So is there now a question about whether the McCanns and their friends were in the Tapas bar vs. the restaurant?
No she got that wrong they were in the restaurant for sure

Holy macaroni - it just keeps getting stranger all the time!

I don't think we should get mixed up about the Tapas Restaurant - that's where they were according to the BBC:

Heather, remember we speculated that Gerry and Justine had some kind of disagreement shortly around the 100 day mark of Madeleine's disappearance when someone named David Hughes was supposed to take over.

For 89 days work, Justine McGuiness charged $104,000. That's a lot of money for less than three months of employment.

Hi Cali (Chargers spanked the Broncos, yes? :p )

Yep, I remember we thought it was a very sudden departure and we wondered why.

Did you read that she was charging 350 pounds a day!?!? That's $700 US dollars!!! Man, must be nice. Then I guess she charged a bunch of overtime.

Reading about this just made me angry that anyone, would in any way, take advantage of the fund that is supposed to be going to find our girl!!

I wish people would do something with that money that looked like it was really doing something productive toward bringing Madeleine home!!

:furious:

That overtime had to come as a nasty surprise! She seemed to have no problem running up that massive overtime/expense report--Guess she figured hanging out with journalists and reporters and buying drinks meant more publicity for Madeleine in the end?

I can see getting some expenses paid as long as it was not lavish and I can understand maybe a 100 bucks a day.

The 700 dollars a day,the expenses and over time charges is just making my skin crawl!

This is suppose to be about finding little Madeleine not lining your on pocket Justine!!

350GBP per day = £31,000 then 20,000GBP expenses on top to include overtime, food & drink WOW!

God there have been so many articles I cannot remember I will try to find the link & post tomorrow.

Maybe I am missing something here - but what would be surprising about finding Madelines hairs either behind the sofa in it ior anywhere in the villa - she was living there for a week - unless I suppose the hairs can tell us somethng about how she died , where she died etc etc

I think it is relevant as there was reported to have been blood also found behind the sofa, the area had been washed several times.

More spin from Clarence:

http://www.independent.ie/world-new...job-return-when-named-as-suspect-1117273.html

That starts off as an article about how Gerry "put off" going back to work as a Doctor. Both he and Kate have no careers, apparently.

Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell has revealed that if they hadn't been made suspects, Gerry would have gone back to Glenfield Hospital in Leicester where he is a cardiologist.

"Kate doesn't wish to go back to work for the foreseeable future at all as a GP. Since becoming suspects both felt they aren't in a mental position to be able to concentrate on people's health -- particularly, in Gerry's case, in such a specialist area as heart disease.

"So he will not be going back to work for the foreseeable future," he said.

But the second half is all spin from Clarence Mitchell: It's all about "child trafficking" in North Africa. Yes, in spite of the fact that every lead is a dead end there so far. But he's doing a good job of telling people to look "elsewhere" rather than at the McCann's.

And right at the end he brings up the "sighting" by Jane Tanner again. It's a great piece of Pro-McCann propaganda.

Is anyone surprised? I said it before and I'll say it again. The Mc Canns are VERY comfortable with the arrangement of Madeleine's fund paying for all their expenses, food, clothing, mortgage, recreation...why in the world they would want to go back to work??? They have friends and relatives helping them with the kids, millionaire sponsors paying for legal fees and PR agent...NO WAY THEY ARE GOING BACK TO WORK IN THE NEAR FUTURE!!!

Of course...all that would stop once Madeleine is found and that's why they are working VERY HARD to ensure she is found, no?

Fox news saying McCann's are close to being ruled out as suspects. Sorry if this is a duplicate post, but it's the first I've heard of this today.

How in the world can they be ruled out???

Because of the evidence to be "inconclusive", remember they have TOP lawyers and LOTS of money to spend, they are not like Murrat.

If it's the villa, no Madeleine didn't live there. That's where her parents moved after leaving the resort.

Yeah, that's true. Money talks.

But, still, they are the #1 suspects in my opinion.

ITA! Why on earth should they work? I don't believe for one minute that they would be welcome back at work anyway! Way too controversial now!
Huh, the fund won't last long!
