I found this article covering the Haleigh Cummings' case from very early on. Interesting parts and pieces with LE statements.

Thought I would share it and stimulate a bit of insight from y'all.

Yep, it's me posting on my own post, LOL. I found this part to be a little bit interesting from the link above:

"According to authorities, polygraph tests have been administered to Haleigh's father, 24-year-old Ronald Cummings, and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Misty Croslin. Cummings has told the media that they both passed; officials will not comment on the validity of his claims.

Earlier today, Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy said that investigators have collected evidence from Cummings' mobile home but would not describe the evidence.

"I can't discuss what evidence was taken into custody," Hardy said. "I don't want to reveal what was found or not found."

The evidence has since been sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Regional Crime Lab for analysis.

Speaking with Fox News, Putnam County Sheriff's Office Capt. Steve Rose confirmed reports that there have been prior problems with Cummings, Croslin, and the children. He refused to elaborate on what the problems were, saying only, "There have been some investigations done through the Department of Children and Families," Rose said."

Yep, but what caught my eye on this part is that he included Croslin.

I still find it very strange that the DCF investigation into Ron's abuse claims still resulted into Ronald being found a fit parent.............amazing! :waitasec:
I'm curious about the problems with Cummings, Croslin and the children......could it be possible that someone called in to report that the children were being left alone??????

so there were investigations during the short time misty was watching them? would there be an issue with her age? or is that not an issue they would handle?

that was suppose to be in my post...lol, guess i should read my post before posting it. You are right Lone- that is what caught my attention.

Honestly, it doesn't surprise me in the least that DCF failed AGAIN. google it, all the cases DCF has been involved and you will see most children in Florida have been failed by DCF. There are children that have been lost in the DCF system. Children weren't checked up, like the case workers reports they were.

I mean just a few weeks ago, there were two children found in a vehicle along the highway, they were foster children, and the foster parents douced them in something that killed one of them. and several injured her twin brother, who has lived to tell LE who did this to him. i ask myself -Why did it have to go this far? Why wasn't someone checking on those children once a week/month?

This comes as no surprise to me. I would think DCF would have a problem with a 14 year old watching two young children overnight, especially when this 14 year old was suppose to be in school herself. i know i would never leave my son with a 14 year old, and he is going to be 9 in two weeks, much less two very young children.

Not only did HaLeigh's family fail her, but so did DCF and while i am at it The State of Florida! JMO

I don't feel that her age and her acting as "babysitter" would be an issue. There are so many things that could have been an issue it's like choosing an entree from a mile long buffet.......LOL.

Misty was sixteen when she started "babysitting" Ron and the children....IMO, old enough in years to watch over the children,...........way too young to be rolling in the hay with a full grown man. Usual reports to DCF would include child abuse, child neglect, children being in an environment filled with drugs, sex, guns and violence.....and then worse of course.

I agree it wasn't her age for being a babysitter that mattered, it was the fact that she was a live-in babysitter/mother/lover/druggie. No one at that age, with that degree of dysfunctionally, could be all those things to all those people: RC, HC & Jr.

Oh don't misunderstand me. I agree that the entire situation was a dysfunctional cluster, I was just saying that I don't think DCF would have been called due to Misty living there. I think there had to have been other things going on, like drug dealing, violence, abuse of Misty and the children, the children being left alone or neglected. These are the type of things that people usually report to DCF. I don't think DCF gave a flying .....bird about Misty living with Ron. You really don't want to get me started on what I think of how the DCF handled the investigation of Ronald abusing the children. I would definitely be put into time out or banned completely. LOL.

LT .. thanks for posting the information and the link above. It says to me that ron and misty did not pass the poly. It also tells me they got something of interest from the MH. Didn't LE remove a panal/wall area from inside the home?

I hope Rose is still working for PCSO. He seems to always get it right.

Regarding DCF. I think Crystall may have reported ron and misty. She may have observed something with the children when she had visitation.

I also think RC would be piazzed at CS and retaliate. That is his MO. I believe he had the State file for back support in retaliation.

I'm still curious as to how Crystal met Ronald. Tn was livind in Leesburg. We will all see that she never lived on Rita lane BTW as we sleuth this case. TN is now registered as living there as of March 2010.

So TN and her son were residing in Leesburg when Crystal started visiting..okay. At one time I had over twenty addys for her in less than 15 years. She doesn't let any grass grow under her feet. Neither did her son.

I bet TN treated Crystal like a princess. Crystal was the buffer between ron and herself. She liked her being there for that reason. This is how I look at those two teeners being together. If TN was cruel or didn't make it comfortable for Crystal, she wouldn't have been there and she wouldn't have defied her mother in coming home.

Hi, Could the issue had been the court stipulations for Ron gaining complete custody of his children that he would be living with his mother and she would provide babysitting when he had to work?

That wasn't happening. Instead the children were being cared for by his teenage girlfriend when he was gone from the home. Misty could be the absolutely best babysitter in the world, but I don't think that was what was decided upon in the custody hearing.

Then again, I think your idea of a report about the children being left alone woud also raise the concerns.

Okay, I am gonna ask a stupid question. If that is Misty in the picture, do they allow prisoners to wear belts?

No belts allowed to be worn by any inmate in California. Florida is sure alot different but I don't think they would go that far.. IMO, the pic is fake.

There was a brief time TN resided in Satsuma on Shoreline and that was at the time of ron's court custody hearing in december 2005. Ron was showing up @ Rita Lane by Spring of 2006.
