Wait a minute. Was the dad supposed to be picking up Cooper that day? And was he driving in the direction of the daycare or away?

Supposedly Mom was the one that usually picked up Cooper. But she hasn't spoken or anything.

I'm not sure what direction he was driving in. Just that it was a mile (or was it 3 miles?) away from the parking lot where Cooper died. In a car that reeked.

Then if it comes out as a click and not a search, it was wrong. That distinction is absolutely critical and what I find incredible.

But no one connected with the case has said anything about a click, only that there was a search for specific information.

The distinction is crucial, which is probably why they specifically said it was a search, followed by the exact information searched for. IMO, there is really no room for interpretation in their words.

I believe they said 1.4 miles, but I don't recall how long they said that 1.4 miles would take at that time of day.

I'm glad to see I wasn't alone. The portion of the obituary that mentions car, truck, vehicle, parking lot - for a child who died in a car, in a lot, left by his father...
Well, I find it unusual. Quite unusual, indeed.

Via Kindle, like a true Amazon junkie

I don't see anything odd here. It sounds like a obituary of a child. They are often more flowery and detailed about the child.

Further upthread Judicious1, I read where the routine was that HE dropped Cooper off in the mornings at daycare and Mom picked him up around 2:30pm in the afternoon. That led me to believe that was the normal routine. I did not pull that out of a hat. If you're reading the same posts that I am, you should have seen the same thing. I am speculating based on what is being posted here and nothing else. Of course we don't have the facts. LE is keeping as much as possible under their hats and I hope they continue to do so actually so as not to chance ending up with a verdict like what we saw in the Casey Anthony case.

I am reading the same posts as you but I've only seen "what if" or assumptions. You said "apparently" which can be interpreted as that is now the known time. I just wanted to confirm. I noticed other responders took it the same way and asked for a link.

Based on your response the time is unknown as is their schedule beyond who dropped off and picked up.

I know the exact history of this story and am aware it was originally reported by Randy Travis at Fox. If LE leaked it, it should have been addressed at the press conference. It was already out there. It was not addressed and I'm betting because it was not technically the facts. Dog deaths have been all over social networking.

Who is Justin Ross Harris?

The truth is, we don't know much. Police and prosecutors are being tight-lipped about the case against Harris, who is charged with felony murder and second-degree child cruelty in the death of 22-month-old Cooper Harris.
He's refusing visitors to the Cobb County jail -- including CNN. His family isn't talking, and his attorney has not returned repeated telephone calls from CNN.

He held jobs at the University of Alabama from August 2001 until May 2006 as a parking monitor and later as a mail delivery clerk, said Cathy Andreen, university director of media relations.

He worked as a police dispatcher in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, from June 10, 2006, to May 22, 2009, according to Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brent Blankley. He said the department would confirm only Harris' tenure, and not any details from his work history, so we don't know why he left the job.

In May 2012, Harris graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree in commerce and business administration, having majored in management information systems, Andreen said.
The boy's mother, Leanna Harris, is listed as having the same home address as the father, but she told CNN last week that she's been advised not to discuss the case with the media

I believe the OP corrected her/himself. The only reference to 2:30 was one poster stating that she personally takes lunch at 2:30 in an effort to caution us against assuming "lunchtime" means "noon" to everyone. Nobody has stated what time the child is normally picked up from daycare.

I'm pretty sure I saw (somewhere wayyyy back there -- maybe even in thread #1) that the mom picked him up from daycare at 2:30, normally. And then someone else said, "Well, when she went to pick him up at daycare, she wouldn't have found him there, etc."

Sorry I don't have the exact post number. Maybe I'll be able to find it.

ETA: Well, I did find this (didn't go back any further yet...post #1224, page #49, from Thread #2) -- I really thought it was further back... anyway, here it is (posted by Baznme):

Goodness, this thread's flying and emotions seem to be running high. I've found it always helps to state "In my opinion" or MOO for my opinion only.

I'm not sure we will hear anymore since it's the week-end! Got to go do some errands.

A Georgia man searched the Internet for information on how long it takes an animal to die in a hot car in the days before his 22-month-old son died from overheating in a hot SUV, according to a report Wednesday.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...died-backseat-article-1.1843382#ixzz35kGWkItc

But the daily news article cites the fox affiliate for the statement about the search and the linked article from the Fox affiliate doesn't say when the supposed search was conducted.

The excerpt in bold, below, is from the Fox affiliate source linked by the daily news - notice they don't even say WHO did the search (they say "someone"), much less when the search was conducted.

Unfortunately, I could have predicted as much...pffft to the msm. They get worse every day, it seems.

FOX 5 I-Team reporter Randy Travis reports that investigators seized Ross Harris' work computer from Home Depot after his arrest last week.

In the search history on that computer, a law enforcement source tells the FOX 5 I-Team someone searched for information on how long it takes for an animal to die in a hot car. The FOX 5 I-Team has not been able to confirm when that Internet search was conducted.

The only article that states a time for the search is that one. The reporter who the leak was provided to said the did not state a time. I think the one article is very wrong.

I think it's very clear they want the public to believe the father was the best dad ever. (Who just happens to be sitting in jail.) I think they used an obituary as a place to sway public opinion. JMO.

I personally think they may truly believe that both parents loved Cooper beyond measure... I've seen sadly, numerous obits for children that read the same. The fact that the father is being tried for his death aside, from what I've read, up until 6/18, it appears this man loved his baby, as did the mother... so I tried to read it without the bias of what has happened... it had to be the most difficult thing to write that any of them have ever attempted. I give the benefit of the doubt to the grieving family that had to do it.

Alrighty then, agree to disagree.

That makes sense.

It's a good idea to not have your cell phone with you committing a crime. They have a nasty habit of pinging and showing where you went and for how long...
If will be interesting to hear about where his phone was.

With how close the known locations all are they probably ping'd off the same towers so not sure the cellphone matters.

As far as shutting off the phone as someone suggested; If the daycare normally calls( still unknown if they do) he would have known this and I'm sure wouldn't have wanted to miss the call in fear they hung up and called the mom who thought he was dropped off.

WSB TV just stated that Harris' computers both from his home and office contain incriminating evidence.

That is why they are refusing to download images of Cooper to give to the family.
If there is incriminating evidence on the home computer I have to say life may not have been how people thought it was behind closed doors.

I've been thinking that for quite a while, myself....

I'm sure they read the same, but I'm also sure the father could attend, and not in jail on felony murder charges. I simply think defending a father in an obituary is disgraceful for that child. An obituary should be to celebrate and honor a life, not defend another person. If it weren't so blatant, I would happily give the benefit of the doubt. They are living in hell right now. I think it's not even hiding the intent. JMO.

I think it's important to remember that at WS speculation is ALLOWED based on information released. Including LE LEAKED information (which is done regularly) as in the computer searches and the odor and smell.

This isn't a court of law and no one is stating speculation as evidence. It's speculation and its allowed.

No. If they did not want to talk about it, and it had been leaked without permission it would not be addressed until they are ready to address it.

No one knows the exact history of this story. There is a lot missing yet.

In that last presser, when asked directly about that search, his response was... I'm not getting into all of that. He didn't say ...that didn't come from us or that wasn't released from us etc. jmo
