I apologize for being so evasive. For some reason I had the impression some of you were into sleuthing and enjoyed coming to your own conclusions based on a handful of clues...
Bobby Lee Cook is a defense attorney from Summerville, Ga. (next door to Trion). And, BLC is not just your run of the mill defense attorney, he happens to be one of the best in the country.
The TV series, Matlock, was based on the style and character of BLC...
Flamboyant and powerful in the courtroom. Charismatic and brilliant with a flare for always being on top and never being out manipulated.

The reference to BLC in the wikipedia info is as follows.
Although never officially confirmed, a widespread rumor suggests that the character of Ben Matlock was largely based on well-known Atlanta attorney Bobby Lee Cook. Cook, whose practice also includes representation of plaintiffs for personal injuries, is frequently called the dean of Georgia criminal defense attorneys.
So what? Well, if you check BLC's track record you will find that he seldom, if ever loses a criminal defense case. As a result, the average guy cannot afford his fee. But, BLC is also loyal to his lifelong friends and although I have no way of knowing for sure, I would imagine that SP's family could call on BLC for a big favor. So what?
It all boils down to this: If, and I emphasize
IF, SP were to retain the services of BLC, it would be very interesting. LE is no stanger to BLC and LE would know that one little bitty mistake could be costly for a prosecutors case...
Aint it funny how the wheels of justice turn so much easier when lubed with legal tender.
On another note, I understand that concerned folks want to help out in a search for a missing person. And, the more eyes you have looking, the better chance of finding what you're looking for. But, is it really prudent to place women and kids in a position that may find them face to face with a horrible crime scene? This ain't easter eggs we're hunting folks. And, this ain't a boy scout hiking trip for a merit badge. IMO, the search for a missing person, presumed to be deceased, should be left to professionals. Yes? No?
