“Our family is very happy about the indictment,” said Tina’s mother, Kay Hitchcock Smith. “It has been a very long and hard road with many unanswered questions.”

Sheriff Cochran says the indictment will be filed with the Superior Court on Monday.

So fentanyl was found in her system, but wasn't the cause of her death? Is that what they are trying to say? I suspected Tina may have been dabbling in something. I mean why else would she be associating with Adams, further keeping it on the down low.

I hope we learn more details soon.

Sounds like they couldn't say for sure whether it was the cause of her death. I followed this case so closely at the time and I feel like there's a decent chance the perp will get away with murder because of the presence of fentanyl and no definite signs of violence on the decomposed body. jmo.

A year is a long time to simply even get an indictment. There has to be more to this story that is not being said publicly.

I am from and currently live in the small town where both Prince and Adams live(d). I personally knew Tina and Adams. I am more familiar with Adams. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. Like many small town cases, this one has details that aren’t being shared with the media. Ask away. I am new to websleuths. I joined for this case because it is bothering me so much. I need to talk about it.

Greetings and Welcome!

Why did it take so long to obtain an indictment, if you know?

Do you know the cause of Tina's death? Was Adams a well-known drug user/dealer?

What do you make of the victim having Fentanyl in her system? Was her death an accidental overdose?

Perfect, sometimes it can take a bit for them to respond, the Mods here are volunteers and have a heavy load.

Wanted to also point out the envelope at the top right side of the page. It's a private conversation button, discussion there occurs outside of this public forum. Only invited posters can see what is said there :)

Will do! I just resent the email to the mods because I didn’t see it in my sent file in my gmail.

Sertraline (an antidepressant) [Common brands: Zoloft]
Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) -- It can treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder.

I'm thinking that the fentanyl (an opioid, to treat pain) that was detected in the tox results was prescribed, in patch form, and was not being used illicitly. This could have been easily determined from medical records, pharmacy reports, etc. If this is true, a patch would have been on her body, unless it was removed prior to her death (either by Tina, or someone else). It was apparently not the cause of death, so that leads me to believe that the amount detected was within a therapeutic range. That doesn't mean that it could not have come from off the street. How's that for a wishy-washy analysis. But, I am just speculating here -- don't know anything!

Very good point, Knox. (Thanks for the court docket!)
