When I read the title of this thread, I knew it was GA for Georgia, but I wondered is that the state in the US or some "other school" in another country except the US.
I have a novel idea. If the test scores are because of a barrier, like money, then ensure more financial resources are in play to tutor the students who are not performing at an acceptable level. What about the home situation?. Is the neglect and abuse. Are the families dysfunctional.
Boys and girls "need the social" skills to "interact". If this school is concerned about the high number of teen pregnancies. Then OMG, teach boys and girls about sex education and prevention.
Just don't hide in the sand. Don't do the "just say No" because we all know that is not the answer.
Will there be dances where boys and girls could interact and get to know how to get along with members of the opposite sex.
There is an idea that is "floating" around in my City. It is school for black students only. No whites allowed. Reverse segregation. In my opinion a step backwards. But the blacks are dropping out of school to join gangs, and sell drugs because of the easy money. They are often "suspended from school" due to behavior and actions.
The government is all for "inclusion" of all members of society in every aspect of society and has told the school board that in no way shape or form will the school board get any money for this idea.
if you treat boys and girls as different and less valuable, in the separation of education and sex, you will get boys and girls who will "feel" and act as separate and "less inclusive" in society and the boys "may feel" superior to women and we all know where that leads.
A man killed 14 women in Montreal because "he felt" that they were in an Engineering School and that the women were taking away educational and jobs opportunities from men. That women were "inferior" to men. That is what this type of behavior can lead to.............
