Has there been any more information on Rebecca's disappearance ?

  • #244

Tragically she has been missing for more than 3 years now. Investigators believe she is the victim of foul play. They are still investigating but don't have the evidence necessary to prove a case against their suspect.
They haven't found evidence she left the house alive.

All JMO/IMO.

As long as there is no body, DNA from blood or other strong evidence and o confession, there is nothing LE can do.
The brother in laws stories are fishy and he remains the main suspect but as long as there is not more evidence, no charge can be made.

I hope this leads to some answers.
But what could there possibly be to find anymore, he's had four years to hide any traces or evidence... =(

I am afraid, you're right, there is already a statement about the missing bathrobe:

"Rebecca's mother, on the other hand, gave an explanation for the missing belt to RTL.
The belt was said to have been used for pulling and towing a bobby car. That's why it was disposed of when it was dirty."

Hinweise auf mögliche Tatwaffe? Mutter von Rebecca Reusch hat andere Erklärung

Also,if the bathrobe was used to strangle, silence Rebecca,I don't think an accoustic test will provide any answers..(moo)

" As RTL reports, the investigators are said to have carried out acoustic measurements in the house."

Rebecca Reusch: Police carry out measurements in the brother-in-law's house – expert explains what's behind it

Update from Friday, April 14, 08:55 a.m.: Several media reported on a house search in the missing person case Rebecca Reusch. Investigators took the house of the brother-in-law of the missing. According to RTL, acoustic measurements were also carried out in the course of this.

An expert in sound insulation and acoustics, Michael Weidenhammer, explained bild.de about the measurements: "There are many factors involved. But these methods could shed light on whether an argument must have been audible elsewhere in the house." This is used to determine "sound insulation values," he continued. There is airborne noise and structure-borne noise, the expert explained. "Airborne noise can also be shouts or screams, structure-borne vibration vibrations on components such as floors or walls".

Rebecca Reusch case: "There must be very weighty reasons to look for new evidence"

Update from Thursday, April 13, 21:48 p.m.: After it became public that the police had apparently re-examined the brother-in-law's house in February in search of the missing Rebecca, questions are raised. What were the reasons for the police to search the apartment again after four years? How likely is it to find traces after all this time?

Criminal investigator Christian Matzdorf told RBB24 that, overall, it must be assumed that the police are pursuing a new lead. "However, we cannot say whether the trail itself is new or has only acquired a new meaning in the constellation of different information," says Matzdorf. Both are possible. The brother-in-law's apartment was already in the sights of the investigation shortly after Rebecca's disappearance, and now there has been a new search warrant. "This means that there must be very weighty reasons for looking for new evidence now."

After a house search – now the mother is talking about a suspicious piece of clothing

Update from Thursday, April 13, 15:10 p.m.: After the disappearance without a trace in 2019 of the then 15-year-old Rebecca Reusch, there was a search – in the house of her brother-in-law in Berlin. As RTL reported, the investigators are said to have found a bathrobe without a belt. The mother of the missing student, Birgit Reusch, now wants to know where the belt has gone.

This is apparently said to have been used for "pulling and towing a bobby car," RTL wrote, citing a phone call with the mother. Because the belt was dirty, it was disposed of. Although the house search stirred Birgit Reusch, the family sticks together, RTL reporter Heinz Kegl learned. "There is no change within the family. You celebrate together if you can still celebrate them after Rebecca's disappearance," he said. To what extent the bathrobe belt is related to the disappearance of Rebecca or not is unclear.

Today, it is exactly 5 years ago, that Rebecca Reusch disappeared, without a trace.

Sadly, still no news to get the case solved :

Exactly five years ago, the then 15-year-old Rebecca Reusch disappeared from Berlin. Now a video has emerged that shows her brother-in-law leaving the house that same morning and returning shortly afterwards. He is still considered a suspect in the case.

"A few weeks ago a video from a surveillance camera emerged. According to a report in the "Bild" newspaper, the brother-in-law's car can be seen driving down the street near Rebecca's sister's house at 7:24 a.m. and returning after 46 minutes. On Sunday, the Berlin public prosecutor's office reacted to the recordings: "We know the video, we have evaluated it and there are no new findings from it," said a spokesman for the DPA news agency. The video was given to the investigators in the fall by the "Bild" newspaper been transmitted. Overall, there is no new status in the case"

Yeah, everybody knows he's done it but there just isn't enough evidence and without a body you need hard irrefutable evidence.

46 minutes to dispose of a body. No more than a 20 minute drive from the house. Likely never buried the body in that amount of time, unless he returned later.

He likely dumped the body in a commercial trash dumpster nearby. The body was then dumped in a landfill, and will never be found.

So sad. I feel so much pain for her family, unimaginable to deal with. Can’t believe it’s been 5 years honestly

Very possible. Just in Germany there are no huge public dumpsters on the street. He would have to have access to some industrial waste or restaurant or big apartment building dumpster.
I believe he killed her and just drove around with her body and didnt find a good place to dump her and then later went to Poland to get rid of her body.

The family so vehemently protecting him is also really strange.

Yes, dumpsters I were referring to would be at business, apartment complexes, construction sites, ect, not public dumpsters.

