Well that does sound as if he might have been drugged, or maybe something medical going on? He behaved like someone with dementia or Alzheimers, in the bar and also later in Buxtehude, if that was really him. Not saying he has Alzheimers but possibly other medical conditions can have similar symptoms. jmo

There's nothing in the description of his behaviour that couldn't be accounted for just by alcohol. Because it's legal we tend to forget that it's actually a powerful neurotoxin and does nasty things to the brain.

The UK has a booze problem, and unfortunately Scotland's is worse than that of the rest of the country. Stag and hen parties not only get drunk, they generally get smashed out of their skulls.

Obviously if the body reported to have been found turns out to be Liam's the tox screen will clarify what exactly he had in his system when he died. The other question to my mind was whether the group or some members of it had taken any illegal drugs that night but haven't wanted to admit it. Combining various illegal drugs with a lot of booze really ain't a good idea.

The post further up about scottish people and stag/hen do’s is accurate, having been on numerous stag dos I can fully agree,The drinking starts as soon as everyone has met each other,Im surprised some of the group I was with were actually allowed on the flight to wherever we were going.The group on this stag do are not users of drugs, but if it does appear to be Liam found I think it will likely be a case off too drunkand too near water. Let’s pray it isn’t Liam though.

It‘s a approx. 3 km (2 miles) from the location he was last seen at. The HHLA is on the opposite bank side of the river.

He may have been over-stressed and perhaps sleep-deprived from putting this whole shindig togther. Even while happily putting it all together, it can be very stressful on a body.
Then -- booze, stress, and sleep-deprivation are a dangerous mix.
Add to that, if (probably) drinking large volumes quickly, the alcohol would continue to affect him further, even after he had stopped drinking and left the bar.
I think this was probably an unfortunate combination of circumstances that led to his uncharacteristic vulnerability, and the tragic outcome.

Yes, Dotr! What an agonizing week this has been for this family - full of desperation, then hope and now possibly bad news. I wish all missing people had a determined crew like Liam. I hope they get the support they need if it is him and I also hope their can see there way through to going ahead with the up-coming wedding for some joy at the end of all this
