that mom has a boyfriend could completely unhinge this guy to retaliate and "get even".

Please let this have a good ending......

I really hate that when a violent parent is given unsupervised visitation. I have even heard family court judges say 'just because he committed domestic violence against his partner that does not mean he would do so against their child.' ....

I DISAGREE. ...violence is violence. One way to get revenge upon a partner is by harming the child. I hate it when judges ignore that.

Wondering what this means.
"According to the CHP, the mother and daughter were spotted around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Chula Vista. It was unclear if Zecena-Lopez was also with them."
No details. Were they spotted in the car, on foot? Only the mom and little girl? Spotted by whom, under what circumstances?

Driving clear across the US, taking the I40 through Arizona, major route....in a vehicle for which they have the license #, and not apprehended yet?
So afraid for mom and child.....
