I was under the impression that it was OP who told police that workmen had been working on his house and had left the ladders there.

So could OP have purposely borrowed the ladders himself that day from Christos and put them there? Therefore, OP will not be able to prove that workmen were there or could it be both?

If it can be proven that ladder/s were intentionally left there by OP or workmen told to leave them there, it will indicate a strong case for premeditation from that time. Otherwise, no one would leave ladders lying around if you were security conscious.

Also if RS had been staying there for a few days, the conflict between OP and RS could have been escalating - hence OP conceived this plan.

It was Christos' ladder, he worked (was working) on the house; he left it. No one else.

Just because it was Christo's ladder, I did not think that I could assume that he was also the workman.

Surely if Christo could afford a house in that complex, one or two of his workmen would have been asked to do the work.

What work was being done?

Was it being done near the bathroom?

Had the work been finished?

Were there one or two ladders found?

Botha explains why he's still convinced OP intentionally killed Reeva.

http://abcnews.go.com/International...-intentionally/story?id=19080527#.UYkBF8panX8

I do think OP killed RS purposely, in the heat of passion, but to play devil's advocate for a minute.... Botha discusses the window, and the theory that no one could fit through it. But that alone does not rule out OP jumping to a conclusion that a burglar came through the window. Defense attorneys could argue he didn't take time to calculate the size of the window in his desperation.

Also, the suggestion that RS had been staying there for 2-3 days... I guess that means she had spent the night there over that course of time but left during the day. I think both RS and OP were thinking along serious relationship terms, despite claims to the contrary by friends and acquaintences.

Has anyone ever heard about the first sample of OP's urine being lost?

Hey again ;)
..
Yes I heard / maybe read somewhere abt that before but don't know why we didn't discuss that here .. Estelle thanks for reminding that ..

If that's true apparently another clue that OP and his private forensics stuff worked very well (!) and it's not surprising at all .. Money can buy many things and people buy what's sold..

I think that there is also another window in the bathroom part.. A larger one..
Remember from the affidavit ' I noticed that the bathroom window was open and I didn't see anyone in the bathroom' ... But why would an intruder coming in from the bathroom window would go to the toilet part and closes the door?? But I still think defence will claim OP thought the intruder might come in from that bathroom window...

I believe that , it was not quiet possible for a person to climb to that bathroom/toilet in the second floor as I think that there is not a window or balcony under it.. just a wall...so they added that ladder in the garden detail somehow to support his theory ...

Was the ladder left there delibaretly ? It 's possible .. but we dont have enough knowledge abt that for now..

I think that Christo the neighbor has a job not related with the ladder or workers or constructions or whatever.. He is just a guy having a ladder in his house. So if that's the case why is the contruction job in OP' s house done with the neighbor's ladder? Didn't the construction firm/workers have a ladder of their own ?? Thanks to Christo had that damn ladder... not only OP's house could be constructed/painted but also helped his comic tale ...:floorlaugh:

Vanity Fair June 2013

The Shooting Star and The Model
When Oscar Pistorius—the South African “Blade Runner,” who overcame a double amputation to compete in the Olympics last year—shot his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine’s Day, the millions he’d inspired were faced with a shocking possibility: that their hero was also a killer. With Pistorius claiming that Steenkamp’s death was an accident, Mark Seal delves into the murder case that has rocked the country, and the paths the couple took to that fatal night.

Hi everyone. Been pretty absent but wondering where we are with the case. When's the next court appearance?

So according to the article in Vanity Fair, Botha thinks Reeva was cowering in the toilet cubicle with her arms crossed and that would explain the bullet going through her left fingers before penetrating also her right/elbow arm. So four bullet casings found outside of the toilet door yet only three bullets hitting Reeva causing four wounds, though a fourth bullet could have missed her.

RP earlier in an interview said he saw a mark on the toilet wall and realised a bullet was in the toilet bowl. If it is true that brain tissue was on that bullet in the bowl it would suggest it exited Reeva's skull (as Shane earlier posted possibly a through and through) maybe before hitting the wall and landing in the bowl .

I wonder were there actually four bullet holes in the door or could they really tell for sure before forensic examination since parts of the door had been broken off with a bat. Also OP didn't disclose how many shots he fired in his affidavit. If forensics determine that three were fired through the door why then a fourth casing found outside the toilet.

Hopefully a lot of questions will be answered at his next court appearance.

Any new updates on the case?

Well you have that pretty well descrbed spatially. Now tie it in temporally.
(And I think both sides agree on 4 shots fired. )

The talk seems to be all about the Vanity Fair article.

A New Vanity Fair Story Shows that Oscar Pistorius Is a Jerk. But Is He a Murderer?

After reading Seal’s piece, I’m convinced that Oscar Pistorius is kind of a jerk. But while the piece definitely nudges the reader toward the conclusion that he murdered Steenkamp, it hasn’t cleared up all reasonable doubt. Lots of athletes and high-achieving people are aggressive jerks. But from where I’m sitting, it’s still possible that the jittery, aggressive Pistorius believed he was shooting at a burglar. Pistorius is a guy who, as I wrote in February, once tweeted about mistaking his noisy washing machine for a burglar. The Times of London reported on Pistorius’ “excess energy,” how he struggled to fall asleep. “He told the New York Times that when a house security alarm went off recently, he grabbed the gun he kept by his bed and crept downstairs. It turned out to be nothing,” the paper reported. Pistorius seems like exactly the sort of person who might shoot first and ask questions later.

Not impressed with this guy at all. Nothing new there (but thanks anyway Pattticake).

This guy even attributes things to Mark Seal that were actually in other previous articles.

Now here is something new and important!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/disability-sport/22601462

Oscar Pistorius will not compete for the rest of the year

"His agent, Peet van Zyl, said the six-time Paralympic champion was not mentally ready to return to the track."

hmm, the sun is the only one carrying the story and this is the first I have heard of this girl! Sure lots of wanna-be's will be crawling out the woodwork! :p

No new news this side of the world, in fact, OP seems but a distant memory. Hoping the court appearance introduces some new evidence next month but not holding my breath!!

Hope everyone is well! :)

So you think this woman is making it all up?

As far as no big stories--isn't the no racing for 2013 a pretty big OP story?
