Does anyone think that the medical people at the prison will make this easier on them or do they just have to sweat it out?
Wicked me, I am hoping for the sweat it out!!!

They are going to sweat it out unless or until it becomes severe enough to require medical intervention. They are probably not feeling very well at the moment at all.

But then again they say the availibility of drugs inside the jails is as plentiful as it is on the outside if not more so.

I'm very interested to find out (if we do) where these pills that were sold came from. I can not find where I read this, but it's my understanding so far that the total # of pills that were sold on 7 different occasions to an undercover officer was right around 350 pills. (?)

That's really not a whole lot, I mean it is..but that amount could easily come from prescriptions of, say...several family members that are or are claiming to be disabled (others besides Hank Sr.) older family with arthritis and the like.

350 pills @ 60 to 100 per script would amount to an estimated 4-7 average scripts. Of course I'm sure they used as much or more as they sold...Even then though, I'm not understanding the big time connections yet. However, I can't help but ponder the possible familial connection though..hmm..

All of the above is nothing more than my own opinion and speculation..

We had a patient that got busted by her insurance company because she was semisuccessfully billing them for all of her prescriptions. She had been seeing seven doctors, using different pharmacy chains and in the course of six weeks had been scripted over 2000 tablets of various narcotics (all in the hydrocodone family).

The insurance company sent letters to all of the prescribing doctors asking if they were aware of the other doctors she was seeing and a multi page print out of all the prescriptions with the receiving doctor's prescriptions highlighted (I think that was in case she was forging prescriptions).

It does not take long to run up a lot of tablets. And then if you have local doc that is running more of a pain clinic (which Florida is supposedly cracking down on) and they are "treating" you for backpain or something chronic like that they can write scripts that are for several hundred tablets at a time.

I don't see there being some big time dealer that is about to be brought down related to this crew. Looks more like small time hustling by people who think they are smarter than they really are. Who have hustled themselves right into a minimum mandatory and a race to see who can cut a deal first.

more than one way to skin a cat as they say....

Is it absolutely certain that Ron & Misty will be behind bars for a very long time?

I don't want Ron to keep getting off the hook for breaking the law.

and is it selfish of me for wanting them to be given the most severe punishment for selling drugs?

Someone could post his bond.
The prosecutor could find that LE overstepped their bounds during their investigation (not suggesting they did) and not pursue the charges.
Some attention seeking attorney could step in and try to get the charges dropped or evidence excluded.

So, no nothing is certain about their future's, but it is not looking good for them at the moment. If any of them know more than they are sharing they should be highly motivated to talk at this point. Of course if they cannot lead them to the body their testimony would be pretty suspect at this point and a defense attorney would claim it was a convenient story for someone facing a minimum mandatory sentence.

Ron can't really strike a deal after claiming he didn't know what happened to his daughter for a year. Misty is a proven liar and has had ample opportunity to tell what she knows. I would imagine anyone trying to strike a deal is going to have to provide some physical evidence. moo

Wow, Misty and Ron were so stupid to get in this mess when it should be obvious they were still under suspicion. Brazen, bold, and very stupid.

I don't know why or how they kept the secret of what happened to Haleigh all this time. I would have thought it extremely hard to go through all they did, especially if on drugs at that time - and they managed to not crack then. Misty looks like she got more into the drugs after. Looks terrible for only 18.

Ron's the Ring Leader. Misty, sorry, doesn't even know what the word numerical means, I doubt she led, but was a frontman for the deals, IMO. Everybody was playing gangsta, and it's going to be a harsh let down for the next week for these wanna-be gangsters. Can Misty have her cigarettes? Gonna be harsh, Misty. I know I'm going to see Ron crying on my tv sometime in the future. I didn't trust his tears then, and sure not gonna now.

JMOO, I think Misty was more involved in whatever happened to Haleigh, but Ron must've bought into keeping it hush for a reason too. In that case, I would hardly call Ron anymore innocent than Misty. Poor Haleigh, what happened to her?

I love to hear the slant on this case from the local people there. Some of the rumors might prove to be true, so please count me in when it's time for sharing.

