You know googling on the smell in the car, I can not get one pinpointed comment that it smelled like death. I don't see it , If anyone has a link it would be appreciated.

It was linked in the last thread. LE leaked that the car absolutely reeked to the high heavens which would be expected when a human being had been baking in it for 7 hours. (Hated typing that. so graphic).

A medical expert also stated Cooper would have been dead within an hour at those temperatures. Bodily fluids leak immediately after death and they smell.

Even without the leak, common sense would definitely state that Harris' car smelled at Noon as Connor would have been in there for hours enclosed at that point.

And as LE said, it definitely smelled very badly at 4:00 P.M. after Harris drove 1 mile in it before trying to screaming to strangers to call 911 and trying to give CPR to a child with Rigormorits. It has been reported that he was rigid in the position he was in while in the car seat while lying on the ground.

Harris knew he was dead. And he knew it at noon.

trying very hard to follow your breadcrumbs to comment on the FB link you provide about who put Cooper in the car seat at 11:05. But there are over 1200 comments under that link, lol. Do you happen to recall the initials of that poster? TIA if not I will have more work cut out for me this evening but willing to try.

Another link to "animal death in car" search on Harris's computer...

http://www.myfoxdc.com/story/25864933/sources-toddler-death

FOX 5 I-Team reporter Randy Travis reports that investigators seized Ross Harris' work computer from Home Depot after his arrest last week.

In the search history on that computer, a law enforcement source tells the FOX 5 I-Team someone searched for information on how long it takes for an animal to die in a hot car. The FOX 5 I-Team has not been able to confirm when that Internet search was conducted.

That does not say in this case that there was the smell of death. That is a general comment and not related to the specifics of this case. And so now it has been sent around as a fact and it is indeed rumor.

And this is a blog is it not?

It clearly states
When investigating child death, there are certain procedures and protocols that are followed. Each state, county and city has its own unique system. Using the Cooper Harris case as a template, we’ll walk through how these cases are investigated in my area.

Im sorry. I don't believe it. There is nothing at all that substantiates that.
Don't get me wrong. I think it looks bad for this guy but I am not willing to tie things to his neck that are not true to make is sound better. I just don't believe it.

And again. reported by whom and where is the link?

The Georgia dad charged with murder for leaving his 22-month-old son in a hot car to die will not be allowed to attend the boy's funeral Saturday. Cobb County officials say jail policy dictates that Justin Ross Harris must be kept locked up without bond while the rest of his family gathers in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to mourn Cooper. The tot died of hyperthermia in a parked SUV while his father was at work at The Home Depot.

IHAVENOCLUE - are you noticing that all the things you reference about the search on the computer are re-worded versions of exactly the same piece of information? That Randy Travis has been told by an unnamed LE officer that there was a search but the leak didn't say anything about when the search was conducted and they were unable to determine that information. That's all it ever says, article after article. It's the same exact snipped of info.

Looks like "smell of death' statement was in reports at one time... but has been removed...

ETA...Google Entry....BBM...

The Marietta Daily Journal - Examiner says toddler died ...
mdjonline.com/.../article-Examiner-says-toddler-di...
Marietta Daily Journal
2 days ago - Left in a car in the hot sun, Cooper Harris likely was dead within the first .... the police said even if he did not see the child he had to smell death.

However... when the above link is pulled up... there is no mention of this...

Possibly due to attempt to not impede investigation...avoidance of quick to judge kind of thing?

:dunno:

Using the same link over and over when the police are basically calling it bunk does not prove a point or help to substantiate the rumor.

Randy Travis with Fox 5 Atlanta nailed this case. Reporting that police said there was an overwhelming odor inside the MIS employees vehicle. He also reported that an eyewitness said the same.

I can't imagine MIS employee couldn't notice an odor after child had fried for three looong hours in the sun with outside temps near 90*. Inside temps would've been near 130*.

The link is in thread #2 Not too far from the end. Also, LE leaked that info, and according to Gitana, a verified attorney, its a fact that LE leak information as common practice. Further Common sense demands it.
The point is, according to LE, it REEKED at 4:00 p.m. Yet he still left the parking lot and drove one mile. I believe it reeked as well at noon.

I'm sorry. To even consider that the car did not smell out of the ordinary with a toddler in diapers, and likely dead for hours in the sweltering heat is not something I am buying.

BBM

So, it looks like Mr Harris KNEW his baby was in the suv . That, and the going out to his vehicle around lunch break or whenever, just makes him appear guilty as heck.:banghead:
:moo:

Is there a link to the photo or tweet, popsicle, of him placing Cooper in the suv at the restaurant ?

Sorry, I meant that jpg about busting out the window if you leave your child or dog in your car.

Possibly due to it not being true. The child was alive at CFA. No doubt. So if the child died in the car, We don't know when, It does not mean that it smelled of death. IT could have just smelled from dirty diaper in heat, vomit, pee.

I think that it has been removed because there is more to this.

I understand those who do not wish to put much stock in info that is in hundreds of articles and originates from ONE reporter/news site who claims the info came to them by way of a source inside the investigation.

Of all the links I have seen regarding the searches for animal deaths in due to heat they all link back to another article which sources another article which sources a third article which sources the FOX - 5 scoop.

While I am less than impressed with LE's alleged denial that this info is true, I am still considering it as rumor rather than fact because gosh darn it for me it always comes down to horse's mouth and I do not like second hand unidentified horse's statements. That is just me.

Do I think this man figured out pretty early on in the day he forgot his kid - yes. Do I think LE has evidence and reason to be shocked about this case and feel he knew - yes.

But I believe we will need to wait for trial before we find out exactly WHY they feel that way.

Yes. It should have smelled of all of these things. It does not have to be the smell of death, but it would have smelled.

Which creates a MAJOR problem for him at noon. Further, it creates another problem for him driving in it at ALL at 4 p.m. when he pulled into the restaurant screaming that his child was "choking'

Bottom line is that the car smelled, whatever the odor was, it reeked.
