First post here, though I've been reading here for a while.

I guess Georgia doesn't have a law (yet) about leaving children unattended in cars - I assumed all states would. I live in Texas. Leaving a child in a car unattended is not only very dangerous, it is illegal. I was surprised when I looked online to see what Georgia's law might be.

Only 19 states have laws that make it illegal to leave a child unattended in a vehicle:

can't see the camera either -- just seems the line of sight is correct to think that she's the photographer

Yes. And some are pointing out that they don't "see a camera." In this day in age, while taking daily life candids, people don't put a camera up to their faces anymore. They hold an iPhone or a smartphone in front of the object they are photographing. Judging from the warrant, and objects seized, they were an "Apple Family" and used Apple products. And it doesn't even have to be an iPhone it can be any smart phone camera, and she wouldn't be holding it up to her face.

I know, considering he had just eaten at CFA. But he is a big guy.

I meant, from a pro-not-an-accident stance. Knowing his child was in his car, dead or dying...how could he eat????

That is either proof it was an accident, and he had no idea; or he is a very cold-hearted person.

I assumed it was her in front of the sonogram. That would make sense, right?

the lamp/picture/reflection or taped thing is not productive IMO. I am off to check on some other cases. I believe the image to be a reflection but for the life of me cannot figure out why it matters??

will check back in a bit. REALLY HOPEFUL THAT NEW INFO WILL BE COMING OUT TODAY OR TOMORROW.

Lol! I hope you haven't jinxed it by taking off personal days so you could keep up!

Agree, it is one or the other:)

CCmakes3....I am nominating your response for Post of the Day!!!

I DID laugh out loud! And people are paying $60,000 a year in tuition somewhere ....to have a professor demonstrate to their offspring...that there is a grave threat of a developing classroom bias against silent, non-reactive loners who come to class everyday with bags over their heads. A new victim group!

This is hilarious!!

Not that it is relevant at all to this case, but I do find the experiment interesting. It is a social experiment, social research, which I love. Group think as well. And another poster pointed out that we are wired to read faces in a primal way and when we can't, we do not like it and often have visceral creeped out reactions. No matter how weird it may sound, we find out a lot about human behavior and group dynamics from social research. I always find it fascinating.

what are the penalties? in texas ignore that LOL -- I found it

** If the child is injured the charge is then child endangerment which is a felony. The penalties are six
months to two years in jail and a fine up to $10,000.

from your link that's the penalty in Texas if child is harmed......love it

thanks for providing me with some hope that this will be treated seriously .........

Could be. I can't tell if its a taped photo or a reflection. I was just pointing out that if it is a reflection of her taking a photo of him, she would not be holding up a camera to her face anyway which is why we don't see one. Odds are she is using a camera phone and holding it up in the air in front of Mr. Happy and Cooper, which is why it is not seen.

I cannot keep my mouth shut any longer. This is ridiculous and insulting. I am willing to bet there are far more murders in other religions such as Muslim "honor killings" and Hinduism "dowry murders" than in the Mormon community. Don't you think it would be a little insulting to call them "Muslim divorce" or "Hindu divorce?" This really needs to stop. Thank you.

I agree.

also, as a Dateline and ID addict, for anyone to say half of the murder stories on Dateline or 48 hours are about a Mormon murder? That's just 1000000% false. Wow.

It was interesting to see how differently each state law is worded, and what the penalties were.

I think California calls theirs Kaitlyn's Law. Maybe there should be a Cooper's Law in Georgia...

Bbm, I'm guessing THAT was the point of the research, rather than proving how mean and judgmental college students are. :seeya:

I am grateful to see that 19 states are taking it seriously.

Aside from the obvious human trauma involved isn't this from a cut and dried point of view a driving issue as well??

We are responsible for all of our passengers to be buckled up lest we get a fine.

Shouldn't be much of leap to suggest that we are responsible as drivers to ensure that all of our passengers disembark the ship/our vehicle safely as well??

seems logical to me --

Tell it to the producers of dateline, the comment Nazarene Divorce was FROM AN EPISODE OF DATELINE

I've already quoted the link

Hey guys, I am not a mod, but I don't want to see this thread shut down.

We have been warned several times by the mods that religion is off-limits for discussion in this case. We can't talk about it all.
