I see all of the fears of Ron being the rat. While he could be, he has a past history of working with police, I don't think Ron is going to get any deals this time. His baby is missing, he is an addict/seller, so is everyone he knows. Putnam is not that big, or any of its outside contacts. Someone else supplied info and set them up. Probably one angry past user/buyer, and what better time than when LE knows Haleigh cannot be alive, cannot be an abduction, LE knows what went down went down in that trailer, and probably because drugs were involved. Regardless of Ron talking and ratting his way through, Putnam people that were crossed by Ron had to have a pay up for that and for Haleigh, it is now known by the world via the internet that Ron has ratted out just to stay out of jail. Lots of angry people out there about that, the ones in jail and their loved ones probably told on Ron and gang. (Just trying to be positive about it.)
