Ok - I don't have a link at my fingertips - nor can I even say whether it was a statement to LE or a TV interview or anything specific - but... I seem to recall that GA said the reason that he reported the stolen gas cans was because someone else in the neighborhood had mentioned stolen gas and they thought LE should have the info about his gas cans just incase they were related. Does anyone else recall that?
I think GA did suspect KC from the minute he discovered the gas cans missing but since she had never broken the lock off when she had used his gas before, he thought there was a slim chance that it might not have been her and he should report it since someone else in the neighborhood had some gas stolen too. I think that's why he said something about feeling like an idiot for reporting it when KC gave him back the cans - because he really knew all along that she did it and he didn't stick with his 1st instinct.
I think he's felt that way about a lot of things where KC is concerned since June 2008 and even long before Caylee's death too.
My question is... why did George hide his car in the garage (when it was usually parked on the drive-way) to catch Casey sneaking into the house that day if he really thought that someone else broke into his shed and stole his gas cans? He told LE that he knew Casey had stolen them and that is why he made up the story about needing these wedges? This is the way I took if from what George told LE.
I also believe that all this crap about Casey always running out of gas is another attempt to make her actions during those 31 days seem as normal for Casey as possible. I don't believe that Casey ran out of gas that much... she has complete access to her mothers credit cards and bank account.
