Accordingly, Florian R, husband of Rebecca's sister Jessica and father of two children, came home around 5.45 am from a company party. At about 7:00 in the morning Jessica left the house without looking for Rebecca. Barely fifteen minutes later, the missing sister's older sister is said to have called her husband, requesting Rebecca to attend school.

My guess is police was holding him hoping he would confess. But he didn’t. The judge said there is not enough to place him in pretrial detention. Police will have to build a stronger case, and they are working on it.

It seems like we really don't know what time he got home other than his word.

We also don't know what time she was actually last seen... was it 11 PM before bed?

I also find it weird her phone was connected between 6 - 8. If she was spending the night wouldn't it still be connected from her presumably using it the night before.

If it wasn't connected that means that she or someone connected it at 6 AM as the BIL was supposedly arriving home?

We don't know this. It hasn't been reported.

I was wondering, if it's true he works in the hotel industry, maybe he wasn't attending a party that night but catering to party guests. When I was young I often did night shifts at a large local hotel as a server. Their restaurant was open 24 hours.

Rebecca's sister hasn't been named a suspect so we are not allowed to accuse her of anything. She is considered a victim.

One day after the arrest of a suspect in the case of the missing Rebecca Reusch, 15, the Berlin police suspect a homicidal offense. "Since there are still no signs of life from the missing, it is now assumed that Rebecca was the victim of a homicidal offense," the officials said in a press release. "She could not be found yet," it continues.

In addition, a judge has ordered the release of the arrested brother-in-law. The investigating magistrate could not establish an urgent suspicion, the investigators said on Friday. The police now confirmed media reports that the suspect was the 27-year-old brother-in-law of the missing.

Forensic scientists examined on Friday the house of the sister in the district Britz, where the young girl had stayed before her disappearance on 18 February. It's about to search everything and possibly to secure existing traces, said a police spokesman. The goal was to prove an offence related to the man arrested on Thursday. Whether there is a trace to the 15-year-old, meanwhile, remains unclear.

When interrogated, officials usually check whether a suspect makes contradictory statements or comments on facts that only the perpetrator can know. Therefore, in homicides the police generally attaches importance, for example, that initially no details of the crime become known through the media.

If he is guilty he probably got rid of her in a hurry and then the phone later.

I will say that I’ve been trying to keep up on translating all of the articles and there are SO many discrepancies of what supposedly happened from 700-830

It is very challenging to decipher the facts. Is it possible that there's proof that she was at her sister's house from 6-8AM because the WLAN confirms that her phone was sending and receiving WhatsApp messages during that time, but at 8:30, when her mom sent a WhatsApp message, there's only 1 check - meaning the message was not received. On that basis, police believe that something happened to her at the house between 8 and 8:30AM?

The brother in law is at quite a disadvantage if he was partying until 5:45AM because he would be too tired to pay attention to details, such as what time it was when he checked on her or saw her. I would expect that time would be a bit of a blur for him after an all-nighter of partying, and the only thing he would be thinking about is sleeping for a couple of hours.

I'm curious how he got home and who else knew that his sister-in-law was sleeping on the sofa.
