From the 11Alive article upthread: "Parada-Olivas's son told officers his mother was dropping off her boyfriend at the hospital so he can pick up his truck, records show. She was then supposed to drive to her ex-husband's house to pick up Zecena and take her to the hospital due to COVID, a CPD police report reads."

Does the little girl also have Covid? Bad enough to need a hospital?

Maybe they had an appt for a COVID test because she was exposed to someone.. She could have had symptoms of illness and the only medical providers they have unfortunately are the ER at the time. There are various reasons. I am not going to judge or question why she was taking her there at this time because she didn't make it there. Since she has been spotted in Chula Vista she must be "relatively" stable and not too severe.

Alexis Zecena has been arrested in connection to the kidnapping and is currently awaiting extradition to the U.S.
