Monheim is testifying about a traffic stop of Young in a black Dodge Challenger, after making an improper turn. At the time of the stop, he didn't know who was driving the vehicle.

Monheim said the driver told him he didn't have his license but was given the name of Jeffery Williams and his birth date.He placed him under arrest for his traffic infractions and for not having a driver's license.

Monheim said he saw a plastic bag with some blue pills inside the vehicle and found a gun underneath the front passenger seat as well.The same firearm that was shown to Phillips when he testified. Ran the firearm to see if the gun was stolen, and it appeared as such.

Monheim charged him with traffic violations, theft by receiving a stolen firearm.Monheim identified Jeffery Williams/Young inside the courtroom.

Monheim testified that he has no information that Young was involved in the burglary of the Phillips' home.

Monheim said there were no fingerprints collected from the firearms and he has no evidence that Young even touched the firearm.

Monheim said people looked for any audio or video evidence of the traffic stop ahead of his testimony but nobody could find any.

Jurors have been released until Monday Dec. 4. Judge Glanville reminds them about the ad nauseam admonitions about how to behave as a juror over the weekend. "I particularly need to know if any third party reach out to you," Glanville told the jurors.


Glanville mentioned once again the juror who had an appointment and told jurors that they can schedule any appointments from Dec. 18-Jan. 1 and MLK Holiday Week (Jan. 15-19)



There is some discussion about the list of witnesses from the state that defense attorneys want to interview during the holiday break (Dec. 18-29). Glanville wants an actual list by Monday.



"Mr. Steel I need to teach you about handling weapons," Judge Glanville told Steel about holding the gun. "Please point the muzzle always downward no matter if it's unloaded, OK?.”

Week 2 of the YSL trial has started with Judge Glanville announcing that a juror was admitted to the hospital over the weekend. She is still in the hospital and not expected to be released until Wednesday. Judge says with this in mind he plans to excuse her for illness.

Judge Glanville told the state to turn over an initial witness list of who they intend to call the first 3 weeks of trial. They gave the defense a list of 70 names. Then judge asked the state to give defense a list of who they plan to call this week. They were supposed to do that last Friday by noon.

Defense says the state gave them a list of 19 witnesses they plan to call this week, however 17 of them were not on the original list of 70.
