Thank God there are no Chinese invloved in this case because I don't know what we'd call them. Would it be wrong to call them Chinese?:waitasec:

Seriously? If you saw a Mexican on the street, would you say "Hey Mexican"? Hey Chinese lady? Wow, guys, come on now. No cops have said, we believe a Hispanic migrant worker is involved, not once ever, and thats how they would say it, if it was true. The only migrant worker story comes from some drugged out gal who admitted her girlfriend serviced a migrant worker, somehow for me, I can't make the leap, that because of that action Haleigh is dead, and it sure as heck morally does not make me adopt Ron Cummings racist language and say its ok because thats what they all say, because it ISN'T.

IIRC. Nay Nay isn't the only person who has mentioned hispanic migrant workers in the area.. Personally, I believe Ron C is the one responsible for what happened to Haleigh but it has been mentioned LE in the area have been known to frequently visit the premises of these migrant workers.... IMHO This could very well be the reason no cops have mentioned any hispanic migrant workers...JMHO.

Also, Emma Peel has requested we cool it and quit making mountains out of mole hills.. I agree.. CC meant no offense to any ethnic group of people in his/her theory...

JMHO

I love that when the cops talk and say something, it all gets ignored and deflected to innocent people. As for the ethnic stuff, I merely responded to someone, so hopefully they will read it and drop it as well and everyone can stop chiding me for being offended, I have that right whether anyone likes it or not. If someone came up to my Aunt and said, "Hey Mexican" I can only imagine how well that would be received and what would potentially happen to them. Lots of people thought it was ok for Ron to say the N word because his sister is married to an African American, thank goodness no one here decided to mimic that and use Rons words. I dont get the logic.

Could this not be something so simple as referring to people according to where they were born or where their home is, such as:

I am an American because I was born and live in America.
He is a Frenchman because he was born or lives in France.
She is Italian because she was born or lives in Italy.
He is a Spainard because he was born and lives in Spain.
She is Canadian because she was born and lives in Canada.
He is a Mexican because he was born and lives in Mexico.
She is Chinese because she was born and lives in China.

Not trying to argue here but just pointing out that people are regularly referred to as to their Nationality and has nothing to do with their race, but rather their homeland. If an immigrant just happens to be from Mexico, he is still a Mexican unless he was born in America then he is Mexican American. I don't see where race has anything to do with the nationality of the person.

And I'm a Cajun originally from Louisiana.. And some Louisiana Cajuns even refer to themselves as... "coon-asses". And where that name came from, I don't know.. But I have never been offended IF or when I was called either...JMHO

Had a roomie in college that told me she was a "coon-🤬🤬🤬"...I was surprised, never heard that before...and told her she may want to be careful saying it in public, she was right proud of the moniker.

Great, then why cant people say migrant worker? Labeling them as Mexican adds what? Seriously, what does it add?

BBM....Surprisingly enough quite a few Cajuns are proud of the moniker.. I never use the term when referring to myself or another Cajun.. I just say.. I'm a Cajun..JMHO

It adds a further descriptor regarding the person being referred to. There are other naitionalities serving in the migrant worker population today.

Now, could there be migrant workers from Guatemala or some other Hispanic nation, or is everyone pretty sure they are all "Mexican"? I think the correct term is " Hispanic Migrant Worker" just based on your post.

Could it be....The word "Mexican" was merely used just to identify their nationality..
No more..No less..JMHO..

Yes, but considering there is more than one type of Hispanic Migrant worker, the politically correct term is "Hispanic Migrant Worker. But maybe Nay Nay and her friend that was intimate with one had a what is your nationality app on their cell phone and scanned the person and could tell their exact ethnic makeup, I really dont know. I just get sick of hearing about those bad "Crescent City Mexicans" when the most terrible person in this story is Haleighs father who deserves to have the spotlight on him. One thing about the Hispanic people they love their families with all they have and work hard to provide a good life, so maybe Ronald would have benefited from hanging out with one of them. I am not sure my issue is the exact wordage, as I am it kills me to see the finger pointed at people who are actually trying to live and provide for their beautiful families. IMO

LOL, yes when I lived in New Orleans it was rather shocking to hear some of the Cajuns refer to themselves as "coon 🤬🤬🤬". But they appeared proud of it but I couldn't call them that. My mother is from the Eastern Band of Cherokee. This band call themselves American Indian. They do not want to be called Native American. The way they look at it, everyone born in American is a Native American but they consider themselves American Indian. Yep, I'm half American Indian and half Scotch Irish.

Could be that the workers told them that they were from Mexico? The plant that I worked at for twenty years sold to a Mexican Company. The Vice President and the officers of the company were all from Mexico. The Americans like me working for them were looked at as inferior to these wealthy Mexicans. We were seen as lazy and spoiled.

While working in Jamaica, the Brits and the Germans referred to us as the "crazy Americans" or "Yankees".

I am just dropping it, really, I see your point. I just feel very strongly and believe what the cops say when they do talk, and confirm that whoever did this was known to the two that are sitting in prison and who were responsible for the child, I mean that alone speaks very loudly if some want to hear it. It makes me sick when all these people talk up Ron like he had all these connections and was so powerful and a gang of people conspired against him because that feeds Ronalds ego, I am sure it really makes him happy that people deflect over his disgusting probably drugged out actions against a child who is missing. Oh, and he also told a UC that drug boys didn't take Haleigh, he isnt supposed to know, but some dont question that enough or apply the heat. And it makes me mad because if they had applied this heat to him, and not coddle him like Miss Nancy, this could have been solved in weeks.

Either way you want it Chablis. I know that some people cannot distingish from nationalities and cultures of hispanic peoples..I can. Grew up in Miami (Hialeah, actually) and was raised with latin cultures. Yes, many care greatly for their families and are hard working, law abiding citizens. Many are not...just as in all other nationalities. I have no issue with naming persons as a descriptor with their supposed nationality....but I see that you do. I have no prob with that! People have often tried to nail mine down...I have been called Latina, Cuban, Spanish,Jewish and Italian...I am none of those...but took no offense to it...I am American Indian, Scotch, Dutch. :seeya:

Aren't reporters allowed to interview prisoners? It appears that there aren't any willing or wanting to interview any of the five in prison. I was hoping that Misty would talk to someone or Tommy would talk with the press and give us a bit of information.

You are right stillettos. And I would like to add it really doesn't take away anything either. My ex-sil is from Lima, Peru. He is honored to be called a Peruvian. My grandchildren have been taught to be proud to be Peruvians. I don't see a problelm with saying someone is a Mexican. And when discussing racial slurs, the "N" word Ron used so frequently is not in the same category as saying someone is Mexican. As Lone said, "Mexican" tells where someone is from, their nationality. I would not be offended to be called an Ameircan. I would be very proud, as I think most Americans would. This entire discussion is so silly, and really taking the focus off Haliegh. JMO.
