Being such a local identity in the community, on Committees, etc, living in close proximity to the Showgrounds, what are the chances that he had been given a key beforehand?

Do you think this would have come out though in the past couple of years? Someone would have said something by now.

Folks please leave religion out of the discussions thanks.

Also, WS doesn't allow sites or discussions on astrology, psychics, visions etc.

maybe Mt Cootha was a meeting place for gbc and tmch and allison wanted to see where they met, as part of her 15min discussion time, so the drove there and back quickly on the 18th while the nbcs babysat? i can imagine the details of the affair would have been eating away at her, needing to know everything about it.

Lindy Chamberlain was crucified by the media and the public, she belonged to a minority religion and didn't react the way "we" expected her to react. There were no hysterics, she was very stoned faced, yes the baby was dressed in a black lace dress, but their were so many rumours - children falling out of shopping trolleys, "Azaria" meqanin sacrifice in the wilderness, blood in the camera bag, foetal blood splatters in the Torana, the time frame didn't fit right but that didn't matter. The "experts" were found wrong, it was some noise deafening medium rather the blood of a new born. I must admit, I thought she was strange and expected because the police and experts said she was guilty that she was, now it seems that "they" wanted to find her guilty, I am wondering if it is not much the same in this case.

The scratches could have come from Toni, from what has been said of her she seems to have a more aggressive personality than poor Allison (I just remembered why on earth would you sit in a McDonald's car park to discuss your husbands infidelity) who seems to have been a person who kept things to herself. If Allison was capable of fighting hard enough to scratch GBC face, would there not have been some bruises pn her body from the force applied to subdue her, or would decomposition eradicated them?

So I've just been to Kholo Creek bridge for the first time via Moggill and Mt Crosby Rd My husband and I then drove back to Brookfield via Rafting Ground Rd past the showgrounds and the house. After today I most definitely believe the body was placed there (not rolled or dropped off bridge). I was surprised at the amount of traffic but it is Saturday and broad daylight. Here a few photos from today.

Sorry Freya – I should have clarified this… I’ve been reading the forums since the start of the trial, and while it seems like it’s 90% Aussies (and mostly Brisbanites) I was surprised at the number of Americans, Germans and other people posting from overseas. I thought, “How do I describe the vibe of Brisbane?” I think it’s good to get an idea of the context of a culture, and I hadn’t really seen it described yet.

I remember wishing someone had told me a bit more about the Vancouver culture and language before I got there – it certainly would have made things less confusing from the get-go. I wrote a little journal for my friend before she visited Vancouver for the first time, filled with things I wished I’d known when I got there (e.g.“A loonie is a one-dollar coin! The person is not insulting you!” and “DO NOT order a cappuccino! It’s froth and a teensy bit of liquid at the bottom of a cup, and if you pick up a Starbucks cappuccino expecting a heavy drink, you’ll anticipate the weight wrong and it’ll end up sailing out of your hands and over your shoulder!” and “Male strangers opening doors for you: they’re not being sleazy. Canadians really are that polite!” etc.). I gotta admit, cultural differences in very similar Western countries are subtle but SO prevalent: I wound up in the middle of quite a few hilarious misunderstandings within the first 15 minutes of setting foot at Vancouver airport.

Ha ha, I’m loving all of these predicted conversations with GBC and the defence! Keep ‘em coming… It also makes me wonder: has GBC spent the last two years taking vocal/acting lessons, or is it that his Byrne has framed questions so that GBC didn’t include all of his usual “umms” and “ahhhs”? I’m hoping he hasn’t spent the last two years learning how to “act” and not trip up. I want the prosecution to be able to throw him with a few unpredicted questions and the “ummms” and “ahhhs” will come back, tangling his mind and language so that he accidentally slips up and reveals truths, not scripted answers!

Oh God… I didn’t realize GBC helped with the floods clean-up. Of course those who helped out of altruistic motives are to be commended, but I can see GBC “helping” for another reason altogether: to look good. I bet he thought it was good publicity for his business rather than caring about those who were seriously hurt by the floods… if this is true, it’s quite insulting.

I recall Oddsocks saying that everyone here is really against GBC and not keeping an open mind. He seems to have not posted lately (unless I missed it)? I think his perspective would be VERY welcome, especially if he explains in detail why he thinks the circumstantial evidence seems faulty? I will add though that, like many of us, I did have a moment when I trawled through all the evidence and was struck by a thought: “What if he didn’t do it AT ALL?” I sat there stunned for a moment, imagining what it would feel like to be accused of guilt when he didn’t do it. After a few moments, all of the evidence seeped back into my mind… and I thought, “No way he didn’t do this. There’s just WAY too much circumstantial evidence.”

That’s the thing about circumstantial evidence. Yes, it’s circumstantial; yes, it often fails to acknowledge forensic certainty. However, when you have about 50 examples of damning circumstantial evidence, this adds up to a conclusion beyond reasonable doubt: he did it. Also, as this trial has shown us, forensic evidence is not as easy to ascertain as TV shows would have us believe.

Re: Lindy Chamberlain. Can you believe that one of the reasons people thought she was guilty was because she had ONE outfit for her baby that was black?! This was cited as a partial reason for her alleged guilt: “Who dresses a baby in black? She’s psychotic!” A VERY unfair assumption and reminds of NBC stating that Allison was depressed because she wore black!

