A few interesting points from today's testimony:

- GBI couldn't find any record of Mindi using Medicaid
- GBI couldn't find any birthing facilities in the area that Nick talked about
- GBI couldn't find any doctor's names
- NK got a driver's licence in GA in July 2022. He got another one in Missouri (possibly in early January 2023...can't recall exact testimony) using Stark name. A week or so later he got yet another D/L in Delaware using the Kassotis surname.
- on his Delaware D/L application he checked off the option that his info shouldn't be shared due to domestic abuse. He attached a Savannah GA police report that was filed in early October 2022 that named his father as the abuser. NK listed his address at that time as St. Louis MO.
- his parents' names were not consistent between his Missouri D/L application and his Delaware D/L application
- no FBI report was ever found to be filed by NK or MK.

Please let me know if I got any of this wrong.

OK....the prosecution is done, right? So will Nick take the stand tomorrow?? What say you?

Regardless, I think this will be a quick jury verdict of guilty.
(Of course I was wrong in the recent Ali family trial in Washington state, where the dad was found not guilty of attempted murder, so my recent track record isn't exactly stellar!)

Let's see justice for Mindi!

One other interesting bits from the detective's testimony: Sony Pictures deposited $300,000 into NK's account because they bought the rights to his short story.

For NK to get off, I think we'd have to see Jim McIntyre burst into the courtroom at the last moment, like in some Hollywood drama.

Nick is going to reveal that he’s actually Jim McIntire and that Nick is someone else. And he’s just been doing his duty to protect Nick, who probably killed his wife. Now it’s time to reveal the truth, so he can avoid an unfortunate wrongful conviction.

oooh interesting theory

lol.. this is the craziest case. i can't remember the names, dates, etc

he kept up with up who he was, where he was and continued working on his 'plan'. he was living his real life self-created 'story' full of deceit and murder.

eta... i wonder if sony or a publisher will attempt to buy the rights to this horror story.

Who was the anonymous texter? Obviously someone who knew who Mindi was, but why not contact GBI themselves rather than go through Heather? They also could have tipped the police anonymously.

The $32 million claim is also bizarre. I've heard of plenty of people who hide their assets during a divorce, but I've never heard of someone falsely claiming money they didn't have. It's a giant self-own. And this false claim seems to have snowballed, leading to Nick going on the run, and eventually leading to Mindi's murder.

regarding the anon texter.... i found it interesting heather referred to this person as 'she'... curious what else this texter might have said to lead her to the assumption the texter was female. and, i wonder when heather received the text/s... maybe it was stated in court and i missed it.

The read I got on this (just now got to that part) is that he didn’t really want to get into it, but was humoring his client. It was clearly something Nick wanted brought up, and the body language from DW seems like he’s fighting to keep himself from acting like it’s the most ludicrous set of questions ever.

I cannot imagine allowing someone else to run up nearly $200k on my credit cards without any attempt at payback...whilst undergoing cancer treatments myself. What a manipulator he was. Wow.

I went back to the video to listen and she did not state when the texts were received. I was curious myself. I wonder when she called the GBI?

It seems like she was very grateful to him. He volunteered to take her place when she was due to be deployed and found out she had cancer.

She probably felt she was in debt to him, so she allowed the grifting go on longer than she would have normally.

Motion for directed verdict denied in whole. Judge said there’s an abundance of evidence to point to the guilt of Kassotis.

Nick is now opting to testify.

I think he was trying to imply that Frank believed NK’s story about this Jim McIntyre even though he works in LE. Maybe?

This dude thinks he’s such a smooth talker, but this whole PCOS thing makes him extremely unsympathetic.

Prosecution is just letting him talk, as they should. Don’t do any favors by interrupting someone incriminating themselves.

I'm stil catching up and way behind. Did NK say "we were both working full-time (...) looking for jobs (...) Mindy wasn't working at the time(...)"?

Did I misunderstand what he said or NK can't keep his lies straight?

i can't decide how i feel about watching a narcissistic, pathological liar's fast-talking, twitchy testimony. but i am certain i feel horrible for all the harm he's inflicted on his victims.

The look on his dad's face after what the defendant said about being DV'd by his dad says it all. And the defense atty had him point out the father for the camera. wow
