Germany - Mitja Hofmann, 9, raped & murdered, Leipzig, 22 Feb 2007

  • #41
This story is just unimagineable. The beauty of that little boy and that photograph of the devil next to him. He was made to suffer terribly before being murdered. I cry for him, though I know he is with Jesus now in heaven. A beautiful little boy, whose life was cut short by he cruelest way possible. His parents must be suffering terribly, they may never recover from the guilt they feel and the hole that is left in their heart. I'm afraid I would have to hunt this 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 down and kill him myself....

This story hurts so much in the heart. I am praying this family can stay strong and survive this horrible nightmare that has come true.

How dare this piece of human trash put his hands on this beautiful boy. This little boy hadn't a care in the world, he just knew he was getting to ride alone, big boy deal, going to see a friend and then someone bought him a treat. All that in the mind of a 9 year old is fantastic. Imagine the fear he felt once inside this monster's house and the physical and psychological pain he went through. We cannot bear those thoughts they are just too horrible for our mind to wrap around.

I pray that this 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 is found and murdered soon.

This story just kills me, I have two boys and I can't imagine surviving something like this. He was so beautiful, so innocent, so loved....the devil lives in many people here on earth and this grown piece of trash is proof of that for sure. I didn't even know Mitja, but I miss him.....

God, please bless Mitja's family and give them strength to go on. God, please give the authorities the knowledge to catch this creep before he has the chance to do this again to someone else's little angel. God, please keep us all safe from harm. Thank you, we love you.

Well, if it were my child there's no way I would let him catch the train by himself at such a young age.
There's way too many sickos about the place to take a chance like that nowadays, 9 is too young to be travelling alone I dont care what anyone says!

I agree with you Narlacat. There's no way!

I feel nauseous seeing this picture of that sweet child sitting next to the monster that murdered him. :furious:

Me too. We were just discussing this at lunch today. I'm pretty certain that I won't even allow my daughter to ride the school bus when she's older. I just don't trust people. It's sad, but it's true. I'm very over-protective of my child and I don't care what anyone says or thinks.

I don't care either. My daughter is 12 and when she goes to the mailbox, I stand at the front door. It only takes one second for them to disappear.

Something else is bothering me about this case. In the second link it appears that only 4 other passengers were on the tram. If the perp got on the tram at a different stop than the child did, why didn't any of those 4 passengers or tram driver notice something amiss? I can't help but think someone would have suspected the perp was a stranger and being concerned, minimally made small talk with the child until he safely exited the tram, hopefully to waiting parents.

For some reason I tend to see going unnoticed in a crowded tram, not an almost empty one.

I'm the same way w/ my almost 11 yr old. I'm not sure how it is there in Germany, I just know I'd never let my dd ride anywhere alone. I'm not at all blaming the parents. From what I read about their suffering, had they known, they would have never allowed this to happen. The link was here earlier, but now it's gone. Not sure why it was deleted, but I read that Mitja was one of 8 siblings, not sure older or younger. I'm sure the parents felt that Mitja was mature and responsible enough to make this ride by himself. I'm sure it's not easy to tote the siblings along, which may have been a reason they felt Mitja was old enough to travel alone. Maybe they did teach him about strangers and what not to do, BUT what they never anticipated was how manipulating and more experienced an adult man can be w/ a child. Sure Mitja should have known to never go w/ this man for the desert, but this should remind all of us that no matter what we tell and teach our children, these perverts are so experienced w/ head games, that any child can fall prey.

The link that was deleted also mentioned that Mitja was kept for a couple of days, raped repeatedly before being murdered. Maybe I missed this, but when the parents reported him missing, wouldn't authorities have requested the tram video? If this precious child was kept alive for a couple of days, it seems that by viewing this video immediately, this sick pervert would have been caught and Mitja still might have been alive.

My thought and prayers are w/ Mitja's family and they can find the strength to make it through this tragedy.

Because stuff like this rarely every happens in Europe. People are just not, uhm, geared to think that way, like ordinary people in the US.... and they no-where near get to the point that us Websleuthers are.

They have arrested Uwe Kolbig in Leipzig early today. He tried to kill himself by jumping in front of a tram. I'm trying to find a link in English.

I'm glad this loser didn't die and I hope he's in a lot of pain - now he will face justice for what he did. Well, hopefully anyway, because I think all over Europe they are being to lenient with bastards like this. :behindbar

Here's a link:

Loser not only was convicted of sexual abuse of minors before (and was jailed for two years in 1998), but he nevertheless got a job at a petting zoo.

Serious injuries - cool. Hope the hospital is a little short on pain meds.

I wonder if the injuries are from the police or the tram. I am so glad he has been caught and is now suffering.

I wanted to post on this topic when it was first started but, after seeing that disturbing photo. I just could not find the words to express the horror I felt. Now that this monster has been caught, the first thought that came to me was....

I HOPE THAT TRAM RAN OVER HIS @!!#$% GROIN!!! :furious:

I'm glad he's been caught, but no amount of suffering is enough for what this 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 did. :furious: :furious:

I started to type out what I think they should do to this miserable monster, but deleted it because it would get me kicked off WS for sure. It wasn't nice.

I'm completely enraged! This has got to stop. These so called humans cannot be allowed to hurt our children ANYMORE!!!!!!!. He has a prior conviction but was able to get a job in a petting zoo. What the hell is wrong here????? :banghead: :furious: :furious: Why are these monsters even allowed out of prison?????????

May God Bless this poor innocent child.

At the very least he has been caught and hopefully may receive a little bit of 'justice' in jail? We'd hate him to get away with simple death now wouldnt we folks?

Sorry so many of you felt so bad after I posted this. I agree it was awful to look at. Maybe I shouldnt have posted the link!

The blame these parents will put on themselves, the guillt they will harbor, even though this is NOT their fault....heartbreaking.

I have been told I am way too over protective of my 2 boys (15 months old and 13 yrs old)....I will stay that way as long as things like this are going on in the world.

Well, it just seems to be fact that times have changed. I just have trouble believing that this kind of crime didn't happen just as often in previous generations. I know there have always been perverts but I want to know when things changed so? As a child of the 50's & 60's we were told not to talk to strangers, etc. but we were free to be children. When did it become so dangerous - and it is, to let your child go unattended. A nine year old who has taken the train with his parents and knows the routine should not be considered to young to do so by himself.

The photo is very disturbing. It's like you can 'read' the guy. See it in his eyes and the smirk, and that poor little boy, taking joy in the fact that he is growing up and doesn't need his parents to get from point A to point B.

It's disgusting. I used to be a die hard anti capital punishment advocate but, have decided those that prey on children go to prison for life after one strike. If a child is killed, the death penalty is mandatory.

Never thought I would hear myself say that but, after sitting here and watching the Couey trial, there seems no other way. I think of that cute little Runyon girl and all those whose names I don't remember and know, it's the only solution.
