George Norwell is missing after his car was found next to a Lancashire river bank on Saturday.

Police have said they are "extremely worried" about a 77-year-old man whose car was found next to a Lancashire river bank.

George Norwell was last seen in the Swift Close area of Whittle-le-Woods at 09:30 BST on Saturday.

His blue Ford Focus was later found close to the River Ribble, to the south of Preston, at the corner of Boulevard and Esplanade, police said.

Police are "extremely worried" for the welfare of a missing man who was last seen in Whittle-le-Woods.

'George is described as being 5ft 9in tall, slim, with white hair. He was last seen wearing a maroon tartan padded jacket with fleece lining, a maroon t-shirt, and dark trousers.'

'Anyone with information on George's whereabouts or saw him on Saturday, particularly in the Boulevard area, should call 101 and quote log 1280 of October 4, 2025.'
