so they both bought and sold...

We know they had to have some major money to buy this amount. Seems like they were selling for $10.00 a pill, which is the street price. RC may have bought them for $5.00. With just this one guy who bought seven times, he paid them $3,900. R & M should have put up about $2,000 JUST for this guys supply. How much more did they have? Rc has been buying for some time....about eight years. He must have given up his source after all the arrests and the courts let him go for doing so, imo.

Donna could be part of a sting...IDK. They could be using Hank Sr.s prescription plus other family members....but if it is Roxy, they are probably going to somebody such as Jerome. Amber, Nay and WBG should be a good source of info for the LE...imo.

Yes, they were buying, too. That is what Ron and Misty were doing the night of the bust.

From the PCSO press release:

Today, the second phase of the operation was concluded. Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin purchased trafficking amounts of prescription medications from undercover investigators. Both individuals were immediately arrested and taken into custody without incident. The other individuals were arrested on active arrest warrants resulting from this investigation.

I believe that they usually sell for anywhere from $3.00- $10.00 on the street. Depending of course on the mg. as well as which one of the drugs we are talking about. They are plentiful and that's what is so scary. I know of several people on fixed incomes that will sell their pills each month to pay their bills and I'm talking about people in their 70's and 80's. It really is sad...

That is sad, I didnt know there are elderly people that have to do that. I guess I was naive in thinking that prescription drugs were not such a plentiful thing.

There is just SO much money that can be made from pain meds AND they are doled out easily in so many cases. You figure if you have ins. or medicaid then a generic script of 100 tablets costs around 10.00 - $ 15.00. Then 100 tablets x $5.00 = $500.00. That's insane!

Thanks for the information about Jerome. I didn't know that. I think that your sentence (bolded above) explains whey Misty told Nay Nay and White Boy Greg why she was going back to Ron. She said that Ron gave her what she wanted. IMO, that meant the drugs. Ron got her to need them and he supplied them. I think that is how he got all the young women to keep coming back to him.

I think this also explains WHY RC had such an affinity for underage girls - he may have USED them in his business because juveniles get off much more easily.

My opinion only

Everyone looking forward to a family visit and taping? RC is going to implode. He can't handle this. He cannot stand to be left alone. He will be placed on Suicide Watch in a matter of hours imo.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, especially the part about Junior being with Crystal :woohoo: :woohoo:

ok, So Ron is looking at 43 years behind bars. How much is Misty looking at?

It REALLY stinks to be her right now, only recently turned 18 and already her youth and best years ahead of her are now down the drain.

I'm with ya..I am thinking his "Mules"... I am still thinking that there is another party to this operation. Wonder when LE will catch up with them?
These five had to get the drugs from someone, I also would like to know who? :waitasec:How did they get their hands on so many pills?
I do recall that TN said early on that Ron and Misty had to go to the Dr. to gets meds to help them cope. I also recall someone saying that Ron got pain meds for an injury. But nobody could ever figure out what injury since he is not on any type of disability. He was working before Haleigh went missing and from the sound of it, he was working the day he got arrested for drugs at the tree service.

I agree there's someone else.

hmmmmmmmmmm.............

Sykes declined to comment as to whether she knew the drug trafficking was taking place.

"Right now we are just basically numb," Sykes said.

So that means yes then?

Ron and Misty lived with her, I think she had a pretty good idea what they were up to.

TN too, since she knows that it was all Misty's fault and Misty got Ron into it. How could she have known that if she had no idea what was going on until the 20th?

Wonder how detox is going for everyone?

If rc were not guilty, he would turn on a dime...

He may have already done so. We just don't know what it going on. Who saw a set of arrests at this magnitude, with these high bails, and this many people, coming? But kudos to LE for developing this big stick (metaphorically) to use in finding Haleigh.

Do we know if the $3900 was the amount involved in just the last transaction or the total from all of the deals ? I would think that they are talking about one transaction in regards to the $3900 ?

You guys may want to go down to the current Haleigh scanner thread and read the last 10-15 pages---Levi was there last night and there was a good discussion.

I imagine AS is overjoyed now that Ron isn't living with her anymore. Ron, Misty, and Jr are exactly where they should be. AS was likely reluctant to rat on her grandson and now her problem is taken care of for her. I suspect she feels a great sense of relief knowing she has her house to herself again.

My reading is that 3.900 is the sum total.

"An undercover Putnam County Sheriff's Office Detective purchased large quantities of prescription medications from this group on seven (7) separate occasions. The estimated street value of prescription drugs seized is $3,900.00."

From the press release by lt. Greenwood.

Maybe a MOD can copy the posts up here in the Haleigh forum and give Levi a thread so we can continue the discussion up here! :)
