ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The historic trial of Young - real name Jeffery Williams - in Fulton County, Georgia, resumes Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville dismissed the jurors on Dec. 21, 2023 for the holidays after a co-defendant in the trial, Shannon Stillwell, was stabbed in the Fulton County jail over the prior weekend.

Stillwell was stabbed during a fight with another inmate, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. Willie Brown, has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of prohibited items in connection to Stillwell’s stabbing.

TODAY: #YoungThug #YSL trial resumes today after several weeks off. The last day the jury heard evidence was Dec. 8, 2023. Shortly after, defendant Shannon Stillwell was stabbed in jail. First witness today is former security guard at Perimeter mall, Dwight Hutchins. This testimony is about the July 2015 incident at the mall with #YoungThug and others on hover boards.

Witness #2 was former Dunwoody police officer Mark Stevens. Witness #3 is Officer Sean Lenahan. These witnesses are both testifying about the July 7, 2015 mall incident listed as overt act 51 in the indictment.

he first co-defendant was set to testify today, but looks like it might be tomorrow. Trontavious Stephens aka Tick aka Slug took a plea deal on 12/29/22. He faced 5-20 yrs on the single RICO count he was charged with. He rec'd 10 yrs with 2 yrs time served & remaining 8 yrs on probation. His agreement was he had to testify and cannot invoke the 5th.

From my rough count, court was in session for 3 hours and 50 minutes today. They were off for 3 weeks in December and will be taking off the entire week of Jan. 16th. Is it any wonder why this trial is going to last months? Court resumes tomorrow morning....at whatever time.

Prosecutor asks what year he first became involved in R.O.C crew/gang. Stephens said he was in 6th grade. Prosecutor Love asks what year that was. Stephens: I'm bad at math, that's why I didn't pass the math part of my GED.