I suspect that the detectives involved made every attempt to cross their T's and dot their I's. Hopefully that means that they consulted the District attorney before they were charged. I think eventually charges might be reduced for Donna and Hank JR but I have my fingers crossed that everything sticks to Misty & Ron and that whomever does eventually get a deal still goes away for a very long time. With those two even 25 years is a life sentence practically and fine by me.

Didn't know if any of you had seen this yet:

snipped:
As astounding as it sounds, it was 18 year old high school dropout Misty Croslin who turns out to be the alleged mastermind behind the Satsuma gang that couldn’t deal straight, playing right into the hands of a young undercover cop who befriended her and bought enough painkillers to earn her six felony drug trafficking charges, a cell in the St. John’s County, Florida Jail and and possibly decades behind bars if convicted.

“She took the lead,” Putnam County Sheriff spokesman Lt. Johnny Greenwood told www.artharris.com. “She befriended our undercover officer who made seven drug buys; Misty was at all seven,” although she has only so far been charged with six counts.

I doubt Misty is reading Art Harris's site right now, otherwise I'd think they were playing the "aren't you clever" card.

I guess that's that then for the "Poor me, I'm only 17, how could I lie to the LE" defense. If you can sell them drugs you can lie to them.

Everyone looking forward to a family visit and taping? RC is going to implode. He can't handle this. He cannot stand to be left alone. He will be placed on Suicide Watch in a matter of hours imo.

Yes, I am looking forward to it. I wonder if anyone will visit him in jail?
It could be better than Casey's jail house implosion video-where's the popcorn? lol

Hank Sr. to be questioned about the night Haleigh went missing.....

http://www.zimbio.com/Misty+Croslin...Croslin+father+questioned+child+disappearance
Putnam authorities said the investigation revealed that Hank Croslin Sr. obtained approximately 300 Oxycodone and Hydrocodone pills from three different physicians between April and May 2009.

How much do you think Hank and Lisa used for their personal consumption and how much of that was left for Misty & co. to sell?

I suspect that Hank Sr is one of the more arrests are likely crowd. What a family! I do wonder though about this evidence. If any of the parties were just with Misty there is a chance their charges will be reduced. I do believe they have to have active involvement to actually be guilty of trafficking. I am not sure really, I have never had any personal involvement in any felony. I really dont want to see any of them get out of this! I keep wondering how long it will be before one of them wisens up and strikes a deal, and what if Misty knows nothing? I believe she does but she is so very screwed if she really doesnt. She has no leverage otherwise.

Yes, it is absolutely certain, imo. Drug trafficking charges in the amounts they were dealing in are no small potatoes. I was trying to find a video of Thursday's LE press conference and haven't yet. I saw a snippet of it on a news story about the arrests.
At the conference they had all the mugshots, charges and sentences on a big poster board on display.

I was kind of pizzed off on the NG show Thursday-she should do some research before she opens her big mouth. She was saying that each count carried max. 30 yr. sentence and min. 25 yr. sentence which is totally wrong.
So she had Misty at 180 yrs. max. prison time. Of course we were all disgusted with what her producer said about Tim Miller, too.

Here is an explanation of the charges and sentences-it goes by quantity you were caught buying/selling, in the possession of, etc.

1. Any person who knowingly sells, purchases, manufactures, delivers, or brings into this state, or who is knowingly in actual or constructive possession of, 4 grams or more of any morphine, opium, oxycodone, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, or any salt, derivative, isomer, or salt of an isomer thereof, including heroin, as described in s. 893.03(1)(b), (2)(a), (3)(c)3., or (3)(c)4., or 4 grams or more of any mixture containing any such substance, but less than 30 kilograms of such substance or mixture, commits a felony of the first degree, which felony shall be known as “trafficking in illegal drugs,” punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084. If the quantity involved:

a. Is 4 grams or more, but less than 14 grams, such person shall be sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 3 years, and the defendant shall be ordered to pay a fine of $50,000.

b. Is 14 grams or more, but less than 28 grams, such person shall be sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 15 years, and the defendant shall be ordered to pay a fine of $100,000.

c. Is 28 grams or more, but less than 30 kilograms, such person shall be sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 25 calendar years and pay a fine of $500,000.

