George Zimmerman /Trayvon Martin General Discussion #6

Here is a guy walking around with a gun protecting a community where he lives and he doesn't know the name of the streets in Twin Lakes much less the addresses.
I don't believe anymore of GZ's stories. It is all smoke.

How long was he suffocating you? GZ: "Felt like hours".. did I hear that correctly?

It does feel like forever because your adrenal is pumping. Speaking from personal experience as the victim of a similar attack, that is how I recall it. JMO, OMO, MOO.

How did GZ use both hands to reach for his gun, unholster it, like he just did in the interview, if he was getting his butt kicked, head pounded?

I agree, how could he do that? Also, in one of his interviews to the police, he had said right before he shot TM, TM banged his head and that was when GZ shot him..

'Im only squarely in GZ's camp now because To me he is innocent until proven guilty. I just don't see the proof yet of anything that makes him guilty of anything except self defense.

This is the one case in a long time I went into without any judgment and wanted to see the case fact by fact.

Im waiting for the prosecution to prove their case to me. They have not yet.

All my opinion.

I just got here (been trying to speed read to catch up) - why is Zimmerman's name in all red?

My dad (who was a rogue, a rake, and a scoundrel for sure) had a "stand your ground law" he imparted to me and my sisters. It went like this: "If you're going to kill someone, make sure you get them in your house first." :jail::jail::jail:
Nver heard that in my home but heard this elsewhere from people 'shoot them then drag them in house'.
This tape is horrible.

Do he use the word "homey"?

GZ: "I don't remember".

This tape is not good for GZ. Clearly, his stories have changed.

Agree, funny how he's not remembering some of these things..

If Trayvon asked GZ "Do you have a problem with me", why didn't GZ answer?

LE questioning GZ. On tape.

IMO - I agree...the officers are also bringing up very good points about how TM could have perceived GZ's actions that night and multiple times where GZ could have diffused the situation.

IF I had a gun, and had just shot someone, I would either holster it or lie it on the ground. You might not want to be seen waving a gun around when the police show up.
That is my personal protocol.

and LE just confirmed it in her testimony. Not sure why CCP protocol would differ from LE protocol in that regard. Plus, it's common sense, imo

WOW, GZ isn't looking so good now, IMO

I believe this tape is damaging.. :twocents:

GZ wanted Trayvon to be around so LE could get him. According to LE taped interview. Yep, he wasn't letting this one get away. JMO

LE kept asking him why he followed Trayvon and why he didn't identify himself as neighborhood watch. GZ knew there was an arrest in the prior burglary.

Shoots a teenager and walks away. No attempt to check pulse, revive, look for wounds nothing. I just pulled out my firearm and shot him.
George it was a little more then just a shot.
You killed him.
George is cold as ice.

But my opinion is far different from yours.
I can't understand why your post is stated as fact.
It makes me nervous and reminds me of the media and also what happened after "they" changed "their" minds and decided to prosecute this case.
All of my posts are IMO, and how I feel as well.

I believe this tape is damaging.. :twocents:

Yes, it is. He is finally having LE ask him the pertinent questions, and his story keeps changing or he doesn't remember.

No wonder Officer Serino wanted charges right away. JMO

GZ keeps insisting the dispatcher asked him if he still wanted LE to come. That didn't happen on the tape. JMO
Yes it did. On the tape they played The dispatcher asked if he still needed LE to come. I remember hearing it. Sorry I can not tell you where but I will see if I can isolate it.

IMO - Also, he was in fear of a confrontation with TM, but then when TM ran away from him, he get's out of his car and decides to pursue him. Absolutely no common sense at all and an unarmed teenager paid with his life.
Have you ever had a timid dog that tucks tail and hides behind your leg until someone reaches down to pet it and then it attacks. They are called fear biters, and they cause way more injuries than most people know about. Not meaning to be offensive comparing man to dog, but in the primal brain we do have much in common. :moo:

Are u sure he said Trayvon was smoking or the last incident at that house a person was smoking up against the house?

I'm not sure, but regardless, Trayvon had a 7-11 lighter on his person. So it's reasonable to conclude that he may have been smoking and no reason to conclude that he definitely was not, imo.

IMO I hope Zimmerman is found guilty - I agree this is a tragedy, but I cannot agree with the state law. I do not find it acceptable to shoot under circumstances where common sense should have prevailed. IMO There were too many missed opportunities for Mr. zimmerman to retreat, and to keep himself away from his perceived eminent threat.

Trained gun owners, especially those carrying permits to conceal weapons should know the laws. Mr. Zimmerman has said in a TV interview that he knew nothing about SYG, which if it is true, he should never have passed any gun safety or training course, or should have been granted a concealed weapons permit.

MY OPINION Always, My Interest is always gun safety first!

But aren't you really talking about a State problem with guidelines and training? Under the circumstances, this appears to be a tragedy and not a murder. IMO.
We will know more after the State finishes its case and defense presents their case.

I said JMO, OMO, MOO. But I'm guessing you could find the testimony of the woman cop who was just on who said that it was normal that GZ would have holstered his weapon.

JMO. OMO. MOO.

Thanks.

That's what I was about to say and that's what it sounds like happened. He wanted Trayvon to be there when cops arrived.

ETA: And quite possible, based on DeeDee's story, that GZ tried to either detain Trayvon or something to that effect.