New articles:

"Statements from a Berlin police officer are now embarrassing the investigators. His accusation: The very important request for Google data, which could provide information about the location of Rebecca's cell phone, was significantly delayed...Google only provided the police with the data in spring 2021, about two years after Rebecca's disappearance. The necessary decoding of the information took another two years. The evaluation was not available until April 2023..."

Not much news really, just to confirm your post about the delay of the online investigation of Google / BIL:

Explosive emails in the Rebecca case have surfaced: Police insider makes serious allegations against investigation

"Former homicide investigator and case analyst Axel Petermann is furious about the time period: "The results of the brother-in-law's Internet searches only came four years later, and that during such relevant investigations. And then it turns out that the brother-in-law was interested in breath control during sex
These are enormously important findings that could provide an indication of the brother-in-law's sexual preferences and at the same time raise the question "whether he was trying to be intimate with Rebecca and also realize his sexual fantasies," Petermann told IPPEN.MEDIA in February . "Four years later, unfortunately, there are no longer any traces that could confirm this suspicion."

"Lots of questions, few explanations - that fuels B's theory. For him, technical queries should now be standard in investigations, but there are still many "old school investigators". The police are slow to adapt to new circumstances "

Brisante Mails im Fall Rebecca aufgetaucht: Polizei-Insider erhebt schwere Vorwürfe gegen Ermittlungen

My first question would be, why is RR’s family standing behind him? Unless the situation is more complex, and they are not sure whom exactly they are protecting?

If this article has been already posted, I apologize.

Excerpt:
Now it comes out: According to BZ information, Rebecca's brother-in-law is said to have traveled to Poland for a drug deal!

For investigators, the A12 to Frankfurt (Oder) and Poland is an east-west crossroads for smuggling stolen goods, but also for drugs such as crystal meth. Was Florian R. given a rapid drug test? For "investigative tactical reasons" the police are not saying anything about this.”

So, it seems to be an open secret in Germany what FR’s business is. So, your son-in-law is at least a known drug trafficker, plus he browses strangulation 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on his computer, plus he was the last known person to have seen your vanished daughter alive, plus he lives in the house with your other daughter and your granddaughter… why stand by him?

It is sad that the case has not been solved yet. There are multiple YouTube videos about RR’s case on the Internet, I watched the one posted a month ago. FR doesn’t have a stellar reputation. The optimists hope that he may have trafficked RR, maybe for a drug debt, but I doubt.

Early the morning of February the 18th, RR’s mother was very much concerned about R not answering the phone and the calls going to vm at 7:15. She called R’s sister who was not in the house. Then the mom called FR and he did not answer the phone. Mom called Rebecca’s sister again, and the latter called FR, her husband, several times, until he finally answered and said he was asleep. (Now it seems he lied. He was browsing 🤬🤬🤬🤬.) He said that RR was not in the house.

My own logic: If RR’s phone was on the flight mode, to get access via the home internet, then logically, if/when RR left the house to go to the bus stop or even be picked up by someone else, being a teenager, she should have switched it onto a cellular mode. No teenager loses the Internet connection. If the phone remained on the FM, then logically, I would suspect the same the police says, that RR didn’t leave the house alive. The only way for her to walk out of the house and not switch the phone on is if FR offered to drive her to school. Then it makes sense that she got in the car, whether in a garage or next to the house, as there probably is some connection next to it. What happened after that, we don’t know. Perhaps RR was alive for a while in the car, but not for too long. But still, it starts and ends with FR.

I believe if RR’s family were not standing behind FR, the police would have scrambled enough of a case against him. His drug dealing is own vulnerability to start with. The behavior of the family is unclear. The mom was anxious, then she heard that RR had left and stopped being nervous, obviously thinking RR was at school. She obviously had no reasons to mistrust her other daughter or FR. Then she got anxious again when RR didn’t come home. The parents called the police. It all makes sense so far. Of course the Berlin police lost an unforgivably long amount of time, 3 days if not 4, but the family initially behaved very appropriately and predictably. It is when FR was arrested that they supported him. What makes them support a man who is not their own flesh and blood and even without RR’s part, comes across as a total cad?

My own explanation:

- JMO, MMO. All the push for such support might be coming from FR’s wife. God knows what he told her and how he explained the situation. But there was something in his story that she believed, or for some other reason, she decided to take his side. I have no facts indicating that she herself is involved at all (her behavior in the morning of RR’s disappearance appears logical). However, later something changed. And then, RR’s sister presented it to her parents in such a way that they now believe that they are protecting the whole family, not just FR. I think RR’s parents are confused about what happened in the house that morning.

There is a tiny chance that some other boy was involved (M’s IG being down for 6 mo is unexplained, for example; the question why stands). However, logically, there is a much bigger weight of evidence against FR.

Another possibility I can believe is that a 15-year-old girl who wanted to be a model and took a camera with her could have been catfished by an adult pretending to be a professional photographer. But he had to pick her up very close to the house, and unless he was FR’s friend, I don’t believe FR would not notice an unknown car parked nearby.

Between some boys an attractive 15-year-old could have been dating and an adult organizing some dirty trick, I’d bet on an adult.
