I see some simlarities between this case and Melonie Biddersingh from Canada. Melonie was from Jamaica and her mother sent her to live with her father and stepmother in Canada in hopes she'd have a better life. Instead, they abused her to death, and she was a Jane Doe for years. IIRC the stepmom eventually confessed and her confession was linked to the Jane Doe. While she was unidentified there was speculation it was an honor killing but after her identification it turned out to be a particularly terrible murder through prolonged abuse. They told her family in Jamaica that she had run away. I wonder if it's a similar situation here?

This is one of those cases that has haunted me, and I occasionally check up on it for any update, even if it's just a crumb. This poor girl had it horrible when alive, and I could just imagine the fear she lived in. I pray that a breakthrough will happen, some small amount of justice at any rate.

I hope there will eventually be a brave relative or other witness calling on the perps or a deathbed confession. Only way that Noor Doe can get her name back. I am afraid the perpetrators have no sense of guilt and think it was morally right to kill Noor.
Rest with the angels, may your blood be avenged.

The victim was located in the Main River on Tuesday, July 31 at about 2:50 pm.She was found wrapped up in brown leopard-print sheets. She was bound with 2 ropes, one white and the other purple to a sunshade stand. The ropes originate from Pakistan and are also known as Nalas. An umbrella (white, round, 70 cm diameter) was also bound to these bands, probably to make the body sink. This umbrella is commercialized by two Dutch companies, ELFE and VEROPA. It's distributed all over Europe. Multiple unhealed injuries all over her body caused by long-term abuse. Both upper arms showed several fractures which were left to heal without treatment. Numerous cigarette burns were covering her entire body and she had numerous oblong scars on her forehead, torso and legs. There were also several lacerations on her head. She had been submerged in water for 12-24 hours, although maybe up to 3 days.

They've reorganized the BKA website -- here is an updated link. I'm not sure if it's new information that she was tied up in a crouching position.

From link, thank you!

''On 31.07.2001 at around 2:50 p.m., the packed body of a 13 to 16-year-old girl, weighed down by a parasol stand, floated in the water in the Main near Frankfurt-Nied. The body was wrapped in a brownish duvet cover with leopard print and a terry cloth sheet.

The girl's legs were bent and pressed to her chest, her arms close to her body. In this squatting position, the girl's body was wrapped and knotted with textile ribbons up to 10 cm wide. The packaged body was tied together with a white textile ribbon and tied to a parasol stand with a purple striped ribbon. These textile straps are so-called Nalas.

These are used in Pakistani, Afghan and partly in Indian cultures as belts to tie harem pants. In India, the nala is worn only by women, in Pakistan and Afghanistan by women in predominantly bright colors and by men, mostly in the color white.''

''Forensic examinations showed that the girl probably came from Afghanistan, Pakistan or northern India.''
