Family terrified remains found in woods belong to their relative

A family is looking for their missing relative after news broke of human remains found in a wooded area off Lee Street in Gainesville, Friday morning.
[...]
Waldrip said his uncle is at least 75 and kept to himself.

“He’s an older man and a hermit and not sure that’s who they found, but not getting an answer at the door,” he said.
[...]
“That it’s my uncle,” she said. “The house is empty, the phone’s been disconnected. He would never disconnect his phone. That was his lifeline, the phone and the mailbox was full.”

Pethel added her great-uncle always locked the doors and never turned off his house phone in decades. When she walked around the house, she found it unlocked and the water was turned off.

I wonder if the government worker that found him in the backyard of his house was the same person that came and turned off the water?

Coroner: Remains found on Lee Street are older male
With scant details being released, Hall County Deputy Coroner Kevin Wetzel said Wednesday, June 26, the human remains discovered in a wooded area last week belonged to an older male.

I couldn’t find any confirmation, but it sounds like it could be the elderly gentleman who was missing from nearby.

There are zero cases in Namus from the state of Georgia for the year 2019, so hopefully this person was identified.
