I was quoting Ed McMahon from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I say that by habit - ma'am.

Church discretionary funds that a local bishop would have access to aren't supposed to go to attorneys fees. If his bishop is giving him money for that, the bishop should prepare to get a strongly worded letter from Salt Lake.
........admitting up front............i have no idea how the funds are allotted...church 'discretionary $$$'s etc...", but..

...wouldn't the church ask for /want some sort of a break down, asset s vs liabilities....help them with a budget ? ie: " oh, i see there are 2 licensed drivers...........you have numerous vehicles.....what can you sell off ?" that sort of thing.....??

...would that be the norm in a situation where he's asking for help with rent, and help with attorney fees? ( fees incurred due to felony activity ...?)

Are you sure? I thought that in the event that the person (whose name is the principle account holder) passes away, the debts become null. Now that might be different if you applied for credit together. I've got things that only have my name on it and not my husband's.
My individual credit card account WILL come after my husband for payment of any debt upon my death. What's worse is that the debt is expected to be paid in full at that point unless arrangements are made between him and the creditor.

You are correct, Lauriej. The Church does indeed review the finances in great detail to determine what discretionary spending can be eliminated. The Church does NOT pay for legal defense. PERIOD.

I mentioned earlier that is possible that some members in the ward donated money to help him, OR, his attorney may be a member as well. Mack is a well known Mormon name out west. Just a hunch.

**UNCONFIRMED INFORMATION**

I heard from a someone outside of WS, that Raven has left Virginia... If he's not already in Utah, then he's on his way there...

If true, certainly interesting as it relates to the ongoing embezzlement charges, and IF he's still a POI regarding Janet's murder. Makes you wonder if LE knows this, if true.

Anyone heard this same info, or, able to confirm it?

I personally can't confirm this, but I have heard from a number of people that Raven has indeed left and the plan was to head to Utah.

Maybe we need to consider letting the Utah media know the story.

He can run...but he can't hide:D I think keeping LE advised of what we know, confirmed or unconfirmed, is still important until he is released as a POI. I would guess if LE is tired of hearing from us, they would make a statement saying husband is not a POI, they haven't, so they must still want information...evidence. Of course we would give them information about any other suspects, just haven't found any...hmmmmm????

..........any idea of the date when raven left for utah ?

VX sightings :

06/13/2005, 06:25 AM
Ironman in Columbus, Ohio
Rt. 23 North of 270 on 6/12/05

It was driven my a man accompanied by his son. He seemed a little startled when I quickly approached him. I was actually going to leave a note on his VX when he walked up. We did not discuss whether it was new to him or any of its history

Quote from vehicross.info: "It was driven my a man accompanied by his son. He seemed a little startled when I quickly approached him. I was actually going to leave a note on his VX when he walked up. We did not discuss whether it was new to him or any of its history. He did tell me it had something like 96K miles on it. He was unaware of vehicross.info. It was very clean looking. The tires had been dressed. Surprisingly, it had original shocks. I did not know they could last that long"

This post on Vehicross doesn't necessarily sound like Raven was the driver. If I saw a man traveling with his INFANT son, I would state so in some way. This man's son could have been a teenager... Also, this sighting was made on 6/12/05, the second day of the beach volleyball in VA. From what I've heard of Raven, I also don't think he would be "startled" if someone approached him (unless, of course, he thought he was getting caught at something). He seems to be the gregarious type, and would, IMHO, be quite excited to discuss his VX! Also, the poster indicated the driver didn't know about the Vehicross web site.

Of course, that doesn't mean he's not in Utah now. Just my first thoughts on the matter. I'm open to new information. ;)

..you're right..it was a 'sighting' on the 12th....posted on the 13th....( hadn't noticed that...)

...also.........i have heard ( since posting ) that raven headed west on last thursday....so that would be the 16th...

...interesting, his own fellow VX'ers will be on the lookout , as they are, and we'll quite likely see a 'sighting' posted as they see his black VX on the road.....IF he's even driving the VX..................anyone have that info ?

The VX, the Durango (oops the PD has that), the Ducati or the Acura. Does anybody have the information on what year, color, model the Acura was? Would be interesting to see if he has it up for sale.

..it was posted previously that janet's family has /is driving the acura......

...right..............durango would be with LE....

...assuming he has kaiden with him on the trip west..........he would be driving the VX.....?

I don't know where the conversation has gone since yesterday morning ... I will be catching up shortly. Yet, I remember that we were discussing unsolved murder rates a while back, and came across some really interesting statistics while researching stats for a different case. Here is what I found at the Department of Justice website:

Bureau of Justice Statistics Homicide trends in the U.S.: Clearances

The percentage of homicides cleared by arrest has been declining

  • In 2002, 64% of all homicides were cleared compared to 79% in 1976
  • Homicide has the highest clearance rate of all serious crimes ...
Police are more likely to identify a suspect if the victim is a child

Happy Birthday Janet. :(
Today is Janet's birthday. She would have been 26. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts today.

Have we considered the possibility that he flew out to UT? I know for me, personally, that would be a long drive with an infant.

I've really been thinking about that one Moxie ... I know that his family has the Acura, so it's possible that he flew with Kaiden and when he returns for his court date on the embezzlement charges he can drive back by himself.

I didn't even think about the court date in July - GM, you are right - that makes sense. Question - since it looks like he is still in arrears in NC for not paying taxes on his cars, can NC put a lien on the VX?

Ya know, I'm not really sure about that. I know that he had stated he was behind in the payments. I suspect the VX payments isn't the only one behind. Wonder where he'll get the cash to catch everything up and pay those taxes?

And speaking of the taxes, we know that Janet paid them on the Acura, so I'm assuming that was *her* car. What if during the separation Raven left his wife high and dry without a vehicle or the credit standing to secure a car? Someone probably had to co-sign for her to purchase that vehicle.
