my heart is with Bo/Mr. Bojangles/Beau (I've seen it both ways) and his family and friends at this point... (but especially that dog, who is elderly already. Dogs grieve, don't doubt it for one second. And no one can explain to him what's going on...)

it's been now SIXTEEN DAYS and my hearts breaks for those who know and love and laugh and share and care and rely upon this man and all that he has to offer.

Speculation only: I wonder if possibly Bo is sick and that was one more thing to add to Tim's motivation to leave? (Assuming this is a voluntary disappearance) Not getting a promotion and finding out your beloved pet may need to be put down soon can really upset a person. Might explain why he would leave the upstairs windows open too. For whoever found Bo... :(

I think it would be pretty awesome and amazing to know that strangers were trying to think of ideas about my missing loved one.... Might find a diamond in a pile of crap, you never know.

I know if a person comes to the hospital where I work (non-clinical) and requests that no one is told they are there, we can say NOTHING regarding that patient. We basically have to say that the person is not in our system. Could it be that TC is in a facility and because of privacy regulations, that facility cannot tell the parents, or even police?

I also wondered this as well. With my background, I know this is quite plausible. Ive wondered this, however the insurance information would have be ran, wouldnt it?

MOD NOTE:

A few reminders for members new and old. First, please familiarize yourself with our TOS and Rules before posting.

Second, do not sleuth Tim's neighbor(s). Nobody has been named a suspect or a POI in this case. I don't understand the speculation that the neighbors are "inserting themselves into this case". I believe the media went to them and asked questions and they answered. There's nothing suspicious about that. It would seem more suspicious to me if the neighbors knew something and refused to comment. Either way, they have not been implicated in Tim's disappearance, so they are off limits for sleuthing at this time.

Do not tell others how to post. This is a TOS violation. There will be differences of opinion and that's fine. If you disagree with someone's opinion, do so respectfully or ignore them and scroll and roll.

This is a crime board, not a prayer board. We are a victim-friendly forum, but we are also sleuthing possible crimes and situations where people have either harmed themselves, had an accident, or have fallen victim to foul play. Many of the members on WS have seen far too many cases end up as suicides. Yes, it's tragic, but it absolutely happens and it may have happened here and it may be discussed.

This post lands at random.

I think his family is being understandably cautious because of TC's high profile with the CDC, and the various OTHER sites that have really been nothing but rumor mongering IMO. Even MSM keeps repeating some of these debunked rumors (even if it is just to say that there was a rumor... which just reopens everything IMO), so folks new to Tim's story grab on and things get really ugly.

I think they are doing the best they can. Aren't we all?

Do we know how the info about the neighbors originally got out?

IIRC Tim knew on Feb 5 he wasn't being promoted but the "why he wasn't being promoted" was explained the morning of Feb 12. Did he know who was being given the branch manager position on Feb 5 or not until the 12th?? Would the "who" (OR the "why") make a significant difference in his attitude??

I have seen conflicting articles, which is partly why I'm not giving it much credence as a report. Some articles say the day before and some say in the days before. Some say Tim called the neighbor, others say he texted the neighbor. Honestly, it sounds like poor reporting. If it is truly something relevant, I'm sure we'll hear more in the days to come.

Ive pondered this. I wondered if it was standard protocol for them to discuss the whys, if you didn't get a position, or if in fact he requested it.

But do we know HOW it originally got out? Did the neighbor tell the media? Did police tell the media?

That I don't know. I have a feeling the police canvassed the neighborhood and spoke with the neighbors or possibly the neighbors contacted the police when they became aware of Tim's disapperance. Then the media probably crawled around the neighborhood looking for information on Tim. But that's just speculation. I'm not even sure I believe the story since it hasn't been consistently reported. But I have no reason to suspect the neighbors of any wrong doing at this time. Tim's family hasn't even mentioned the neighbors when they've been interviewed. They seem focused on getting the message out that they love Tim and just want him to come home.

Police have searched nearby woods with dogs, canvassed hospitals and jails, reviewed cellphone records, looked in cemeteries and even flown over the immediate area with a helicopter looking for signs of life — or worse.

[...]

But the search is now in its third week, and police do not appear to be any closer to finding signs of Cunningham alive or dead. There is “no evidence suggesting anything,” O'Connor said, exasperated.

Police are working through about two dozen tips, he said Tuesday.

[...]

O'Connor, commander of the police department's major crimes division, stressed that investigators have not uncovered any evidence that Cunningham's promotion snub is directly linked to his disappearance. The CDC did not identify any problems with his job performance or workplace issues beyond the promotion denial, O'Connor said.

“We're open to any and all possibilities,” O'Connor said, though he declined to say how investigators were taking Cunningham's mental health into account during the search.

[...]

Cunningham had no Uber or Lyft transactions that day, and his car and dog, Mr. Bojangles, were found at his home, O'Connor added.

Chris Torry, a neighbor of Cunningham’s, told FOX5 Atlanta the CDC employee made an unusual request a few days before he disappeared.

"My wife and him swapped phone numbers…[On] Saturday, Tim called over to me from across the way and told me to take his number out of her phone. It seemed a bit strange," Torry recalled.

O’Connor said there’s no evidence of foul play, however, it couldn't be ruled out.

Neighbors have contributed to the search for Cunningham by posting flyers around the neighborhood. Cunningham’s brother, Anterio, said Cunningham loved his job and “wouldn’t just cast it aside.”

"Tim is the consummate professional. He loves his job. He wouldn't just cast it aside. He's worked hard to get where he is," he said.

The neighbor speaks on the video (1:37) at this link:

This video has probably been shared already but for those that didn't hear the neighbor speak...

Four times, the parents of a missing doctor with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have been told that a body has been found. Each time, Tia and Terrell Cunningham are sent into heart-wrenching agony, only to learn that it isn’t their son.

[...]

Terrell Cunningham retired December 31 after years with the Food and Drug Administration. He is also a retired Air Force colonel. “This was supposed to have been one series of memorable events after another,” he said. “This is not how we planned retirement.”

He praised the police department for working with the family. He understands the reason why the family was notified about the four bodies that were found, but it doesn’t make it any easier as a parent to bear such news.

“It is quite agonizing to wait on the news that it’s not our son,” he said. “We’d just like to send our sympathies and condolences to those families.”

While both try to remain positive, the parents have reflected on favorite memories.

For the father, it was in September for his 60th birthday. He had ordered all three of his children — Anterio, Tiara and Tim — join him and their mother in Cabo San Lucas. “I told them: I expect you to be there,” he said.

His middle son was always so busy working, his father feared he would not make it. “But he quickly said, ‘I’m coming.’ ”

It was an all-inclusive resort, and the family indulged in food and revelry. “It was so good to see Tim having so much fun, because he is such a hard worker. Very seldom does he have the time to just let go,” his father said. “It was awesome.”

Police did confirm that Cunningham told a neighbor to tell his wife to erase his phone number from her phone on the day before he disappeared. O'Connor said they'd talked to that neighbor but offered no other details about what that exchange might have meant.

O'Connor said that the CDC has been cooperative in the investigation.

I believe whatever happened was very sudden. Praying for Tim’s wellbeing and safety.

Can you expand upon your thoughts? Do you think he was ambushed or kidnapped or something? The police have reported no signs of foul play at the house. Two windows were open (one in the bathroom and one in the laundry room), but all of Tim's personal belongings were found in the home.