Tommy has 1 count of 4-14 grams so his man. minimum is 3 yrs. plus the fine. He may not be doing too much time.

Hope has 1 count of 14-28 grams so her man. minimum is 15 yrs. plus the fine.

Donna has 1 count of over 28 grams but less than 30 kilos so her man. minimum is 25 yrs. plus the fine.

This is also how the bond amounts are set-it goes by the quantity you were busted with.

If you look at Ron and Misty's multiple charges they are not all the same amount-NG was way off base on 180 yrs. I am not trying to say they should not get any or lesser time it just ticks me off when NG and other media outlets get stuff wrong, I like facts!

BBM-no, I feel the same way! They are lucky the didn't go across state lines to do business-then it would be federal charges and stiffer penalties.

Misty and ron cummings are not going to talk, imo...as long as they have attorneys. rc will never tell anything. He is slick. He knows his way around the law. Misty loves to talk and it will be difficult so for a while she will say I am not talking w/o my attorney. rc is hopeless; he will simply slip them the finger. If he is guilty of drugs/Haleigh...his lips are sealed. This is why this case has been so difficult. They can't get anything out of RC.

Twall...looks like Donna supplied the drugs by the amounts you posted of the four.

What charges does Ron have again? Are any of his minimum sentences at 15 or higher? Because I really dont take into account how many charges there are. What I mean is most judges sentence each one but they run concurrently, and most know that its wishful thinking to even hope they could get 180 years. I didnt realize Donna's was so high so then why does she have the same bond practically as Tommy and Hope?! That makes me wonder what she had to smirk about in her mugshot.

I had no idea I'd be taken for such a ride by this whole bunch. I thought this was a case about a little girl missing. I think it's awesome they got arrested. Waiting for the truth to come out, the sooner the better. Haleigh.

I know in St. John's Co. he had 1 count of over 28 g. but less than 30 kg. 25 yr. mand. min. sentence. I believe his max. is 43 yrs. so that would equal 1 25 yr. (over 28 g.), 1 15 yr.(14-28 g.) and 1 3 yr. (4-14 g.).

Good point about the concurrent sentences. And the 180 yrs. came from Miz Nancy's mouth-she likes to exaggerate ya know!
Don't know about the bonds-all I know is they are set by the amt. you are busted with.
The more the higher the bond, less lower bond.

Oh dear, Whisperer, so Ron is that slick. Sounds like you think his lips are sealed forever about Haleigh. Maybe you're right about Ron and Misty, but someone on the fringe that has been arrested may start talking. What you say must be true, it has been difficult for a long time now, but LE has more leverage now with the drug bust.

so they both bought and sold...

We know they had to have some major money to buy this amount. Seems like they were selling for $10.00 a pill, which is the street price. RC may have bought them for $5.00. With just this one guy who bought seven times, he paid them $3,900. R & M should have put up about $2,000 JUST for this guys supply. How much more did they have? Rc has been buying for some time....about eight years. He must have given up his source after all the arrests and the courts let him go for doing so, imo.

Donna could be part of a sting...IDK. They could be using Hank Sr.s prescription plus other family members....but if it is Roxy, they are probably going to somebody such as Jerome. Amber, Nay and WBG should be a good source of info for the LE...imo.

I wonder why the charging docs are estimating the prices so low. I have heard they go for way more in Chicago for example. Of course I cant even back that up because I really have no clue. It is just what I have heard.

Or maybe they were so plentiful to the bunch that they could afford to corner the market with the best prices around!?

I believe that they usually sell for anywhere from $3.00- $10.00 on the street. Depending of course on the mg. as well as which one of the drugs we are talking about. They are plentiful and that's what is so scary. I know of several people on fixed incomes that will sell their pills each month to pay their bills and I'm talking about people in their 70's and 80's. It really is sad...
