There are a lot of illegal migrants here in Florida, usually a bunch of men living together in smaller rural areas. Occasionly there's a small article in the newspapers about them being robbed and/or beaten if someone had seen it and reported it. The migrants themselves will not report anything for fear of deportation. One could easily go missing and never heard from again and it wouldn't be reported for the same fear of deportation.
Some people look upon them as easy prey for some quick money since the migrants don't use banks and keep their money with them. Also women go to them for a quick buck, some times with one of their boyfriends along for protection (think guns) while they ply their "tprofession" with the men. Also some drug activity but this is mostly marijuana.
Now if some people were teaming up together and doing these activities and something went wrong like someone killed (someone that wouldn't be reported) but yet they knew they couldn't ever inform on each other about anything without all of them going down.
Misty was gone that weekend with another man and Ron wasn't happy about it. I think he had a gun out threatening her and they were scuffling and Haleigh got in the way. And the reason they are lying and not saying anything is because of another crime they were involved in before. Thus the protection of each other even if they weren't involved in what happened to Haleigh.
my :twocents:
I agree, but I dont think Ron and Misty killed a migrant worker and thats the main secret. Also, anything that Misty would have ever been involved with, other than murder, she was a minor, Ron taught her well they could never get her on anything if she was a minor, and btw, I would love to see what his juvenile record entailed.
I think shes loyal to Ron because he accidentally killed Haleigh because he was so mad at her. She knows he didn't mean it and feels guilty. jmo
BBM - Em read further down, I was referring the Patsy Ramsey saying that.
....For the record that pickup truck with the decals in large letters telling everyone to basically kiss his a#$, annoyed the bejeesies out of me.
Crescent City sounds right to me, Whisp. Other towns as well, but seems CC had quite a few IIRC from early on in this case.
Where I live there is one county that was well known for the courts' revolving doors. Arrests were made and just about everyone got off or at most a slap on the wrist. There was always a high percentage of crime there but usually nothing real serious.
One time about 25 years ago there was a murder there. It's a small county and just by the process of elimination everyone who lived there knew who did it, including LE. The newspapers reported for many weeks on this murder but all LE would ever say was they were working on it. There was apparently not much by way of forensic evidence but there was a whole boatload of circumstantial evidence. Months went by and finally the perp was arrested, but within weeks he was released and nothing ever came of that case. It remains *unsolved*.
When the news article came out about the DA deciding not to take the case to trial, one of the attorneys in the office I worked in at that time just shook his head and said, "If you ever need to kill someone, do it in [that county]."
Truer words were never spoken.
It looks to me like in Florida, Putnam County is *that county*.

All this "Mexican" talk, which for some reason I find kinda racist.......
This isnt some complex story involving everyone and its a big conspiracy against Ron and Misty. Its so simple, she died as a result of her fathers terrible temper and Ron WISHES he was a drug dealer who had all these mega connections, he was simply a user who dealt enough to eat his pills for free. IMO, hes a truly terrible human being and deflection should not be cast off him for one second. He was NOTHING, in regards to the drug game.
I'm beginning to think that we are neighbors, LOL.
If you really want to see just how far high ranking officials will go to cover up their dirty deed, like drug running look up Davina Buff Jones, a young police officer working on the elite Bald Head Island. She had discovered drug runners on this very wealthy, elite island and had called Fed agents to report it. Her murder was covered up by LE and the sheriff's department as well as congressmen and more. It is well worth the research to really appreciate how the "good ole boy" system works. BTW, the sheriff of that county just got out of prison for 18 months............LOL.

Read the comments below the description and you will get the gist of what was covered up by LE.

I don't think it was racist as it was part of my theory on what happened. I said nothing bad about the migrants and the migrant population includes more nationalities than just Mexicans ie Haitans, El Salvodorans, Honduras and more. And believe me I'm not a racist - if you could see my family - it's a rainbow.
I'll just go back to lurking

I agree that Ronald is just a piddly ant in a huge anthill. But I do think that there is a much larger picture here that just happens to surround Ronald's dark activities. It isn't that he is the grand marshall here, he just so happens to be entirely TOO close for comfort to other people who may be into something may larger than Ronald could comprehend or be a partner to. But, investigation into Ronald's activities could expose some very important people involved in some very lucrative activities. Those important people just can not let that happen. JMO.