Enjoyed reading your post! good one for post#3......I have only posted a few lines, and wish I could put together one like yours:blushing:

I would love that something solid could arise that would show GBC with reasonable doubt that he did not do it, so the girls could have there dad out of prison. Though his daughters will now know how much he was not very fair to their mother.

However, as you say abundant circumstantial evidence, with logic, adds to reasonable conclusion that he did do it.

He comes across as cool customer, admittedly too cool at times. He has his schpeel (not sure of spelling) down pat. He had so much pressure on him , a lot ( most) created by himself I must add. Plus, he had TMH stirring the pot.

In short, it comes down to egotistical knuckleheaded snake in over his head loses the plot (control) and kills his loyal wife.

Thanks Makara At 12.25pm Friday 20 April, G phoned the show ground maintenance man.
Very interesting timing.
Something relevant re show grounds .....

Perhaps he had been there earlier and was ringingthe maintenance man to see if HE too had been there, unseen by GBC. The showground has 2 levels - there is a parking area on the top level as well. Remember - he rang Bruce Flegg to ask about a camera at the Kenmore roundabout.

Yeah but we know he is mathematically challenged and in all honesty I reckon men and their percentage contribution estimates would be much like their assesment of their personal endowment measurement and the size of the fish they caught - VASTLY over estimated! My hubby probably thinks he does 50% of parenting and household chores just because he tells the kids to get dressed, have shower etc and takes the rubbish out once a week!
Just a random thought GBC and his accountants mates are not good advertisements for our Universities when people like them get Accountancy degrees.....

Would love to know content of that conversation. Wonder if police spoke with him at the time?
And if he is still around. And able to recall. Considering the news about missing Brookfield woman, Allison Baden Clay, most people would been aware. It was hot news.

I really can't see how the car would have needed to be hosed, except for reasons of paranoia. He could have parked on bitumen. I can see the relevance of vacuuming it.

Possibly. Maybe a tree at Kholo dropped something on it so it needed washing off? It's almost like he WANTED to arouse suspicions isn't it?

"Laughed at undies. Told me I smell."",Said I was so different. Laughed. Why? Afterwards why so mean? "
IMO this deeply personal response from GBC to Allison shows serious abuse. It shows his 'devaluation' of her, his 'rejection' of her body, her underwear and his 'contemptuous' feelings for her.

I am disappointed the PT did not highlight his true feelings of contempt for and rejection of Allison through this scenario. Yes, her diary notes were read out to Court, but a corresponding interpretation as being GBC's true feelings of contempt for Allison was missing. My opinion only.
I reckon all of this will be asked in cross examination

NBC makes me think of my dad. Don't take that the wrong way! My dad's an awesome guy. If my spouse suddenly disappeared, he'd be here for me and he wouldn't be able to stand around doing nothing. Taking the vacuum and popping out to do my job for me is exactly the sort of thing he'd do. I can see him blundering along doing that in front of the cops and being utterly bemused that they were freaking out over a vacuum.

Given that nothing relevant was found by forensics when they checked out the vacuum, I have a hard time putting my helpful, fidgety dad out of my head, a man genuinely unable to stand still and do nothing in a time of stress.

It never hurts to try to consider the known facts from other angles. If you assume NBC is just a bad person then the vacuum incident must be suspicious and relevant and important. What if NBC is (like us all) a nuanced human being capable of good and bad and everything in between, and the thing with the vacuum was nothing more or less than a very involved parent helping out yet again with his son's business? We've spent thousands of words analysing the vacuum thing, which is either an incident of major significance or a red herring. I don't think enough people have considered that there may be nothing to it because it's too easy to see the BCs as bad people and not look for other explanations.

Also, if my spouse ever disappears, my dad is going to get my whole family crucified on this site :D

That track down to below the bridge that you show so nicely in that photo was NOT like that back in April 2012, though. It was much more overgrown, and where the memorial now stands, was that little bit of bitumen then gravel in a sort of lay-by. And between that and the road, adjacent to the bridge railings, where that track now is heading down under the bridge, there were lots of tall bushes and very high grass. It was very well shielded from the road.

Here's a picture from 2009 from Google Earth which shows it the way it used to be. In 2012 it was probably even more overgrown. You can see the area at the bottom right of the picture where the turn-off is into that area. Interestingly the Streetview images are much more recent - they show it as it is now, complete with the memorial.

But you'll see what I mean by being well-shielded from the road.

Does anybody think GBC needs a psychiatric report?

Absolutely! And I'm not trying to be smart here. There is something seriously wrong with him IMO.

And we could get that NPD diagnosis officially. Lol

he's where he is for a reason...murder charge!! As i've said in a previous post, he was a salesman giving the biggest sales pitch of his life. His next 20 or so years depend on that spiel.

No sympathy whatsoever from me. In fact i call it karma for all the mental abuse he dished out to alllison.

Every day we hear of domestic violence cases, physical abuse & violence towards wives, girlfriends/partners. Some of the injuries are horrendous, but physical injuries such as stab wounds, broken bones do heal in time, if that person is still alive. The scarring from mental abuse can last a lifetime.

Mental abuse such as...""laughed at undies. Told me i smell."",said i was so different. Laughed. Why? Afterwards why so mean? ""let me believe it was all my fault and therefore i was at your mercy.force me to look to you - think that's where you wanted me."

cheating on her behind her back & the endless lies that would have gone with all of that.

And not holding her when she needed him the most.

Nup....not a dot of sympathy from me!! Allison's words are what i call sad!!

fully concur !!!
