2) look at who saw the victim last
3) downplay any "without a trace" abduction in broad daylight
4) anything stated by those that were with her last should be questioned, even if repeated by LE

Finally be very careful accepting "facts" early in a story. The added translation issues causing some issues here as well.

ETA- missing blanket or sheets, usually evidence of a sex crime- occurring in the original location of the items (home). We saw this with the SLP and VS cases recently.
