I think he's hanging out on the east coast to attend a meeting in which his attendance was requested.

My understanding is that he intends to make Utah his home.
Then we need to flood the Utah media with this case. Make sure that a young, naive little Mormon girl doesn't get snagged in his web (I could see it now. They'd be all over him, a widower with a baby--catnip as gm would call it).

Wait, wansn't there some talk of a relationship with a Jennifer out there?

...maybe you're thinking of his "dear friend jenny" of jenique.com, who helped him with the graphic design of his website..?

No kidding! But why would he have to get a job when he has news articles out there soliciting monies for the "Help Me Buy my Toys, Keep up my Image, Travel Coast to Coast, Keep Me out of Jail" Fund...AKA The (Utah) Janet Memorial Fund.
You are spot on!! That is what we need to call it now - "The Raven Help ME Buy my Toys, Keep up my Image, Travel Coast to Coast, Keep Me out of Jail" Janet Memorial Fund.

He is such a poser.

JF,

You are absolutely right. If Raven is guilty of this crime, we do not want a young, naive and good mormon girl to fall into his awful web of lies and death. And he is just cunning and savvy enough to change his identity around (name, ss#, etc) to try to avoid any connection with his past.

We need to keep flooding the UT media with this - maybe the angle would be, LE isn't talking, why isn't Raven??

We also need to make sure that we are on his trail in terms of him changing his name, identity, etc.

Let's be accurate about this. The local Bishop is responsible for not only the welfare of the members in his ward, but also the nonmembers as well. You don't have to be a worthy member in order to receive assistance. However, if you are a member and not living the commandments, a plan would be put in place to get you where you need to be. I've personally seen the Church give money to individuals who aren't even members. There was a local church of another denomination that was destroyed by fire, and our Stake President donated a considerable amount of money to them to assist in rebuilding. This isn't done frequently, but it does happen. The Church DOES encourage you to go to your family first for assistance.

It's based on individual cases. Not everyone gets money. I don't know the exact situation with your bishop but I know the church isn't making it a habit to give money to just anyone that says they need it. You are correct in saying that you do have to have a plan to get you where you need to be. As far as your Stake President goes...(giving money to assist another church) I can't say I've ever heard that before. Doesn't mean I don't think that is possible I just think that it again goes on an individual bases as well as that particular area. Meaning who is able to give tithing or not.

Well just so you know, the Church in Salt Lake City donated funds to the Catholic church's renovation of a cathedral there as well. I don't mean to seem like a know-it-all, but when it comes to Church policy or doctrine, I'm WELL informed. Being a former Priesthood leader, returned missionary, and 5th generation member of the Church, I tend to be accurate. Bishops are encouraged to help those in need, regardless of their standing with the Church, keeping in mind that any potential abuse must be avoided. It's governed by common sense and inspiration from on high.

So the common sense would state, help Raven and Janet out with rent because they have a little baby and it's not Janet's and Kaiden's fault that Raven stole money, got fired and ruined Janet's job and why should they "suffer"....but how much common sense would it make now to give Raven money? Would it make more sense because he is a single father with no job or less sense since the cause of his problems are him?

If Raven is receiving church assistance now--which I sincerely doubt--it would NOT be monetary assistance. The church also provides food and household essentials, which they deliver to you or can be picked up at a church welfare office. If he were getting help with rent (which he doesn't seem to need because his old apartment is up for grabs and he is staying with friends and familly) the church would pay the landlord directly. No money would be handed over to Raven at all. But yes, if the church was helping him (again, a big IF), I would assume it would be for Kaiden's sake.

With his moving around over the last 2 months he wouldn't be able to get assistance from his old ward in Durham simply because he hasn't been there. He would have to permanently relocate to another ward before he could request assistance from a new Bishop.

http://www.thenews-gazette.com/articles/2005/07/06/news/local2.txt

Both she and her husband were formerly employed at Eurosport, a sporting goods company in Hillsborough, but they both left their positions — Janet Abaroa voluntarily — after Hillsborough police charged Raven Abaroa with embezzling more than $9,000 from the company, according to arrest warrants. His June 22 (sic)( actually june 10th )trial date in Orange County was continued until July 22, but a clerk at the Orange County Superior and District Court said that he may be indicted in the interim.

...i was just re-reading this on the media thread.......

...what does that mean........."may be indicted in the interim"?
...earlier than expected on the embezzlement?
...indicted on ?...........murder charges...? prior to going to court july 22 on the embezzlement ?

...interim.............meaning between now and then...
...and, we know he has plead guilty to the embezzlement....( correct ?)

...can anyone clarify what that means ?

Hi,

I was just browsing before bedtime, and I did another search for
a memorial of "some kind" and came across this.

Please, please, please, my apologies if this has already been discussed,
as I came across this site by search engine a few moments ago.

So...here is what I located, and please know, that I thought this site
belonged to Raven for his business, not personal, but as of July 1, 2005 , Google did cache this on the webiste....
( I tried to locate this to see if it was duplicated , but did not see it on this site yet)
